    Surgery tomorrow

They said they would fix the hiatal hernia while they were in there, but when I asked the surgeon after surgery she said there wasn't one. It had been 3 years since my endoscopy so maybe it had healed itself?

    Today is the big day

Good luck. See you on the other side.
  3. Yes, it's very common. It gets better when you get to food but you'll have to increase your salt intake a little. I'm pretty sure you can have the yogurt on the liquid phase. Good luck!

    Geeky newbie here!

Welcome to the forums and good look on your WLS journey.
  5. They're not "tights" anymore! Way to go!

    Didn't Work for Me

I heard about the balloon but it's too new for me to try and I didn't want something inside of me. Good luck on your sleeve.

Weighing in at the doctor's office

I hear ya! I wish I could strip naked at the doctor's office and weigh first thing in the morning like I do at home so they could be the much lower number like I do. But alas, I'd be kicked out of the doctor's office if I stripped naked. Nobody wants to see that! Hahaha.

    Day 3

It gets better each day. The liquid phase isn't so bad and you'll fill up quickly.

    That's great. CONGRATS!

    Vomit up solids

Your weight loss should slow down or stall about about 4-5 weeks. You shouldn't be throwing up solids. Are you eating too fast?

    Gout

So sorry you're going through this. I've heard gout is painful.
  14. I thought I wanted bypass because I didn't like the idea of them permanently removing my stomach from me, but two of my other doctors felt that bypass was too radical for me and wanted me to do sleeve instead, so I did.

    PCP clearance

Good for you! My PCP wouldn't clear me, she made me get cardiology and pulmonology clearances separately. You're one step closer to approval!

    So depressed I need help

Can you go back to the basics of eating 600-800 calories a day, focusing on protein, getting in your water and exercising? It might take a month, but surely you can get back on the path of good habits and eating and be happier about your food choices. Have you done any therapy to talk about any food issues you may have that caused you to regain your weight?

    Protein shakes....🤢

I love my protein shakes! I use premade GNC Lean Shake 25 g protein swiss chocolate flavor.

    Baby food on pureed stage

I wouldn't like the texture or thought of eating baby food. I just went from liquids to soft foods like cottage cheese, soup, sugar-free pudding and I stayed on protein shakes, sugar-free popsicles and scrambled eggs.

    Water goals

Yep, gotta keep sipping every 15 minutes or so whether you feel like it or not, especially now when you're still at risk for getting dehydrated.
  22. I thought about how EMS or EMT's would be able to lift me in case an ambulance came and that motivated me to want to be smaller.

    The struggle is real...

That was smart of you to go back to protein shakes if you were feeling too much temptation. It's a marathon, not a sprint, but you've got to change a lot of your thinking and eating habits along the way.
  24. That's a good question. I'm considering a possible breast lift once I reach and sustain goal, but that's at least a year away as I'm only 4 months post-op now
  25. Congrats on getting a surgery date and good luck on your WLS journey. Yes, I would recommend vitamins at any stage. And during the liquid stage the protein shakes will keep you fuller than you'd expect, you just have to keep the head hunger at bay. Good luck!
