hope the new strategy makes things better for you, keep us updated :)

Thank you. It's helpful to see comparisons. I did notice the eating a lot slower and if I have something like chicken salad (lots of dressing or whatnot in it) it's easier to eat and chew to mush versus tryingo to cut a piece of meat up and chew and take tiny bites. 1-2 ounce is about all I can actually get down if it's not in a salad or if it's not yogurt and cottage cheese...now I just have to keep it down!

  2. A nurse called from my dr office....she said the PA suggests slowing down, chewing more (like everyone suggested) and likely chicken and red meat could be hard right now- also make sure food is wet- I said to my coworker ugh wet meat- like a cat LOL

She also recommended I take a second dose of PPI at night for a week or so until my stomach feels better...so I am going to start that immediately and just SLOW down and keep trying things one at a time. baby steps it is.

  3. This is hard-- I have been lax some days about commenting and instead obsessing over other stuff...so that is my 21. I need to not obsess over things that are not in my control and just take it as it comes...day by day :)

So I ate lunch very slowly- like 45 minutes slow. Had about 3-3.5 ounces of premade tzatziki chicken salad (so good) that I got in an 8 pack at coscto (4ounces each)....and a teaspoon of hummus with 4 slices of cucumber no peel) and 3 strips of red peppers. TINY bites and chewed to smithers and voila- no issues. Almost 1.5 hours later and I have been able to drink a premier shake and a bottle of Water now. le sigh- it's probably me and my pouch having a love/hate relationship and trying to go too soon on some Proteins. Still waiting on the NUT to get back to me though.

No response to my email...so I called today and LM. Nothing yet-- dinner last night was a failure- 1 ounce of chicken thigh and about 2 ounces of soft cauliflower--- I couldn't keep even Water down three hours later. UGH woke up today feeling parched! Water is fine today and I had really thinned out oatmeal w/ fairlife milk (which I hate eating due to the high carbs, but I really just wanted something warm).

Now I am trying one hard boiled egg mashed up w/ a little light mayo and a laughing cow. sigh...what a PITA :)

    keep smiling though.

Besides feeling like a failure I have days where I'm ashamed for feeling ungrateful... like YOU WANTED THIS. Now deal with it... there are so many people out there being denied and fighting to have the procedure and I need to appreciate my journey more--and all that I've been through. I do take medicine for depression but I hope I don't have to have it adjusted. I'm just not myself yet... I'm hoping time will change that.

Maybe find a good therapist if you don't have one or a good friend to talk to....hang in there, you are doing awesome

I live about 30 minutes from Punxsutawney... 40 mins from Johnstown... about 1 hour from Pittsburgh/Altoona :) lol that area.

Thank you! I've been in bed by 6 PM most days. My mother actually called me lazy a few weeks ago. It eats at me but do I get off my butt and try? No... I need to keep positive... and I do have a few channels in mind for exercise. I just hope this funk I'm in passes and I can pull my head out of my butt...

I am clear across the State :) lol

but this weather certainly has been sucking - I know I was not up to doing much exercise but I have been forcing myself. i HATE exercise....Id prefer to sit around and drink wine- BUT i cant do that anymore so I am trying to exercise a bit since I sit on my butt allll day at work :)

I had my surgery January 2. I was in the hospital for an extra day because after surgery I began vomiting blood (it was old blood) that had pooled up during the procedure and had no where to go. I was exhausted so they let me rest. Days 1 and 2 were pretty painful. I had maybe 1 hour of lucidness on day one and I tried to call people to let them know I was OK.

As of right now, I've had to go to have a stricture stretched once (Last month) because I was having issues keeping foods down. I still do. I've been cleared to eat through all the stages however I stick to easy items because I hate feeling like the food is sitting in my stomach like a dead weight...and throwing up.

I have zero energy. I feel like a failure because I haven't begun to exercise yet--but I live in PA and it's cold... plus I do not have the extra funds for a gym membership... oh and zero energy? lol Did I mention that... I did.

I have been stalled going from 241-239--up and down and up and down--since mid-February. My longest stall to date since surgery.

I'm just not used to being so tired.

Congrats on your losses so far.....sorry for the complications you are having. I am having some issues w/ food at the moment also but I think it's likely ME....not slowing down, not chewing, etc.

as for exercise, I live in PA also and well- inside! and free! youtube is your friend. They have any level and any exercise you want to do including just walking.

You might have more energy if you do just a little exercise (speaking from experience here)- i feel 10000% better when I move a little.

You are definitely NOT a failure though.

Yeah I tried a suppository... they're honestly really uncomfortable and awful. :( do you take a full dose of miralax though? Because when I do I end up running to the bathroom and its painful plus I work so I tried to avoid any hard laxatives during the week.

Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

eek...I have not had any issues with miralax. I take a full dose if no movement for two days. But I haven't had to run to the bathroom at all. same w/ the tea. You have to experiment to find what works. Are you allowed any fruit yet?

And MIRALAX is super gentle. no cramps or stomach aches. I have to give it to my special needs son and I would not use it otherwise.

I agree with this...I also did take Smooth Move tea last week because I didn't think things were moving right and I didn't have any horror stories from that either. Didn't really do a lot just seemed to go a few more times the nex tday but nothing bad.

  11. I was told if you go past 4 days work from the bottom up (suppositories)....I haven't tried but it seems people here like them and they are not as bad as it sounds to me LOL.

But miralax every single night ( i woudl take a full dose in a warm cup of tea so I don't notice it).....has no taste or flavor but makes the Water a tad cloudy so tea helps mask that for me. Once you go and are more regular cut back to every other. I havent needed it lately but if I go two days I start it immediately....after one time of struggling and being in pain, no more for me!

    Good luck

Try slowwwwwing down. Back when I was 6 weeks post-op, I waited 10-15 minutes between each bite. If I didn't do this, I may end up going past my full point and I would feel that pressure in my chest and soon would need to throw up to get some relief. Even now, 5 months post op, I still space out my eating, but now I'll take 2-3 bites (instead of 1) and then wait 5-10 minutes (sometimes more) before I decide if I take another bite or two.

Yeah, I think I definitely need to try this! I notice sometimes I just take two quick bites before I realize what i am doing and then that just ends up badly. I ate chicken salad yesterday afternoon and did this- I was actually talking to one of my employees but it took me about 30 minutes and I ate 4 ounces of non pureed chicken salad and really just took small bites, chewed well, and ate very slow and I was fine.

I've thrown up "the foamies" (no food, just mucus) when I eat something too dense and then I know my body's not ready for it. Items include soft tortillas, steak, and ham.

NO this is full on throwing up everyting in my pouch- like today's Breakfast of yogurt and blueberries, I still cannot drink Water because it hurts every time I try--then i wait and have to force myself to throw up and it's almost like I have to really try to get the food out. it's hard to explain but I feel like i have something stuck...then out comes whatever (in this case blueberries all chewed up UGH).

    this sucks!

  14. Just getting opinions BEFORE I decide if I want to email the doctor's office. I call them about two weeks ago and they never called me back, so I figure I would get opinions here before I waste time calling them :)

6 weeks P.O today.....allowed all foods. I have been eating yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken salad....etc. Added in occassionally- blue berries, some raw veggies, some cooked veggies. I have had some experience with what I assumed was eating too fast/too much and/or not chewing enough and eventually i have to throw up to feel better.

the past week, i have throw up almost every meal with Protein in it unless it was yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna (although once I threw that up), chicken salad yesterday. This morning I feel like i have blue berries stuck and threw up a few time already. These berries were soooooo small. Smaller than my normal pills I can swallow without being sick. two days ago i threw up salmon and green Beans (maybe the beans?), then yesterday I threw up my lunch which was rotisserie chiicken (but there was definitely a piece of chicken stuck for hours...so I know i didnt chew it enough- cuz i saw it later TMI SORRY).....

any suggestions? Shoudl I just slow the hell down and go back to soft only and stop trying Proteins that are "denser"....I really don't think I have a stricture though because I am able to keep down plain cottage cheese, plain yogurt, liquids ...etc but who am I to know.

I am also not losing any weight right now which could be that I"m just not getting enough protein in or I am just stalled- but my primary issue is the vomitting almost every day.
