    Nausea

Smell some rubbing alcohol. That's what they did for me in the hospital. Or suck on a peppermint disc.

    Nuts

I think you're okay when you reach the solid foods phase at week 4 or 5. I've been eating almonds since then.
  3. Take a lot of Vitamin C and rest and try to get over it before the surgery. Good luck!
  4. For me it was my brother kept "teasing" me about "our" (his and mine) need to lose weight and being fat. It bothered me because he's been nitpicking my weight for several years. And then I thought about if I had an emergency and an ambulance had to get me, I wanted to be sure the paramedics could carry me out!

    Purée stage

I never actually blended or pureed anything - I just ate soft foods like cottage cheese, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free popsicles, and the broth only out of chicken noodle soup. I also drank protein shakes.
  6. You've lost 16 pounds a month on average and even if 7 ponds each of the last 3 months, how is that a stall or a slow-down? That is AWESOME! I don't think 6 oz is going to stretch your pouch.
  7. Oh yes, I practiced for a month before my pre-op and surgery so that I'd be ready.
  8. Sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, cottage cheese . . .

    Calling Insurance Daily ???

There's no need for you to call every day. Just be patient. It takes a while.

    Frustrated

You've lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks and you're frustrated? That's A LOT! Have you ever lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks before? You can't compare yourself to others who may have started at a higher weight or have a different body metabolism. Everybody loses differently. Just hang in there and let it do its thing over time.

    Long road ahead.

I'm 54 and I just had the sleeve done in December - 9 weeks ago. You've got this, you can do it! It won't come off overnight, but it'll come off steadily over time.

    Did your voice change?

    Not that I've noticed, no.
  13. Yes, I think you'll be fine to do housework while recovering, although be careful lifting those laundry baskets, nothing more than 10 pounds until six weeks post-op. But do be kind to yourself and try to rest as you'll have just undergone a major operation.
  14. 8 pounds in two weeks is WONDERFUL! Each person's body has its own timetable and it'll come one day at a time. ANY loss is better than NO loss. Way to go! Good job! Keep up the good work!

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Oh wow, Happy Birthday and Congratulations! I'm so jealous! I've got about a month to go to hit Onederland. You're losing faster than me!
  16. If you're doing the sleeve and your work isn't super exertion like construction work or something, I'd say 2 weeks. You'll feel better right away, maybe a little tired, and you can't lift more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks, but otherwise you can probably return to work within 2 weeks.

    Gaining

Are you still keeping track of your daily food intake? Are you exercising? Are you still drinking enough water? Those are just a few thoughts. Good luck!

    Anxious and nervous

If it helps you any, I didn't have one second of pain with my sleeve surgery 9 weeks ago. Day #1 post-op was a lot of nausea, but by Day #2 post-op it was gone. I haven't had any trouble going to the bathroom, keeping down food, getting in my water, protein, etc. You can do this! Hang in there, your surgery's right around the corner.

    Where to get help

I would think that your surgeon's office could refer you to a therapist or have one on their staff to work with you. My surgeon's office has therapists we can call anytime for free as part of our lifetime support.

    First 2 weeks

Congrats on your surgery. The big numbers last a couple of weeks and then a stall usually hits once you transition from liquids to soft foods, but that's okay and to be expected. Don't rush it. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

    I just wanna eat

I'm two months post-op and I can eat 2-3 oz only at a time and I'm full. I get "hungry" frequently, but I don't eat much at each setting, getting about 800 calories/day. Sometimes I realize it's "head hunger" and ignore the feeling or sip some liquids and wait to eat until it's meal time. I'm learning the difference between "head hunger" and stomach hunger after all these decades of conflating the two.

    WOW

Me too! I just noticed the other day that I can sit cross-legged on the floor again. Woo-hoo!

    Sleeved 1/5/19 pain and emotional

It's not unusual to have constipation after a major surgery, but it's been almost a week now to time to break out the Miralax. Also, surgery releases hormones and triggers our emotions, so what you're going through and feeling is perfectly normal. Hang in there, it all gets better.

    Those nooks and Crannies

I clean the areas under the breasts with Noxema and it helps get rid of the yeast and then I use, and I swear this is the REAL name of the product, "Monkey Butt Powder" - it's a powder like runners use to avoid friction when they run
