I had zero pain and zero soreness after my sleeve surgery. No problems. The only thing is the nausea for 24 hours after surgery from the anesthesia while you're still in the hospital. But it only lasts 24 hours, so it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Old at 38? Seriously? I had my WLS at age 53. I still might consider plastics at some point. It's never too late to feel good about yourself.

You don't have to use specific products. Use your common sense and make it a liquid diet of your own choosing.

You just have to walk it off/out. -

I've seen a lot of people on the forums these past two years say they're cold after WLS. -

I have dumping syndrome and it’s awful
GradyCat replied to Joce1523's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sounds awful. Do you know what you did to cause it so you can prevent it in the future? I've never had it but several on here in the last few days have mentioned it and it sounds horrible. Take care. It'll get better with time. It just has to work itself out. -
Question on clear liquids
GradyCat replied to MzLisa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, they sound clear. Even orange sugar free jello is "clear." I think you just can't have red dye because it looks like blood inside. -
15 pounds in 5 weeks is WONDERFUL! Weight loss isn't magic after surgery, it's still science.

Undecided - Newbie - figuring my way around
GradyCat replied to Blue.ring.key's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello there and welcome to the forums. I had the sleeve two years ago. No complications, no problems. It restricts my ability to eat much quantity and does its job. I highly recommend it. -
I thought of you when I saw this.

Hot decaf tea or coffee might perk you up even without the caffeine. Try that.

I'm in the same boat as you, gained 12 lbs with COVID and mental health issues. Just started 30 days ago working the program again. Let's do it together! We can do this. Hold each other accountable. Even and especially through the holidays.

You might have hit a stall which would explain not losing any more. But not having a bowel movement is serious and could possibly explain a weight gain. Try colace or your choice or laxative and if you still don't have a normal bowel movement in 3 more days, call your doctor. -
I'd say not to worry about it unless it keep happening after another week. Like others said, sometimes the vitamins discolor our stool as well, especially iron.

I loved the protein shakes, still do, I still drink at least 1 a day two years post-op. I drink premade GNC Lean Shakes.
-
Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY stalls either at Week 3 or Week 4. It's perfectly normal. Stick with the program. Put your scale away. This might last a couple of weeks and you don't want to get discouraged. This too shall pass.

Whey isolate protein powder

I never could get the hang of the powdered ones and have stuck with GNC Lean chocolate premade shakes for two years. -
All things are okay in moderation.

Post-dumping (days later) severe gas, pain after eating
GradyCat replied to gtotheb's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I''ve never had dumping syndrome and don't really know how long it lasts but I wouldn't think it would last this long. Call your doctor's office. Take some tums. I'm guessing you never want to "dump" again.😀 -
My surgeon told me the patches weren't clinically proven to be effective and not to use them

18months post op- weight loss??
GradyCat replied to Loopyjane12a's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you still following the program and adhering the the 60g protein, 64 oz of water, and limiting carbs and sugars? Try resetting your diet by going back to 800 calories/day for a week or so and reboot your diet. -
I'm now remarried to the husband who divorced me. It was some years in between, but we ended up together again in the end. Divorce sucks, but you can get through this.

Stalls are normal and part of the process. You've just hit your first one. Relax. It's okay. Stick with the protein and water and you'll be losing again in no time.
