I am Portuguese, living in Porto. 
I had my first surgery done in August 2011. I had gastric band procedure. It was done in a private hospital and unfortunately, the insurance didn't cover any part. It was about 8000€.
I got pregnant in 2012, and in 2013 my baby girl was born. Was able to have a good pregnancy without too much weight gain. After maternity leave, 5 months after giving birth, I returned to work, it was a good time to start getting the real use of the band, so I set up an appointment to get the band filled and started my diet. 
I lost about 50 kg, it was a huge success, but with such low quality of life. I spent my time vomiting everything I ate. Until one day my band eventually slipped. This happened in 2016, back then I had all liquid removed from the band and made a liquid died, so the stomach could 'relax' and go back to its place. It never did.
It got worse. but at that time I didn't have enough money saved to do the procedure, so I had to apply to public hospital care. It was about 2 years until I was called, this happened on the 19th of November 2018, and once the surgeon got a hold on my 2-year-old x-ray he grew very worried, and book me an urgent surgery for a couple weeks later. I still had to make the blood test exams, endoscopy, and anesthetic appointment. but it was really fast, on the 13th December 2018 I was on the operating table, and now I am gastric band free.
 
I saw my doctor February 4th, 2019, he suggests I should make a new surgery, Gastric bypass. But first, he will give 6 months of my stomach to heal. I have until then to decide if I want to take the next step.
I am weighing 86kg atm, my highest was 120kg (2011), and my lowest 65 kg(2016). My target weight is to be in a healthy weight range.
