I didn't know they helped with inflammation. I figured they just got rid of water weight. I'm too claustrophobic to do one.
-
No, I got lucky, I never had the gas pains. Take care.

I have gained 10lbs in a year and im worried I cant get rid of it and ill gain more!

The best thing I can think of is go back to the basics like when you first had WLS. Meet your protein goals of 60g of protein per day, 64 oz of liquids/water per day, aim for around 800 calories. -
I'm so sorry to hear that you had problems. Please try to keep sipping, sipping, sipping on water/liquids all day long to prevent another episode of dehydration.

Am I eating too many POPSICLES???
GradyCat replied to Friday205's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Holy moley that's a lot! But I guess it's just liquid so it's no big deal. I was eating two a day after surgery. -
I was off the cpap within 2 1/2 months post sleeve surgery and off Omeprazole for GERD and high blood pressure medicine within 3 months. I didn't have any trouble swallowing pills.
-
Is that a thing? Intubation? With bypass, not sleeve? I didn't know. Hmmm, not want to consider that myself. I did know about the NSAIDS

Hi! What questions did you have about your surgery?
GradyCat replied to mlmx1138's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Specifically as to the surgeon I asked how many times she had performed the procedure and what her success rate was, I asked what to expect in terms of weight loss and how long, I asked about any complications and side effects. I am 54 and it's been a wonderful experience. -
Waiting patiently for Aetna to approve my surgery

Once everything was done and submitted to insurance it took about 7-10 days. -
I had the dreaded Week 4 stall that many of us go through and it lasted a week and a half. Then again I stalled at 3 months for a whole month. Now I'm fighting every single pound.

Dehydration this helps me
GradyCat replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never heard of that. I use Crystal Light in my water and that seems to do the trick for me. -
My need to do Pouch reset.

Stick to it! Don't let this control you . . . you've got this! You worked too damn hard and lost too much damn weight to let it take over you now. You can do do this! Going back to basics will get you on the right path. -
eating more than i’m used to and it’s scaring me?
GradyCat replied to DayaPostOp's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Nip it in the bud right now before it gets out of control. Go back to how you were eating when you first had the surgery after starting solid foods. Eat protein. Stay around 800 calories/day. Drink your water. -
I eat too fast. I try to make it last 20 minutes.
-
Sounds pretty normal as you're just barely out of surgery and recovering, but if you feel concerned, call your surgeon's office.
-
I still prefer a chocolate protein shake every morning to get me up and going

Makes sense. The stigma about obesity should end. -

Incision pain several months after surgery?
GradyCat replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's weird. Phantom pain, huh? I don't know, I haven't had that. -
Way to go! Woot-Woot! It's so exciting, isn't it? Hubby's bought me a massage gift card but I told him not to give it to me until I reach "Overweight" which is 10 more pounds to lose from now. I can't wait to be Overweight!
-
Yes, everything you're experiencing is normal. It's only been 5 days. Don't rush the process. Just take it slow, sip, sip, sip on liquids and don't rush into eating solid foods.
-
I'm surprised you're getting in that many calories. I would think it would be around 600 at this point. Watch yourself and what you're eating and be careful. Stick with protein.
-
Take at least a month before introducing anything too spicy into your diet. You're still healing on the inside.

I don't particularly care for food. If it were up to me I'd spend the rest of my life grazing on cookies. But I know that I can't do that anymore and it's not healthy and I'm too damn old to keep eating that way. So I force myself to eat real whole foods everyday and meet my protein goals. It's just what I gotta do.
