I make peanut butter protein fudge. 1/2 cup margarine/butter, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 10 sweetner (Splenda or Truvia) packets and 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder.

There's an old wives tale that when an incision or cut or a wound starts itching, it means it's healing.

Getting off cpap..?
GradyCat replied to jasmineinmymind's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I never took my CPAP on vacation because, like you, I was diagnosed with "milk" Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I had a regular annual appointment at 3 months post-op after having lost 50 pounds and told the doctor I didn't feel I needed the CPAP anymore, so they gave an at-home sleep kit and lo and behold, I no longer had Sleep Apnea! -
What Food Is Your Kryptonite?
GradyCat replied to MrsGamgee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The foods that still give me the foamies six months post-op are: steak, soft tortillas, shredded chicken -

Sleeved 6/11 and having issues with getting protein down...
GradyCat replied to DrButterfly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do the premade GNC Lean Shakes. The Atkins Protein Plus shakes aren't bad either. You can eat solid food now, right? Some cheese, cottage cheese, peanut butter might add some protein. -
Exercising after the sleeve...
GradyCat replied to brittanyatwalsh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You can walk now. You can do cardio in two weeks. You can do weight lifting in 6 weeks (nothing more than 10 pounds until then) -
You won't be able to sleep tonight because of the big day tomorrow. Congrats! Good luck on your WLS journey.

Umm I need an excuse well a we’ll developed story on how to tell my employer that I need a week a off?
GradyCat replied to KKO.0524's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can just tell them that you need the week off for medical reasons without having to tell them what the medical reasons are. -
That's a weird thing for a surgeon to say. Most of them just recommend ANY form of exercise 30 minutes 4 or 5 times a week. You might consider a second opinion

Good luck on your WLS journey -
I haven't had any labs done since my surgery. I guess I need to get some done to check how things are going.

I'm glad I don't drink alcohol

You might want to consider some therapy to deal with those food feelings and what's going on in your life right now.

How long do I have to take Actigall/Ursodiol?
GradyCat replied to justmetj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a gallbladder, but no medication. I've never heard of this before. -
1. Weigh and measure all of your food. 2. Food plan three meals and one snack each day. 3. can't help you with this one; I'm retired, but you could keep almonds or protein bars in your drawer at work

Bariatric Surgeon vs General Surgeon
GradyCat replied to MrMagic's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I guess a general surgeon could do bariatric surgery, as they do all kinds of different procedures, but I'd want someone who specialized in bariatric surgery, had a proven track record, was Board Certified, and had done it thousands of times. -
I'm taking biotin and using Minoxidil to hopefully stave off any hair loss.
-
That's great.
-
Did you check the sugar and carb content on it? Some other premade drinks are higher in protein and lower in sugar.
-
Yes, at this point you should be weighing and measuring everything you put into your mouth to ensure you're staying below 1/2 cup.
-
I think you look great, but you're the one who has to be happy.
