I didn't have any nausea once I left the hospital, but sometimes once I started on solid foods I get the "foamies." You'll see here on the forums about the "foamies." It happens when you eat something your body is rejecting or isn't ready for. I'm 8 months post-op sleeve and my stomach will not tolerate bread or soft tortillas and I get the "foamies" if I eat them. It's like throwing up, but no food comes out, just foam or mucus.

Good to hear such positive results. Way to go! -
Complications can happen, but they are the minority and exception and not the rule. So sorry for what your friend is going through.

Dirty dark sleeve secrets :P Confessional
GradyCat replied to AchieveGoals's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No, I haven't done most of those. I won't take NSAIDS because I fear they'll hurt my stomach. I know better than to drink with my meals. I've had no trouble getting in my daily protein. I've never skipped a vitamin. I do eat out though, but I make healthy choices and order healthy food options. -
Did/do you track measurements and take regular photos?
GradyCat replied to Zemi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, I have monthly measurements and keep it on a spreadsheet and I've also taken monthly photos and do a collage on a free photo editing website to show my "before" photo and "after" photo so that I can see the difference. -
Pain medication and Ranitidine - Am I feeling pain or acid?
GradyCat replied to PeachPerfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine cleared up for my immediately post-op. I used to take Omeprazole daily for 5+ years prior to surgery but ever since surgery I haven't needed it at all and no longer have GERD or Acid Reflux. -
What if I’m just not hungry?
GradyCat replied to Goldn02Grl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't force yourself to eat. You can make it on fewer calories and protein shakes. Enjoy this losing phase. -

Frustrating weight loss
GradyCat replied to 2019CD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear ya! I've tried everything to break the stall and slow weight loss. I tried liquid-only and fewer calories, but that didn't work. But I did have some success on adding more calories, up to 1200 and that showed me some weight loss. -
Everything physically hurts. Emotional stuff follows

I can tell you what a difference the sleeve surgery has made for me at 54 years old in the last 8 months. I no longer have Sleep Apnea, Gerd, Acid Reflux, or High Blood Pressure. I've gotten rid of all of those comorbidities. I feel so much better and more confident. Good luck on your WLS journey. -
My pre-op diet was 1500 calories/day. I don't remember if I lost anything or not as I had already been eating about that much anyway and dieting.

Definitely buy some protein shakes when you get where you're going and stock up on them in your minifridge. -
I also take antidepressants and some other prescription medication and I had no problem swallowing them starting the day I got home from the hospital post-op. Just take them as usual. By the way, there is no problem with absorption of anti-depressant medication post-op in case you were wondering.

It's always best to have everything in the best shape when you undergo surgery, so be glad your doctor cares enough to make sure your levels are appropriate before putting you under. Good luck.

It's likely water weight or just a slight variation of the time of day that you weighed. Don't worry.

I take Biotin each day as well as use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and even Minoxidil on my scalp all to help stave off the hair loss.

Sounds like Acid Reflux. Are you lying down after you eat by chance? Try some tums and watch what you eat/what causes it and try to restrict those foods.

Eating While On 2 week Liquid Diet
GradyCat replied to Tonya L's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try to stick to the pre-op diet because you're going to be eating on a "diet" for the rest of your life and have to get used to a new way of thinking and eating. -
Got my date!!! August 19th
GradyCat replied to TravMac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on getting your surgery date. It's only 10 days out . . . are you already on your pre-op diet and preparing for the procedure? -
It's only two weeks. You can do it.

When do I start talking my multi and calcium supplements?
GradyCat replied to LindseeNohan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started them the day after I was discharged from the hospital post-op -
Probably unrelated?
