2 NSV's at my checkup today:
    1) my body fat percentage is 31% which puts me in the "acceptable"/"average" range for women. yay!
    2) i have a thigh gap (of sorts)! had to take off my clothes and stand with my feet 6-8" apart, and lo and behold light could be seen shining between my legs (ok, that sounded weird).
  3. Congrats!

Hi there, well its been 6 months exactly for me, what a ride its been! I've lost 111 lbs as of today and 38" over all lost too...I've given away a ton of clothes, buying new ones is a minefield now as the sizes are so messed up in stores and online. I hope you guys have all been doing great, I love hearing about everyone's losses (that doesn't sound right but you know what I mean) Heres to another 6 months!

A few says ago, I rounded the corner to see my bus at the stop about 200 feet away. I ran! Actually ran, long strides, solid heel strikes, and caught it! I didn't even feel too winded afterwards. Only later, did I realize how amazing it was.

13 months post op and celebrated my 165-lb weight loss at our program’s annual red carpet event...had so much fun seeing everyone’s success!
My before picture terrifies me, my surgeon didn’t even remember me being that big!

NSVs are amazing - my surgery was 5/31/18, I reached my surgeons goal on Sunday. Down 95lbs and ready to maintain. I bought all new pants In January and they are all too big now. I am now a size 8! Never in my life have I been an 8! I was an 18-20 when I had the surgery.
I can feel actual bones under my skin - that’s new.
my goal was to be the weight I was when I was married 15 years ago. I am 25lbs past that. I have never felt this good. The best decision I have ever made for myself

This is a very non-specific NSV - but I feel FANTASTIC!
All of a sudden, 13 months out, I feel absolutely amazing.
I don't want to scare any newbies, I had issues that you are very unlikely to experience. But, I have felt so-so or downright crappy for so long that I had accepted that as my new normal. But now, I have to set the record straight. Yippee!

The length of time it takes me to eat. Sometimes i just want to hurry it up already (at which i will get rewarded with some awesome foamies), and other times I just want to just say F it, i dont want to keep having to eating this.
I’m always the last person eating, and I feel like I’m drawing attention to myself, amplified by the miniscule portions on my plate.

After goal, it was hard to Let go of the weight loss “bariatric rules” Maintaining has been a different animal.
With less surgery restriction, I had to find ways to satisfy the extra sleeve space and stay with in my calories/macros. (easy to gain slow to take off this far out)
Life doesn’t stop because of surgery or fear of old habits. We recognize the slips and change the behavior. I absolutely agree it’s not a jail sentence, I’m having the time of my life living and eating healthy. Nutrition is still flavorful. I can’t wait to start barbequing.

#4 Exercise, my favorite! I got up at 4:30 (ugh) to go the gym and work out with my trainer for an hour. 500 meters on the rower, weighted lunges, planks, Pallof presses, thrusters, dips, and some other stuff I've already forgotten. Then I came home and went for a 40 minute walk. I have crushed Thursday! 😁

My hardest thing has been the no drinking till 30 minutes after meals. I get super thirsty, and dang do those 30 minutes go by slow.

Getting my head in the game was hard at first, but now I’m used to it. I choose not to stop doing fun things because of “what if old habits come back” I believe that I am strong minded and know exactly what I have to do to maintain my goals.. I still go out with friends all the time and do other fun things and still manage to follow the surgeons orders to the T. I refuse to turn this surgery into a “jail” if not into a beautiful lifestyle change.. it’s about balancing, I still have my fun, go out, travel, eat right, and exercise etc...... 😁

ms.sss reacted to tdboutwell in Sleeves Any regrets????why and why not????
I had buyers remorse for the first week, maybe? I don’t think it was so much related to the sleeve, though. I had a large hiatal hernia that was repaired at the same time and my diaphragm and esophagus were really irritated from that. Was really uncomfortable to sip Water or even breathe, honestly.

I’m 10 weeks out now and 40 lbs lighter. I should also add that I feel like a million bucks. Those few days of buyers remorse was more than worth it in my opinion. I have absolutely no regrets now.

Ok, so I'm signed up for a course that begins in May that will increase my skills at work but will also be transformative for me. And today, at my follow up, I learned that I can take fibre supplements if I feel the need. They were very pleased with me so that made me feel good and one of my clients complimented me today.
And, I did my crunches and squats for the day! Even made it to the gym between the follow up and my first client at work today so that makes me feel good.

Soo.. this one is actually a scale victory. But I want to share it anyway!
My highest ever recorded weight was 282.4 lbs in 2010. I'm now 178.6 lbs as of this morning.. so I've officially lost 100 lbs. I can't believe I ever carried that much weight on this body. Now just 24.6 lbs to goal.
