Each insurance company has its own requirements and each doctor's office has its own requirements, so I guess you need to find a meeting of the minds that works best for you.

10 Week Post Op Weight loss stall
GradyCat replied to Joyfuljourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh they're so, so frustrating. Just rest assured that it's nothing you've done wrong. Therefore, there isn't something you can do about it. It just has to run its course. Hang in there and keep up the good work. -
Tired of the Holidays/Going to work/Constant food
GradyCat replied to momof3_angels's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I remember this from working in an office one year while I was on Weight Watchers, but I rallied through and took a few bites of a few select things and counted my points. Now, since bariatric surgery, I am retired, so it's more about me not bringing it into the house. When I meet my friends out for lunch and when I just went to our annual girls' Christmas party, I selected only the protein items and avoided the sweets and carbs. I just went into it knowing that I HAD to make good choices. -
Good luck on your weight loss journey.

How do you sleep? 2 days post op
GradyCat replied to eporter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was up and down throughout the night for the first few days at home after release from the hospital. By a week later it had all resolved itself and was back to normal. -

Started puree 7 days out of surgery I ate too much
GradyCat replied to Maryalice717's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It's okay, don't beat yourself up, just don't do it again. It's very important to stick to the program. Even now at 1 year out I can't eat a cup of food. -
discomfort and pain 15 months later
GradyCat replied to lessismore1001's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
What have you been eating? I get bloaty and feel like I'm going to get the foamies if I eat fried food or something my stomach still won't tolerate (bread, tortillas, pasta, potatoes). -
Congrats and best wishes on your weight loss journey

How many cc of water could you drink In one go after surgery?
GradyCat replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just sip, sip, sip all day long and don't worry about measuring it. Just don't gulp or use a straw. -
You're never supposed to drink with your meal. I just met with my nutritionist last week, one year post-op and she reminded me about the reasons for the no drinking while eating rule. It's so we won't rush the food through and then get hungrier sooner and want to eat again.

XMAS DINNER IDEA'S to help those early post op
GradyCat replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds like a good plan. I was still on liquids only last Christmas, so when the family got together I just brought along my own premade chocolate protein shake. My mother-in-law asked why I wasn't eating (I had kept the surgery a secret) and I told her I had just had a hiatal hernia fixed (true, during sleeve surgery) and couldn't eat solid foods for a couple of days. -
Stick to mostly bland things, broth, nothing spicy.

Nope, not a fan.
