That's wonderful! Way to go! Keep up the good work!
  5. I wish I'd known about stalls. I wasn't expecting them and they're depressing but normal.

    Allowing for occasional treats

I'm coming up on 5 months post-op and I'm scared to death to try a "treat" for fear of it becoming a habit again. I'm waiting until I've lost all the weight and hit the maintenance phase. I eat approx. 850 calories/day.

Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing.

    Uncomfortable

I've seen a number of people here say they needed to sleep on a recliner for a couple of weeks post-op, so it must be a common thing.

8 weeks in and only lost 11kgs :(

You'll lose a certain % of weight rather than # of pounds compared to others. Also, you started at a lower weight to begin with. People lose at different rates. I've become a slow loser, but at least I'm still a loser. LOL!
  10. I too was worried about whether or not to have the surgery because I don't have a "hunger" problem but rather an emotional problem of eating when I'm upset. Plus I rarely ate food anyway, mostly just cookies and chocolate. But now after 4.5 months post-sleeve I can say that the surgery helped with those issues as well. I've learned to listen to my stomach and stop eating when it's full. I haven't done any emotional eating. I've lost 49 pounds.

    that horrible stall

I had my sleeve in December and I've been in a stall for a month now. It's so depressing and it's driving me crazy because I'm exercising, getting my protein in, drinking water, and eating around 850 calories. I should be losing! Hang in there, we just have to let this stupid stubborn stall run its course.

    Orthodontic braces?

I had a different surgery last year with braces on and it was no trouble.
  13. I was on liquids, albeit not clear liquids, for 3 weeks. Clear liquids just a day or two.

    Constipation Question

Have you tried mixing fiber in with your protein shakes? Luckily I haven't had this problem. I hope you find a solution.

    Vitamins!

I'm using GNC brand soft-chews of Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Calcium, and a Multi=Vitamin. The surgeon said I can switch to pills now, but I'm kinda liking the soft chews so I think I'm going to stick with them.

    Hair losssssssss

Mine hasn't kicked in yet at 4.5 months, but I already had fine, thin hair anyway due to thyroid issues and heredity. I take biotin gummies everyday plus my soft chew vitamins.

  19. Bring some Crystal Light (I don't know what kind of sugar it has) with you for the water.
  20. If I drink too much water too quickly I get "water belly"

    water

Drinking water increases the amount of calories you burn, which is known as resting energy expenditure Drinking water before a meal reduces appetite. Because water is naturally calorie-free, it is generally linked with reduced calorie intake.

    Eating Is a Chore

It's going to take a while for you to get used to your new smaller stomach, so it's okay that you're not getting in all that food at this point.
  23. I've had to stop the comparison thing because I can't compete and it just makes me feel bad. I can only keep doing my best and keep doing what I'm doing and eventually that stupid scale is going to move downward some more.
  24. My surgery was two weeks before Christmas, a month before my birthday, and 6 weeks before Valentine's Day. I passed up all the treats and stuck to my plan. Darn it! Hahaha
