    Can't vomit

Now that you mention it, I'm two years post sleeve surgery and have never vomited. But I've never needed to. If I eat something my stomach won't tolerate, like tortillas or steak, I get "the foamies" with mucus but no food coming back up but that's it. Doesn't worry me. I don't really want to vomit anyway.

    Vsg side affects

Okay, I'm two years post-op and never had that feeling . . . or rather loss of feeling. It doesn't sound right. Get in to see your surgeon and get checked out.

Oh I'm so sorry you had to be surgery and that you were sick. Please take care.

    Day 7 problem

It sounds like you drank the protein shake slowly enough. Sip, sip, sip. Keep an eye on it and try again later this morning, sip, sip, sipping. If it continues to back up on you, call your surgeon's office Monday morning.

    rate of weight loss

Everybody's body is different. 2 lbs a week is GREAT! Congratulations. Some people might lose 3 lbs, some people might lose 1 lb. It all depends on what weight you started at, how much you have to lose, and your own body's response to the surgery. Keep up the good work and don't get stuck comparing yourself to others down the road because there'll be stalls.

What to do in the mean time???

Don't do a food funeral. You'll regret it. Keep up the low-calorie pre-op diet and focus on protein and water intake. Act like you've already had the surgery and establish your future eating patterns. I'm sorry about your delay, I'm sure it's frustrating, but don't eat things you're going to regret while you're waiting.

    Pre-Op Diet

It looks like since you're asking for recipes that you aren't on a liquid pre-op diet but calorie restricted. I just stuck with the basics like protein shakes and grilled chicken. I honestly didn't cook much and relied on protein shakes. I was determined not to have a fatty liver. How about some cottage cheese? Start eating the foods you'll be eating post-op to be prepared for that lifestyle. Looks like I wasn't much help here . . . I'm not a big cook.

Its done but oh my GOD

I remember sitting in the hospital room the first 24 hours post-op thinking, "I'd never do this again!" and then suddenly the nausea stopped and everything was right with the world and I've felt great ever since. It's worth it, just a rough few first days. Think about the long run though, not the short-term.
  10. Because it's government money being used, they can dictate the rules, so you would be responsible for the 20% if you didn't wait the year without drugs.
  11. Crystal light peach tea powder mixed into water is my FAV!

    Thanksgiving

With COVID we aren't having a family get-together. It's just me and hubby. I'm making some Keto sausage balls and keto brownies and that's about it. We aren't big on tradition so not having the turkey and trimmings isn't a big deal to us. Hubby and I are on the Carnivore (stricter Keto) diet so we wouldn't be eating much different than any other day anyway. Focus on Thanksgiving as being with family as opposed to being about food.
  13. It seems as though just recently my stomach has been been rumbling, tumbling, and grumbling. I'm 2 years post-op sleeve. It's not hurting and I am certain nothing is wrong but I wondered if this is a permanent WLS thing or if it's because I'm drinking TONS of water after getting back on a healthy eating plan 3 weeks ago. Does your tummy grumble a lot?
  14. Metformin for weight loss? My husband takes that for diabetes. I thought it was weight neutral.
  15. Have you tried Volataren cream for the arthritis? I use it and take Tylenol.

    Carnivore?

Hubby and I Carnivore back last Winter and we're doing it again now with great success. I eat mostly protein anyway so it wasn't so hard to avoid carbs as I was used to them in small quantity only anyway. We really like it. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks and he's lost 10 lbs and I've lost maybe 4-5 lbs. He doesn't do it to lose weight. It really regulates his blood sugar (he's diabetic). We eat bacon and pepperoni chips for snacks.

    Uhggg...2020

My goodness, you really have been through the wringer. Take care!
  19. Oh that's just not right. Don't they have staff that does nothing but that and can get out more than 9 applications in two weeks? Dang!

    Not losing weight

Share your macros with us and maybe we can advise you. Keep in touch with your dietician/nutritionist at the surgeon's office and track every single thing you put in your mouth, including liquids. Everyone goes through a Week 3 or 4 stall post-op, but having lost nothing since the first couple of weeks is very strange. If it continues, you might want to see your surgeon to discuss.
  23. Oh I'm so sorry you've been delayed. Please hang in there and be patient and keep eating like you're still on the pre-op diet or post-op diet focusing on your protein and water intake. Avoid carbs. Don't let this delay discourage you into poor eating habits. It'll happen.
  24. I can totally relate to that. Before WLS I felt like I could live the rest of my life eating nothing but cookies and be totally happy. I still don't eat vegetables or fruit now as I just don't care for them. But I get plenty of "sweets" with chocolate protein shakes, protein cake bites, etc. which satisfy both my need for sweets and the protein needs of my body.

    Hairless after surgery

I already had thin and fine hair before the surgery so I don't really know if it got worse post-op. But I took biotin for hair and nails for two years post-op and it didn't seem to help. I did just get my hair colored to a lighter color so that the contrast between scalp and hair is less noticeable.
