Oh, I hear ya, they make me so hungry and there are so many of them. Darn them!

I need more food ideas for soft food stage
GradyCat replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't worry about the stalls at this point, it's too soon to worry about your weight and stalls will happen inevitably. For the soft food stage I existed on chicken noodle soup, cottage cheese, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello and lots and lots of liquids -

Can't keep up with small frequent meals
GradyCat replied to milena2306's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
As long as you're eating or drinking something every couple of hours, you'll be fine. Staying hydrated is critical. -
Hospital Food - Good News!
GradyCat replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow, that's really encouraging that some hospitals are doing this -
It's okay for now, but don't expect it to continue that large of a weight loss every week ongoing for months. Congrats! Good luck on your recovery and weight loss

Home scale vs dr scale
GradyCat replied to PudgeBeGone's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Each scale is going to be slightly different, so I'd stick with the consistency of your home scale to determine your ups and downs. Weight is, after all, just a number, and the number on your scale is your most consistent. -

GradyCat replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 months post-op and still drink a chocolate protein shake every morning for breakfast. -
That's a wonderful accomplishment! Good for you! Keep up the good work.

Weight loss during nutrition counseling?
GradyCat replied to Libby63's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Somewhere between my initial surgeon visit and the date of surgery I lost 14 pounds -
I was more excited than anxious. A couple of days before the surgery of course I worried about "What if there are complications?" or "What if I die on the operating table?" but those are normal fears and here I am 7 months later happier, healthier, and lighter.

Sometimes it's sodium or salt in the diet. I used to get pitted edema in my legs, but since I've lost weight it doesn't happen anymore

I cant believe I'm 2 and a half weeks post OP!
GradyCat replied to fulfillingfavor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's exciting, isn't it? I'm 7 months post-op sleeve now and so happy I did the surgery. -
Welcome back. I do everything on my desktop, so I can't help you. Just wanted to reach out and welcome you back.

Sometimes I still want to blame my parents for the types of food (all bad, all lard, all fat and processed) they fed us, but hey, it was the 60's and 70's and they didn't know any better and heck, I've been an adult for 30+ years now and able to make my own choices. But yeah, definitely, if I had kids (which I don't) I would teach them how to eat healthy
-
It depends on how far out you are post-op. For a while, several months, carbonated soft drinks are out of the question. But you can do sugar-free Crystal Light in Water, and other sugar-free non-carbonated drinks
-
That's so frustrating. Hang in there. You'll get your surgery.
-
Yikes! Probably nothing to worry about though

I never got cold, but I've seen a lot of people in these forums say they were cold after bariatric surgery

Gastric Sleeve and back pain
GradyCat replied to Green1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, they're not related, just an unfortunate incidence -
Good luck on your WLS journey
