  1. ...oh and one more thing...I need to do my minimum hour walk every day, it seems. I just don't feel right if I don't.
  2. I'm not sure if I was obsessed or addicted to eating food pre-op (I think I just made really bad choices..but who knows? I could just be in denial...). HOWEVER. Now I have a minor (ok, major) fixation with making/cooking food. Or watching endless tv shows of people making food/judging food/competing making food. Or planning out what food I will be making for the week, and shopping for it. Once made, I am a little over the top in plating said food and then taking pictures of it. The fam is often impatient with me for taking so long to get that perfect food shot as its getting cold and they just want to eat it. AND. I don't even eat it myself. Go figure. On a less crazy note, I am also very focused (read: obsessed) with measuring/weighing and recording everything I eat in MFP, as well as measuring/recording/charting my own weight and body composition stats, which I do every single day. Does that count as transfer addictions?

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Yes. I actually just made a definitive decision on this subject today and cleared it with Mr. tonite. I've decided to get an arm lift and a tummy tuck at the same time, and to get it done this August-September IF I can get to goal and stay there for a couple months before then. Otherwise, it will have to wait until January, which is the next best time to fit it in with my schedule. The surgeon I chose has an option to post-pone a scheduled surgery date (with 2 weeks notice) at no extra cost so long as I pre-pay 50% of the total fee at booking. Given that he books about 5 months out, I think this is the best plan/contingency plan for me. So next step would be to book and plop down my prepayment on Monday. Yikes. Though as I type this, I am still thinking and re-thinking this. I have about 13 lbs left to goal, and I am banking on the fact that the rest of my body stays in a satisfactory shape so that I continue to only want arms and tummy done and not anything else.

May Day #10: 10 pushups: Still feeling sick, I didn't want to do 10 pushups, so I did 5 this morning and 5 just now. And they weren't very well done either. But thats my 10 for today, so there. Yoga: I didn't go to class last night, and I wrote off today for any classes as well. I did, however, do a couple cat and cow poses, as well as 1 good 60 second-ish child pose after this evening's set of 5 pushups just to stretch. And that's my yoga for today, so there. I think I'm grumpy.

    regret not doing this sooner

If you tend to compare yourself to others (we really shouldn't, but we can't help it), this is important to note. It's comparatively quicker to lose 100 lbs when the starting weight is 300 lbs vs 200 lbs. The former would have lost 33% of their body weight, but the latter would have lost 50% But if you can, try not to compare at all...it will mess with your head ♥️

    Pain

The last of my pain to go away was on my right side as well. If I remember correctly it may have been about 4 weeks or so until it was completely gone. But it probably reached the "only mildly annoying" phase around 2 weeks.

How soon does one poop post-op?

It took over a week for me as well. And it was after days of trying various techniques to coax it out. Those were dark days. 😰

    I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

IG account: cucuBungaBirdCooks https://www.instagram.com/cucubungabirdcooks/ Ok, so I had been meaning for a long time to create a separate IG account for just my food pics, and your post motivated me to finally make one. So I just did this morning! Lol. I had at first planned to copy all my previous posts to the new account, but that got tedious, so I stopped. There are a few of them there though, so good enough, I figure . Going forward, I'll just post new ones ** note that the food on here is almost 99% for the fam, and I don't eat it (I don't even taste test them most of the time, I just get Mr. or the Kid to taste for me). When I get to maintenance I hope to start posting/making more pics of food that I would actually eat...hopefully that will be sooner rather than later!

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

May Day #9: 10 pushups...done (half-heartedly)...i think i have a cold and feeling blah. I know my pushups were bad form, but still wanted to do them, do i did. Meditate: not really into meditation, except for like 2-3 minutes after yoga classes (which btw, i’m hopIng to get to tonight, if i don’t fall asleep) B-side: i was told no caffeine at first, then after my 1 month follow-up, I was given all clear to drink it up. Though I don’t drink much of it anyway. P.S. This morning went to the mall to replace a beloved hoodie because I’m swimming in the one I have been using. And its come to this: ended up buying a Child size Large because the Ladies small was too big. What is happening???

May Day # 8 9 pushups: Done (barely)...I think I may be coming down with something, I am more freezing than I normally am today and no matter what I put on (or drink) just can't seem to get warm ☹️ Crafting: Working on the mother of all pivot tables for my client today, and if that isn't crafty, I don't know what is, lol
  13. 👉🏼 One. Hundred. Pounds. Lost. !!!

I was 235 lbs on Oct 10th, 2018.  Six and a half months later, I have shed the equivalent of my 13 year old daughter.

    That's just CRAZY 😮!!!

don't look at me, i didn't take them🤣 - 100 lbs- gone, gone, and gone - keep up the good work - congrats, kathy

  14. ah ok! 500-600 cals sounds more like it Calorie wise, that's normal for most people at your stage. Also, you lost 14.8 lbs in one month! That is actually quite a good rate of loss! You are doing great. ...now it just seems like you need to work on getting your water in. Good Luck!
  15. Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert, and the advice given below is based purely on my own experience and diet choices (high protein, ultra low carb), and may not be suitable for everyone. Check with your doc/nut/etc ! With that said, at first glance (to me at least) your menu looks like a lot of calories for being less than a month out. A rough calculation (based on regular serving sizes of your foods listed) shows you are consuming about 1200 calories a day. This sounds more like weight-maintenance level calories, and not weight-loss level calories. Also, another rough calculation has you logging in over 170g of carbs daily. You may want to bring this level down a little (or a lot!). Lose the cream of wheat, banana, sweet potato and the peach fruit bottom yogurt. Maybe sub your milk (I assumed you were using regular 2% milk) with Fairlife or unsweetned coconut milk. And easy on the avocado. You don't need to cut it out, just add in moderation. That is the best I can say based on what info you have provided. I don't know your starting weight/current weight/exercise level is, and these will also factor into your diet needs. Lastly, I am of the camp that believe it is important to meet your water goals every day and get a good nights sleep. Others have found that water and/or sleep have little impact on their weight loss, but based on my own experience, I found that both play a huge role. Oh, and get some exercise into your daily routine. It will make you feel good Good Luck!

8 weeks post and doing well

Now why didn't I think of that! What a great idea. Totally doing that tomorrow.
  17. If you like, you can post a couple days worth of what you eat and I'm sure some of the members could give their input.

    Optifast

...also Optifast has a lot more calories and carbs than other protein drinks/powders...you may want to check if it fits in well with your meal plan. I had a few extra Optifast packets after my pre-op diet as well, and I ended up giving them to the fam to drink because I didn't want to ingest the extra carbs.
  19. Yay me!  Today, I am officially no longer overweight (at least according to BMI scales).  I'm "normal" again! 😎

    Sweating

May Day #8: 8 pushups: Done! Work up sweat: I have not gone to Hot Yoga or Zumba for 2 weeks ...I've been on client site these past couple weeks and couldn't get to my normal weekday morning classes. I kept saying I would squeeze them in on the weekends, but I always end up sleeping in or having something else to do. I still go for my daily walks, which i've upped to 1.5 hours a day (approx 8km) to make up a little for it, but walking does not make me sweat. Maybe, maybe, I will try running for part of my walk tonite. Maybe.

    Sweating

omg. being cold is a common side effect of rapid weight loss. soon you will be cold all the time and your blowout will stay intact...unless you need to start wearing beanies to keep warm. My thermostat says its 24.5 degrees C (thats 76 F for you non-metric folks) in my house right now...pre-surgery, this temp would require that I be in a tank tops and shorts. Right now, I'm wearing woollen socks, quilted slippers, fleece pants, a long sleeve t-shirt and a hoodie...under a blankie. And I'm still kinda chilly.

    Calories/macros

Congrats on your weight loss! You know, if you are still losing weight and not gaining, you must be doing something right. So if you are satisfied with your loss rate, just keep doing what you are doing I'm at about 600 calories (protein foward, >20g net carbs) and at least 1 hour of some sort of exercise a day. I'm still losing, not as fast as before of course, but it's all good. P.S. your starting weight AND height AND surgery date are almost identical to mine! and I'm 15 lbs to goal as well!
  23. I officially have no butt. Other than a crease where the bottom of my butt should be, there is no difference between the back of my thighs and my derriere.  Need up my squat game...

B-Side #6 I've always liked my eggs poached or soft boiled, and still do. I looooove runny egg yolks. Here's a little bit of #eggPorn for your viewing pleasure to show you what I mean...I made this for the fam a while back and just had to video it: Smoked salmon on crispy rösti potatoes topped with a poached egg, served with sour cream (not shown). If I remember correctly, I had a couple bites of egg yolk-soaked salmon only from the Kid's plate. SquareVideo.MOV

    Not Hungry At All Hmmm

It's true, everyone's experience is very different! I'm about 6.5 months post op and I'm still don't feel hungry most of the time. Occasionally I am hungry for the first meal of the day, but that's about it. Mind you, I do find that some things look really good to eat, or smells delicious, but I'm not actually hungry and/or feel any physical need to eat it.
