    5 1/2 months

Sounds like you're doing everything right. I try to stay around 800, but I'm just 3 months post-op and will see my surgeon April 2nd to ask how much I should be eating now

    Pain

So sorry you're in pain. I've not heard of robotic gastric sleeve surgery. I had laparoscopic sleeve done and it went flawlessly. Get better soon!

I finally got my surgery date!!!!!

That's great news. You've got this!

    Protein Intake

My surgeon recommended 60 g of protein daily starting right away post-surgery and continuing.

    Exercise

I go to the gym about 4-5 times a week doing 30 minutes cardio and 15 minutes of strength training. I don't know if it affects the weight loss or numbers on the scale, but it's toning my skin and making me feel better.

    What will summer look like

I'm comparing a cruise photo of me 4 months ago (a month pre-op) to now and can tell a big difference even at 25 pounds lost. I felt more confident in a bathing suit this time.
  7. I use GNC Lean shakes, premade and they're very smooth and tasty. I also drank a lot of Gatorade Zero, sugar-free peach iced tea, and sugar-free popsicles during the liquid phase.

    Gulping water

I guess you could, but it'll be uncomfortable as you'll be putting too much into your stomach at one time.
  9. The only thing I wished I'd known beforehand was about the Week 3/4 stall so it wouldn't have freaked me out.

    Puree foods

    Two weeks

    How much water to drink?

I didn't do all water, but a combination of water, gatorade zero, and sugar-free popsicles, getting about the same amount in total as you

    Vitamin patches

I asked my surgeon about them and she told me not to bother with them but instead just stick with soft chew vitamins

Beginning a workout after post op

Stick to walking like on the treadmill or riding a stationary bike for now. It's too early to lift weights or use resistance machines.

    stomach issues

Mine does too, makes gurgling noises.

    Portion Sizes

I stay between 2-4 oz otherwise I get "the foamies" or feel nauseous or something.
  16. Oh my gosh, that's a LOT! Congrats! You're doing great!
  17. I hear ya! I was doing so well completely avoiding them and then I "treated" myself to a semi-health protein based chocolate bar but that just opened the door back up to snacking. I'm going cold-turkey no sweets again!!!

    Insurance changed!

Oh that's a shame. It seems like they'd count your already completed 3 months of classes as long as they were consecutive without gaps. I had to wait an extra 3 months because my insurance was changing and I didn't have time to get six months of supervised medical weight loss management under my prior policy and my new policy didn't require it.

    Pre-op diet working?

No, I couldn't tell, I just followed directions and my liver wasn't too large on the day of surgery and everything was fine.
  20. I'm expecting my mother-in-law to ask me that at some point and I'm going to deny, deny, deny. It's nobody's business and what a rude question to ask!
  21. No, I was on liquids three weeks post-op before going to soft mushy foods.

    The waiting game....

It'll be over before you know it. Hang in there and be patient. We've all been there and we've survived. 🙂
  23. When I was on liquids post-op I was getting in about 500-600 calories/day. I was drinking Gatorade Zero, GNC Lean Protein Shakes, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, diet iced tea, and water.

    Stress and poor food choices

My only suggestion would be to have a lot of protein chips, protein chocolate and other semi-healthy "comfort foods" to turn to when your stress is at its peak. Take care.

    Insecure

I haven't told anyone other than my spouse. It's nobody's business and I don't need the judgment of why I couldn't have had more willpower to do it myself or the constant staring to see if I'm losing enough weight quickly enough. There are TONS of health benefits from having WLS, so don't worry about having to justify it to yourself. Take care.
