Oh cool, I like the reds and oranges the best and at my store it's always variety packs with grape

You're past the liquid and soft food stages now, right? Focus on protein like chicken, turkey, tuna. Enjoy solid food again!
-
My nutritionist told me 600-800 but my surgeon said she doesn't talk calories, just to eat protein first, eat 3 times a day and that's it.

STALLLLLL SOMEONE HELP!!!
GradyCat replied to ruthalbert21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
30 pounds in two months is more than "only" -- it's WONDERFUL! Stalls happen, don't worry about them. Just continue to follow the plan. -
Was 3-4 weeks when your doctor said you could start again? I imagine it will be a couple months before I will be allowed to get back to working where I'm at, it is very heavy weight. Yes, my doctor said a month to allow the incision to heal. Restriction up until then was 10 pounds.

I've logged everything into myfitnesspal since day 1 post-op surgery (actually I was doing it was for months pre-op too). My nutritionist told me 600-800 calories with 60 g of protein daily

While not a heavy weight lifter, I returned to the gym immediately for cardio like the treadmill and recumbent bicycle, but I waited about 3-4 weeks before resuming any of the strength training weight lifting on the machines to ensure that my incisions had healed.

International Cross-Country Hiking - Diet Issues
GradyCat replied to mousecat88's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
When I went on a mission trip to Kenya I had the same situation. I ended up packing a bunch of protein bars and almonds and subsisted on them for the week and I was there. -
That's interesting to hear about Zoodles options at Olive Garden and Noodles & Co.

Welcome and good luck on your WLS journey. I learned so much here from reading the various boards and topics and it really helped me through the process.

Malabsorption of psych meds? Or any meds?
GradyCat replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You're welcome. My psychiatrist deals with bariatric patients in her routine practice at the hospital, so I think she should know what she's talking about. I'm 7 months post-op and haven't noticed any depressive episodes or extra anxiety as a result of drugs not working. I take Prozac and Rexulti. -
How long after EGD till surgery date?
GradyCat replied to Lynda486's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ten days is plenty of time, you should call them any time now. -
I'm lucky that I've never smoked, so this doesn't apply to me, but I'm weighing in because in the orientation and subsequent seminars I sat in on the surgeon and staff really stressed how important it is for the WLS patient to stop smoking.

GradyCat replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No, I haven't had any outbreaks of acne or skin issues post-WLS. (I'm 54) -
Malabsorption of psych meds? Or any meds?
GradyCat replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I asked my psychiatrist if any of my meds would fail to absorb and she explained the science to me of why they're not going to be affected by the WLS or not get absorbed properly. -
Woot-Woot! It's a great feeling, isn't it? Congratulations!

High Five For you! Way to go! Good job!🏆

I drink Crystal Light Peach Tea in my water. Love it! -
I didn't have to do the classes, but I do understand the importance of them and making surgery candidates aware that it's a lifetime commitment to change for success

Whoohoo! Surgery date received!
GradyCat replied to Deegirl31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's good news and always makes you feel good to have a specific date scheduled. Good luck with your WLS journey. -

Do Non-Battery Scales up to 350 exist?
GradyCat replied to polly...'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My battery-operated scale is pretty accurate and consistent, but I hear ya, I had one once that would swing 5+ pounds depending on how you stood on it. Try a different make/model. -
Good luck. My surgeon's office wouldn't put the surgery on their calendar until I had insurance approval.

Where will you be 9 months from now?
GradyCat replied to KT1981's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Great job! I hope to have met goal in 9 months and be healthier and wiser and have learned my lessons on how to eat healthier for the rest of my life. Plus, in 9 months I'll be on vacation to Iceland!
