Wouldn't a blockage have happened long before now if it was going to happen? Let's hope it's just a flukey temporary thing and you'll be back to normal by Monday.

Week 3 soft foods and weight gain
GradyCat replied to Avii's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's the infamous Week 3/Week 4 Stall. EVERYBODY goes through it. Your body is wondering what food is now that you're reintroducing it to your system and you body is still healing from a major surgery. No worries, it starts moving again. -
Am i gonna puke all the time??
GradyCat replied to FINFAN3DP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I puked for 24 hours following surgery but have never puked again in the two years since WLS. It's just the nausea from the anesthesia. -
Incisional Scars and Creams?
GradyCat replied to Em_Evolves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Bio Oil worked for me. My scars two years post-op just look like freckles, barely noticable. -
I'd say 3 pounds is the alarm bell for me.

I should get one. They're incredible affordable.

Under eye circles are DARK

I hadn't thought about the correlation. Interesting. Looks like from the responses several people have experienced it. -

Can I ask what had to be repaired? What can go wrong that needs repair? -
2 Weeks Post-Op--Puree time!
GradyCat replied to mlmx1138's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on doing so well post-op. I just asked my surgeon how things went inside, whether I had any hiatal hernias that she fixed, outlook for what to expect healthwise and vitamin wise. Key appointments post-surgery are with your nutritionist. -
Almost 4 weeks Gastric Sleeve
GradyCat replied to Lesliegwalker's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is she back in the USA? She needs to get to the hospital ASAP. Infection? I really don't know what this could be but I know it's not right. -
Good Morning and welcome to the forums. They were a Godsend to me before I had my surgery because they answered so many of my questions. I hope we'll be helpful to you as you go through your Weight Loss Journey. Which surgery? Okay, I thought I wanted the big one, the bypass, thinking I'd lose more weight and it'd be less "permanent" than cutting off part of my stomach for the sleeve. But my primary care doctor and my psychiatrist advised me that they opinion was that the bypass was "too radical" for my size (260 lbs) and so I opted for the sleeve. I'm very happy with the sleeve. It restricts my ability to overeat. That being said, it's a personal decision and you'll have to research all your options to find the one that you're the most comfortable with. In terms of losing 15 lbs, your bariatric office will assign you a nutritionist and he/she will give you guidelines but they are basically < 1500 calories/day, 60 g protein/day, 64 oz water/day, limit carbs and sugars and salts.

Revision date set for December 15th
GradyCat replied to Sunniblue20's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Do you have to qualify for a revision like you do for original surgery (40 BMI, etc.)? -
Welcome here and good luck with your surgery. I had the sleeve 2 years ago. One piece of advice is to not compare your weight loss and journey to anyone else's weight loss and journey. So much depends on the size you started at, your age, your gender, and a whole host of other things so you can't play the comparison game. Just follow the program and know that stalls will happen (starts around Week 3 or 4) and just do the best you can.

I've heard a lot of good things about Fairlife. I'll have to check that out. For several years I've been using GNC Lean Shakes. Will have to compare costs and taste.

One year post op health issue
GradyCat replied to Ruxa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find myself bloated if I eat carbs or carbonated diet soft drinks, so I have all but eliminated them from my diet. Does it happen when you eat certain types of foods? -
New here-Gastric sleeve 2019
GradyCat replied to Loopyjane12a's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found myself in a similar position and only three weeks ago took back the reigns of my eating program. I am focusing on eating just like I was when I first was sleeved: 60g protein, 64 oz water, low carb, low fat. Go back to the basics. Your pouch is still there and will be your best friend as it will restrict you from eating too much at any one setting. You need to cut out the snacking in between meals, though, as you know. You can do this! -
That's right, decaf doesn't mean "no caffine," it just means less. But it shouldn't dehydrate you like caffeinated coffee would. It probably won't hurt you. Drink lots of water also.

I am so done with this liquid diet...
GradyCat replied to loliver3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sugar-free popsicles will get you through this. Have you tried sugar-free jello. You can kinda chew on it. -
Having trouble with motivation to exercise
GradyCat replied to Bobbifaces's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You just had a major operation. Don't worry about the exercise just yet. And 12 pounds in 3 weeks is AWESOME! Why are you beating yourself up? Take time to heal and focus on the proper eating and when you're ready you'll get energy to exercise. -
Sorry to hear this. I'm happy to see that I completely got rid of my GERD within a couple of months post-op sleeve.

Post surgery liquid diet help??
GradyCat replied to DJ80s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar-free popsicles are your best friend on the post-op liquid diet. Variety of flavors. Sugar-free jello too. Lots of flavor choices. I also drank Gatorade G2 (sugar-free) in orange. -
I use MyFitnessPal. It's free and it measures a daily food diary, weight, and measurements.

Why different diets from different doctors?
GradyCat replied to Normandagle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All doctors have different thoughts and ascribe to different plans. For example, my doctor won't talk calories at all but defers to the nutritionist to tell me what I should and shouldn't be eating. -
Privacy concerns...?
GradyCat replied to MeTooToo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I never told anyone about my surgery, even now 2 years later. But I'm not ashamed of it. It's a TOOL. It doesn't mean we were losers who couldn't do it on our own. Obesity is a MEDICAL PROBLEM. I can understand your not wanting people to know. It's a tough choice. A personal decision. Good luck with your choice. -
What are you eating? Are you tracking your daily intake and macros no matter whether you're pre-op or post-op? Share your macros. Here's what I ate yesterday: Calories: 1075 Carbs: 24 Protein: 128 Fat: 56 Sugars: 9 Yeah, I know the "fat" looks high, but hubby and I are doing the "Carnivore Diet" right now, more rigid form of keto with focus on protein and fats and reduction of carbs and sugars. Tell us what you're eating.
