I hadn't even thought about any discount for life insurance now based on a lower weight. Interesting.

Leg compressions were those things attached to the hospital while you were in the bed that massaged your legs to prevent blood clots. I also bought my own compression stockings and used them a couple of weeks post-op to help prevent blood clots. I've heard a lot of people on here say they're cold after they get home and are recovering from surgery. I like my protein, I drink premade protein GNC Leak Shake, chocolate and I like it.

Weight Loss Plateau
GradyCat replied to TraceyAmanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see a lot of articles online about "pouch resets" and doing a week of liquids-only. Have you talked to your nutritionist? -
I use GNC Lean Shakes pre-made. They're made with Sucralose.

Just be careful having solid food too soon; you don't want to mess anything up. Good luck in your journey.

Oh wow, what a visual. That's HUGE! Thanks for the inspiration and perspective.

Daily Nausea, Fatigue and Dizzyness post surgery with complications 😞
GradyCat replied to llewerentz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your body's just been through some major trauma, so it's only natural that you'd have some anxiety and your body develop some nausea to fight against the trauma. You're going to be tired for about 6 weeks more than likely. Hang in there and give your body some time to recover. -
People are strange, aren't they? But I guess it's good they aren't barking at us when we're fat, but they should keep their mouths shut when we've lost weight as well. Rule of thumb: never talk about someone's weight, good or bad.

Anxiety at a high - 1 day til surgery
GradyCat replied to larissasmith07's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first day post-op is the worst, but after that it's easy peasy with no nausea or pain. Good luck! -
Oh wow, way to go! Congratulations! 🏆 Looking good! I'm at 202 this morning, hoping to hit Onederland this coming week.

Gastric Sleeve in 2 weeks
GradyCat replied to nadiadaood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think they want you to say away from caffeine. -
When is your f/u with your surgeon? I didn't have any pain around my incisions or "dent" or really any pain at all. Can you call your doctor's office?

Wedding rings - what to do?
GradyCat replied to ummyasmin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had mine resized about 9 months ago when I got so fat; now they're already loose, so I know I'll have to resize them again when I meet my goal weight because I want to wear them but I don't want them falling off. -
Symptoms after post op?
GradyCat replied to Alikiinz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad you're doing okay now that you're home. Good luck on your journey. -
I'd be careful with introducing soft foods so early after all you've been through. Take care.
-
You went through a lot. Glad you're on the "good" side now. Good luck!

Sounds like I need to learn how to like yogurt as it has a lot of protein and you all are swearing by it. I just haven't found it attractive up until now.

Emotional Eating
GradyCat replied to SargentSkittles's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I try to "drink" my emotions away with some sugar-free flavored water or a homemade iced coffee with vanilla protein in it instead of eating food. -
Pre op IV question!
GradyCat replied to NoNonSense89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I'm one of those who is hard to stick too and my bruise and soreness lasted for a month or more after surgery. Hang in there. -
6 days post gastric sleeve high pulse
GradyCat replied to theskinnyme87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds normal at just 6 days out because your body is still recovering from major surgery. -
Have you talked to your surgeon or nutritionist? I'm also 3 months post VSG and have lost 35 pounds and can eat very little at a time.

How much should I be eating calorie wise?
GradyCat replied to Alikiinz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've read two articles online. One says 600-800 calories for the first year post-surgery. The other says 900-1000. I'm staying between 600-800 because I don't want to get used to eating too much and I lose more weight at 600 calories/day than 800+ calories. -

Food Cravings Chart - Do You Have Cravings? Here's the Fix!
GradyCat replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm teaching myself to ignore the cravings. I'm never really hungry, but I eat out of boredom or emotions still sometimes. Working on it and overcoming it. -
How long between “meals”
GradyCat replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anytime you get the foamies it means you're eating something your stomach isn't ready for. I eat about every 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
