I have the Withings Body+ scale (in white, matches my bathroom, lol): https://www.withings.com/ca/en/body-plus Its a little on the pricey side, though. But there are lots other smart scales out there with wifi/Bluetooth connectivity for alot less...

What % of excess weight have you lost & in how long?
ms.sss replied to Kam-R's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! Congrats on your weight loss this far! ”Excess weight” may be calculated differently from person to person. Some use normal BMI of 25 as a baseline, others may use a personal goal weight. How do YOU calculate excess weight? -
Yep. A crazy (and loud!) amount the first few months post-op, but now (after 2 yrs) it’s quieted down some. Before it felt like all day long every day, but now maybe once or twice a day. I haven’t bothered to form/notice any correlation with the frequency/decibel level of the noise with my eating/drinking habits though...maybe i should... p.s. it just gurgled as i typed this. 😂

LOVE. IT. 🤣 I'm going to find out how much my wet hair weighs today!

Hi! I'm on team weigh-every-day. Every morning when I get up, I pee, take off all my clothes and get on the scale. I'm a numbers and data kind of gal and I like (love, really) keeping track of progress over time...my scale is hooked up to an app on my phone, so all the graphing, etc. is done for me. This allows me to see any trends in weight loss/gain and make adjustments if necessary. I've been doing this for over 2 years now. (I did go through about a 60 day period when I DIDN'T do it daily, AND stopped tracking my food regularly, around Febuary-March of this year, and lo and behold, I gained 6 lbs) I understand though, that this is not for everybody. Its probably best to use the scale as often as you can stand without inducing anxiety. This will be different for everybody.

K, curiosity got the best of me, so I measured my elbow: 2 inches. Yep, still a small frame! P.S. im one of those people who dropped shoe size (went from roughly a 7.5 to a 6). I also dropped almost 1 inch in height!! Weird.

Food Before and After Photos

2 years out and I can still forget to eat sometimes! It’s almost 4pm, and while I dont really feel hungry, I put this salad together to get something in my tummy so I am not ravenous when I finally do feel hungry and overeat/eat too fast. Chicken, shredded cabbage, carrots, cucumbers and vinaigrette: 158 calories. Didn’t enjoy this salad as much as I normally do cuz it just felt like work to eat it. Will try again with the leftovers later. -

So off topic a little bit....I always thought (assumed) I had a "large frame" based on wrist measurements (I never measured my wrist when I wasn't obese, so I had no point of reference). At 5'2", my wrist had measured almost 6.75 inches. After I lost the weight, turns out I have a small frame....my wrist measures just a little under 5.25 inches now. Guess I just had alot of fat on my wrists!

Ok, so we have pretty similar starting stats (along with @mae7365, lol) Mandatory Disclaimer: everyone loses at different rates, based on a whole myraid of reasons, and one's success is NOT determined by the results of another. Further, how much, or how fast, one loses weight is a poor indicator of long term weight-keeping-off-ing (I can't think of a better word here, lol). With that said: I am 5'2" and was 235 lbs 2 weeks before surgery. I was on blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, and was borderline diabetic for a few years too. My doc tried to manage my expectations by telling me that it would be considered a success if I lost 65 lbs, which would have got me to a BMI of 31.1, and hopefully get off my medication. I had other ideas, and wanted to get down to below a BMI of 25, which for my height calculated at a goal of 136 lbs (i.e., lose 99 lbs): Lost the doc's expectation of 65lbs by 3 months post-op (and was off all meds) Lost my own personal (1st) goal of 99lbs by 6 months post-op I am now a little over 2 years post-op and weigh 115-120 lbs (BMI 21-21.9) I think its too early to tell if I can maintain this weight range for the longer-longer-longer term...but so far so good-ish. Good Luck ❤️

How tall are you?
-
Nice! Is this the GF? Pretty lady!
-
, all right! I googled "Freshwater" and HOLY CRAP! We walked by your building every weekday morning on our way to the Kids school!!!!! Soo funny. Our tree is so tall that even when I am on the second-to-the-top rung of the A-ladder (I won't go any further up!), I still can't reach the very top of it. We ended up lobbing the toys up there hoping that some would stick, LOL. In previous years, we'd drag it next to the top the stairs landing and reach from there....then drag it back. Yep, methinks you need to do more shopping to get more fitted bottoms...I'm sure your arm needs no twisting to do so, LOL. P.S. still loving that top!

I was just told to do determine for myself when I was ready to drive. With that said, I don't think I drove until about a month out...not because I couldn't, I just didn't need to. Though if I absolutely NEEDED to, I could probably have done it by about a week post-op. By then, going over bumps wouldn't have required me to hold my stomach anymore. BUT, leaning forward to close the door, turning to check my blind spot and twisting to put my seat belt on would have still caused me to wince a little bit.

Loose skin is pretty much a given with drastic weight loss for most. Like what @AZhiker said, it may not bother you either immediately or eventually. On the other hand (a la @ChubRub) IF it is in your means to do so, then getting the plastic surgery is a total game changer, in my opinion. I am thoroughly satisfied with my plastics-provided flat tummy, skinny arms and gravity-defying boobs, lol. But I do still have a saggy butt and soft-looking inner thighs...but I can live with those just fine. Whatever your path, my guess is you will look AND feel better than you do now with the excess weight, loose skin or not. Good Luck!

Ok, I’ll play! We are still negotiating whether or not to put up our tree this year cuz its huge and takes alot of work....but we are leaning towards NO...just gotta get the Kid on board with this idea. Anyhoo, for OOTD, xmas tree edition, here is a pic of the thing last year. It’s basically decorated with a whole bunch of stuffed animals the Kid accumulated over the years, lol.

Lololololzzz I probably made it sound more difficult than it really was. Should have said: lay bacon, spread meat, wrap, flip, cook and flip again. -
We were in New Farm. I remember the name of the street our condo was located was “Refinery Parade”. It was about 400m up the riverbank north of that half-submerged red “Flood” art installation (is it still there?) . The kid would climb it every time we walked by it. Good Times.

Part of the beauty of wrapping the ground meat in bacon is that it keeps it all together nice and tight, so I don't need a loaf pan: The loaf pan you see in the pic was just for forming...I laid out the bacon in the loaf pan, brushed it all with the glaze, packed the meat mixture in, then pulled up the ends of the bacon around it. Then I flipped the whole thing out of the loaf pan and put the wrapped meatloaf directly on a foil wrapped rack (with holes poked in the foil) set in a roasting pan. At the end of baking, I took the foil of the rack, flipped the meatloaf over and broiled it for a couple minutes just to crisp up the bacon ends at the bottom. You could skip this step, though, if you don't mind a little bit of floppy bacon...the rest of the bacon on the top and sides are plenty crisp. I used 1/2 chuck (for moisture/fat) and 1/2 sirloin (for flavour). If you have a meat grinder, I highly recommend grinding your own meat vs buying pre-ground at the grocery. Just tastes better. And actually turns out to be more economical. AND you know exactly what is in it...I watched a documentary once about how some meat is ground and was not impressed, lol. P.S. Forgot a step: since this was cheese stuffed, I put half the meat mixture forming a little "well", layered in some shredded cheddar cheese, the put the rest of the meat mixture on top of that. -

Cheese Stuffed, Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf with homemade Keto ketchup (BFF made the ketchup for me and it tastes just like ketchup - actually better!) One slice (as shown) is 301 calories. I had a whole slice, with about 1 tsp of the keto ketchup (I have no idea what the caloric count of this is, so I'm just going to guess maybe 15 cals per tsp). This meatloaf was crazy filling and I probably ate too much as I am uncomfortably full. Was very yum though! -
Under eye circles are DARK
ms.sss replied to Tb613's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think dark circles/sunken eyes are pretty common with drastic weight loss. Combine that with possible dehydration and/or nutritional deficiencies and you've got yourself a recipe to looking like Skeletor. If it helps any, my dark/sunken eye look went away a few months after I finished with weight loss phase...I'd like to attribute this to the increase in carbs in my diet, but I dunno.....*shrugs*
