How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

Did some reading on this one, the scale itself got pretty good reviews (the app however does not)...weight to the 100th lb on the device itself...exactly what I was looking for! If this had been available back when I was looking for one, it would have definitely been a contender. Edited to add: Hmmm.....I see that there are actually more scales now out there with weight displays to 2 decimal points!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

Alot of digital scales display weight increments by 0.2 lbs and just do some rounding. I really wanted a scale that would show weight to the 100th lb (2 decimal places), but the lowest i could find on the market at the time was 0.1 lb increments. BUT...i found out by accident that if i hooked up my scale to the “Health” app on my iPhone, weights are shown to the 100th! Not sure if ur scale has wifi/Bluetooth connectivity (or if you have an iOS phone, lol)...but if i do, it may be worth a try to set up, vs having to buy a new scale...

Hmmm...700 calories burned for 2 miles seems like alot? I was under the impression that the average was 100 cals burned per mile (a little more if u run super fast...)? In any case, thats awesome u are running every day!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

My red line is supposed to be +5lbs sustained over a few days (to allow for daily fluctuations). I like to stay close to 115, so if I go over 120 for a few consecutive days, then its time to cut cals for a bit. Though I'm considering upping my baseline these days to 120 as it seems its much easier to maintain than 115. I don't notice any fit issues with my clothes, so if I can get over the metal block about it, I just might. We'll see.
  6. Curry coconut mussels. Ate 7 of them: 115 calories. PLUS: Coffee martini beforehand (not shown): 141 calories IMG_0258.MOV

Stir fry cauliflower rice with tofu

Any pics? (we love pics! Lol)
  8. Unfortunately I don’t think it matters whether you classify them as “drugs” or not. Only matters what your insurance classifies them. Would it help if you submitted a prescription issued for the medical marijuana by your PCP? I would assume that the rules would only apply to recreational use...which yours is not. But as the other poster said above, I’m just a stranger in the internet... Good Luck!
  9. Was gifted an instant pot about a year and a half ago, and we use it at least once a week, sometimes more. Use it for meats (especially good for pre-cooking bbq ribs and ANY chicken application...even if i have to finish in oven/grill...super moist and tender!) stews/chili, mac&cheese, soups, even made a cheesecake a couple times. It IS huge though (way too big to stay on the counter, IMO), so I keep it in the island cupboards, along with a whole host of other kitchen appliances. Unlike @Cheeseburgh, im a bit of a small appliance hoarder in my old age 🤦🏼‍♀️ P.S. my one complaint, though, about the instant pot is that it is so tall that I need to stand on a stool/chair if i have to sauté stuff, or even just have to look into it... P.P.S. Just though of another complaint...the rubber sealing ring in the lid tends to absorb food smells quite a bit so I need to soak the ring in baking soda overnight to de-smell it.

Speedy recovery vibes sent your way...❤️
  11. Not in any particular order: Ice water Hot water (with or without lemon) Black coffee, black tea, carbonated water (i.e, Perrier) w/ or w/o zero-cal "water enhancers" (i.e., liquid, stevia-sweetened citrus flavourings), lemon/lime wedges, cucumber slices broth alcohol: mostly vodka or gin with low-sugar (if any) mixers, or dry red wine. **Note** I am 2+ years post op and very rarely drank alcohol during weight loss phase...now however, is a different story... I don't drink pop/soda, beer, milk nor juice if I can help it.

2+ yrs post op, in maintenance. BMI 21.5 this morning. Currently trying (albeit, not very hard) to lose the remaining 2.5 lbs from my pandemic weight gain. Here are the deets from yesterday; 1788 calories (I did go swimming for over an hour yesterday so this was likely reduced) 56g protein 120g NET carbs (currently addicted to these mushroom "chips" that are padding this number. Sigh) 67g fat edited to add: 50g sugars

    One-derland!

    Woot woot!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  14. Don’t normally eat dinner this late (started eating this a 9:15), but Mr. made another carb-heavy meal so I passed. But then i got hungry so...yeah. Scrounged these up from the fridge: Chicken, spicy sauce, Kimchi & cucumbers: 165 calories. Moral of the story: don’t skip dinner, nor go too long without eating.

    Hair Loss!

YES. I cut it to my jaw at 3 months, then to pixie-boy-short a month later. soooo much less hair on the bathroom floor, and it looked less sparse on my head!
  16. Yep, 2 years out and I still get it sometimes...though I always called them cravings (which I suppose is the same thing?) Am pretty sure everyone feels this at some point (some more than others) wls or not, big or small. Main diff is how I deal with them now vs pre-wls.

Well, duh. I was under the impression Nevada was all deserts and stuff. Obviously my knowledge of U.S. climates leaves much to be desired (apologies to Mr. Tanner, my 10th grade Geography teacher!) And yeah, u need that jacket more than I do, it was 15C / 59F here yesterday! Penis Cap. Lololololzzz

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

So i was all excited to find out if being wet made any difference on the scale. Womp-womp, it does not. Was a very anticlimactic moment.
  19. Ok, you got my attention. Crispy? or Chewy?

get in line, lady! Although, I would be willing to give you my spot in line to borrow/take the other black top @Arabesque got at the Witching (Witchcraft? Witchery? I KNOW I'm getting the name wrong, but close enough, i think) store. Is it bad that I have mentally catalogued her closet???

Yay Size Tens!!! (you could probably go smaller, though ) I am loving your jacket (the colour!), but is it cold enough to need it in Nevada? Because its plenty cold here and I could use a nice-wine coloured jacket to add my wardrobe. P.S. If that is your definition of chaos, I'd hate to show you my office!
  22. K, so both me and my surgeon calculated excess weight using the BMI 25 baseline. He (and online literature) told me statistically sleeve patients on average lose 60-70% of their excess weight, and this would be considered a successful result. I'm 5'2", and 60-70% excess weight for me calculates at a 65lb loss. 100% excess weight would have been 99 lbs. I lost a total of 120 (i did lose more if you count my lowest weight about a year ago, but that didn't last long) So to answer your original question about how much excess weight folks have lost in stages, here are my stats, percentages displayed as cumulative: Note that everyone's results will differ greatly, as we are all so different! during 2 week pre-op: 12% 1 month: 34% 3 months: 64% 6 months: 98% 7 months (stopped trying to lose): 107% today (2+ years post op): 119% As mentioned, there was a point almost a year ago that I was at 128% excess weight lost, but that didn't last long and it was just after I had plastics and wasn't eating, so....yeah. I've basically maintained 119% excess weight lost (give or take a couple percentage points) for about 18 months. So far so good...but we'll see what the next couple years will be like...
  23. So today was another don’t-feel-like-eating day until tonight when Mr made pasta for dinner that I had no interest in and so pulled these out if the pantry to eat at the table. I ended up eating a ridiculous amount (1.75 cups!) over about 2 hours of these unbelievably delicious mushroom “chips”. I think these may just be my kryptonite and the eventual death of me. 420 calories for 1.75 cups...but oh, sooooo good. I need to figure out how to make these in a lower-cal version... I realize my diet hasn’t been the greatest/healthiest the past several weeks. I blame the lettuce shortage.
  24. I think you may be right. I suppose I was more often than not a bottomless less pit pre-wls. This lettuce wrap look DELICIOUS (so does ur steak stir fry, but freshness look of the wrap is calling me tonight...yum)
