You see the body is a very ideal system and does not want to waste. Besides Water needed for glycogen, it also does not want to waste fat cells. When you have used fat stores in the cells it thinks 'I will refill the cells again with fat once i have more, since i don't have fat now i will hold them with water' after a few weeks of more fat loss the body will be' well looks like we keep loosing fat so i should let the fat cells go' and this is when you literally loose pounds overnight. It is called the whoosh effect and happens as weight loss happens.

awesome thanks for that article.

so this takes away from the loss until the body gets used to it?

also measure yourself you’ll see the difference

I’m getting closure to a surgery date and I was wondering how much time should I take off from work? I know surgery affects everyone differently, but was wondering what your different experiences with recovery and the standard time to take off. Any guidance you could give would really be appreciated.I would say take at least 1 month off to recover and get off liquids and on soft foods. You don’t really want to go back while you’re on liquids and your body is still adjusting and your incisions are still healing.

I am anxious about getting on this weight loss journey (yet again) and I am trying to wrap my head around how my relationship with food is going to change. Any words of wisdom are appreciated.
Hello,
Agree walk walk walk to get that gas out after surgery, I was able to start walking 2 hours after surgery.
I never experience any pain with my sleeve or incisions; it was more of the gas discomfortjenifaoh reacted to this -

Weight loss will definently help your knees out but with all the Protein intake you must watch out for GOUT....
I had it in my knees and ankles 2 months out.

Sorry to confuse.
i tend to go all liquids a few days a week which is usually when i drop the most lbs, usually i just drink my Premier Protein but i think thats what was causing my flare ups.

I'm female, and much shorter than you so definitely wouldn't cut back that far, lol. But cutting down a good amount I doubt would do much harm.
Thanks, yeah i dropped myself down to 60g a day and im eating fruit as well to fight the gout, I really didnt want to take in no sugars but i have to take care of this gout first.

Hello my fellow sleevers,
I was doing so good finally with my Water & Protein intake and now i developed gout in both my feet, It seems like my protein intake is the cause of this, Which leads me to my next question what should I consume on a daily basis.
I'm currently 2 1/2 months out of surgery and im doing great 95 lbs down since pre op.
Bariatric doc has me on 90 grams of protein and im limited to 40-50 carbs daily.... But now that i'm fighting gout i started eating fruits to fight my uric acid but fruits = carbs...... not sure how to beat it or what diet to follow.
Any suggestions ???

they are just concerned post op because of the chance you can swallow it by accident. it can cause obstruction on your new sleeve.
