Hands Peeling After Surgery
GradyCat replied to MrsSnapBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't experienced that, but my guess is that you might be dehydrated and your skin is drying up. Are you sipping, sipping, sipping all day long? -
Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Holidays are hard on all of us. Welcome to the forums, nice to meet you and good luck on your weight loss journey.
-
Like others have said, it probably means you're full.
-
Chair yoga and seated exercises sound best for you. Google that and you'll find videos of things you can do with elastic bands or weights while seated.
-
It's more than likely head hunger. Even now one year post-op I rarely, if ever, feel "hungry" but my head hunger triggers me to eat sometimes.
-
A few weeks from now you won't be in pain and you'll step on that scale and be amazed at how far you've come in just a short time. Hang in there. Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Ugh... side effects of rapid weight loss
GradyCat replied to momof3_angels's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Your body will know how to take care of itself. Hang in there. -
That is the common coverage for bariatric surgery, having a BMI 40 or over or a BMI of 35 or over with two comorbidity factors. The surgery has to be medically necessary for them to cover it under insurance. They're not going to pay for someone who doesn't need it to have it.

No, I've had a half a banana a couple of times, but I wasn't really ever a fruit eater even before surgery.
-
I had the surgery a year ago and I was on Medicare Advantage through Humana, PPO Plus, not Gold Plan. It covered everything after my deductible. For the whole surgery, pre-testing, hospital stay, everything, I think I was out $600 total. Good deal!

UNDER 200 LB NEW PHOTOS NEW CLOTHES!!
GradyCat replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way to go! New clothes reward ourselves for our hard work. -
My surgeon doesn't have any restrictions on coffee. I drink it (decaf) occasionally.

Yes, I have experienced a multi-month stall and yes, it's frustrating as hell. I tried everything, thinking I had something wrong. As it turned out, my body just needed a rest and I needed to add a few more calories, which was counter-intuitive, and then I started losing again. It's okay if your body takes a break. Let it do its thing. Stick with the program and hang in there.

How many years after surgery could you eat a plate of spaghetti without feeling nauseous?
GradyCat replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm a year post-op sleeve and still can't eat pasta. -
Multivitamin without B9 (Folic Acid) during Chemo
GradyCat replied to dsmith0996's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I don't know the answer on your vitamin question, but I wanted to tell you I'm praying for you as you go through chemo and I'm wishing you the best. -
9 plus years post op and weight gain
GradyCat replied to chequitaluv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is there any reason you don't log your food? I use the MyFitnessPal free app online and have logged in everything I eat on there for several years. It really helps keep me accountable in terms of portion sizes, calories, and macros of what I'm eating. I can certainly relate to a slice of bread making you gain 2 pounds! I can eat a cracker and gain 2 lbs. I have to completely stay away from carbs or I gain weight. -
Stalls are perfectly normal and perfectly frustrating. First and most important, you've done GREAT and should be very proud of yourself. That being said, you've lost a LOT of weight and your body just needs a pause for a minute to catch up with you. It'll start up again, really it will. Just stay focused on your exercise, water, and protein and it'll start moving again.

It's not you, it's his reaction to your changes. Men, in general, don't like change. He fears that you're changing and your tastes will change about him and you'll leave him.

GradyCat replied to amithistrose's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm too scared to go outside the USA and risk complications, but I wish you the best of luck as I know a lot of people have successfully done so. -

Completed Medicare Criteria, Next up - Surgery
GradyCat replied to Mark.olypenn's topic in Insurance & Financing
That's great. I had Medicare for my sleeve surgery a year ago and had no trouble with approval. Good luck with your revision surgery. -
That's good to know.
-
Discouraged? You're 50 pounds lighter. That's GREAT! That's PROGRESS! Keep up the good work.

Like the others said, walking is the best cure for gas and gas pain.
