I get bruises all the time. Always have. Random places on arms and legs mostly where I guess I bump against stuff without realizing it. I always attributed it to being Anemic.

Binge eating-14 months after surgery
GradyCat replied to Andrejeus's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You've done GREAT! You don't want to mess things up now. Go back to eating 1500 or fewer calories per day. Stick with the pouch reset diet. You know how to do it because you've done it successfully for 14 months. You can do it! -
💩Poop (or lack there of)
GradyCat replied to GingerSlim's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I would take Milk of Magnesia or Dulolax and get things moving. -
Maybe it's just the effect of surgery and toxins and anesthesia coming out of your body and not the protein shake?

Welcome Allie. Keep sipping those liquids and staying hydrated. Good luck on your WLS journey.

My surgeon's office has a small store inside their office where you can buy foods, snacks, and vitamins. Also, GNC has a lot of supplements and foods that they sell here on BariatricPal in other brands like Optimum Nutrition, etc.

Exercise and activity How much and When??
GradyCat replied to demayome's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was walking immediately and went back to the gym doing cardio at 2 weeks, but no lifting more than 10 pounds until 4-6 weeks. -
Week 1 was the easiest because all you have to eat or drink is liquids and you're really not hungry and you're very compliant at that point. You've go this, you can do it! Just keep sipping, sipping, sipping. Incorporate sugar-free popsicles too.

What shakes are good?
GradyCat replied to Cherylmilla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink premade GNC Lean Shakes and love them. I do the chocolate flavor. -
The loss of taste isn't abnormal as our tastes sometimes change post-WLS but your weakness and inability to stand long enough to shower or cook sounds troublesome. You might want to give your surgeon a call.

The doctors and nurses at the hospital have seen everything. They're not going to care. Be yourself and be comfortable.

Weight loss in feet?
GradyCat replied to Butterfly#7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that you mention it, I think I have too. -
Fitting in all my favorite foods
GradyCat replied to apiane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I didn't have any food funerals, but enjoy yours. -
I visited the local thrift store to buy used clothing in various sizes as I've transitioned. I still have 50 more pounds to lose, so I don't want to invest too much in new clothes as I continue to lose.

No, I haven't had any problems. I still drink one every day even now 7 months post-op. I love the chocolate taste. I use premade GNC Lean Shakes.

Getting Ready for Surgery
GradyCat replied to JazzyReady803's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Good luck on your WLS journey. -
The good thing is you're aware of it and on top of it. Try a pouch reset diet and try to get back on the program of getting in 60 g of protein each day, limiting carbs and fats, 64 oz of water, and maybe get some walking in.

Getting My Surgery Date On TUESDAY 🥳
GradyCat replied to curlygirlgetsfit's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's great. Good luck on your WLS journey -
It sounds like you're on the right track with finding a new good doctor that you like and can trust. A revision might be the answer. Check the forums here and many people have had them and have had success with that. Hang in there.

Your complications
GradyCat replied to becomingtara's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had zero complications. But I was careful about which surgeon and which facility I chose and that made all the difference. So your question would elicit different answers from different individuals because everybody is different, has different health issues to start with, etc. -
I've had the experience that you expected. I had GERD and took Omeprazole for years. Now ever since WLS I no longer have GERD or heartburn and don't need it anymore and haven't taken it for 7 months.
