Met my goal weight required for surgery today!
GradyCat replied to BoredFatGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's GREAT. Good job. -
Have to wait 2-3 weeks from insurance approval to surgery consult!
GradyCat replied to saram245's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it's a lengthy process from start to finish. My insurance approval took two weeks, but I couldn't get the surgery for six weeks because my surgeon's calendar was booked up that far out. I know patience is hard, but it's worth it, so just take a deep breath and enjoy the fact that you've been approved. -
going on vacation/holiday 7 weeks out of sleeve
GradyCat replied to slowlydoesit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You'll be fine. I went on a cruise 9 weeks post-op and did fine. I just really paid attention to what I ate. -
Super Bowl Sunday! What are you bringing?
GradyCat replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Great post, thanks! -
Did anyone go crazy before pre op diet started?
GradyCat replied to kg2519's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You mean like having a "food funeral" of a bunch of bad foods while you could still have them? Sure, that's common. -
I have lost 40 pounds this last year
GradyCat replied to AddMyVine2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's great, good job, way to go! -
Good luck with your surgery and on your weight loss journey.

Liquids Before Surgery
GradyCat replied to momof2ballgirls's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't mind the liquid-only phase because I got to drink all the chocolate protein drinks I wanted! LOL! -
Can I eat this
GradyCat replied to Getfitwithlizz_vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Soft mushy foods only at this point. You don't want to irritate your new stomach. Cottage cheese, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free popsicles, soup, protein shakes. -
Good luck with all the pre-surgery testing.
-
I have a cold 2 days before surgery! Will they cancel
GradyCat replied to lisafrommassachusetts's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry about the timing, but better safe than sorry if they have to postpone it. -
Sounds like normal post-op nausea. It gets better within a few days.

Sore Muscles 3 weeks post op?
GradyCat replied to breavsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm guessing they're sore from the few days laying in the hospital and not using your stomach muscles as much when you raise from a seated position. When you start exercising again it'll all return to normal. -
Food poisoning after gastric sleeve
GradyCat replied to lzucks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh gosh, sounds awful. I haven't thrown up since the sleeve, so I think it would be awful. So sorry about your food poisoning. -
Sure some foods will be intolerant for you for a while and some still are for me even a year post surgery.

A bill for the nutritionist
GradyCat replied to Lynda486's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist visits are free for lifetime support, as often as I want to see her at my surgeon's office. It's part of the package deal. -
Order from the kids' menu or senior menu or lunch size portions. Ask for half of your order in a to-go box for a second meal later. Just eat what you can and leave the rest.

Constipation issues after WLS
GradyCat replied to Michele_DS's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I got lucky and never had those issues after the sleeve, but my doctor had said to take Miralax if it happened. -
It's never okay to vomit blood. Get to the immediate care center.

SuperBowl food
GradyCat replied to GettinSkinnywithit's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Chili is a good healthy option. Chips with hummus? Parmesan crisps with dip? -
It's been long enough since your surgery. Should be okay.

Pre op weight loss confusion
GradyCat replied to avillemure93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it goes from your starting weight and comorbidities. -
Feeling a bit bad about what I ate
GradyCat replied to Isabelmonster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It happens. Forgive yourself and let it go. -
That actually sounds about right.

Good job, way to go! Good luck on your weight loss journey.
