  1. @Sophie7713 thats a FEAST! Did you and Mr.Sophie have some help eating all that?!?!

    Hit onederland!

Hmmm...im generally wary of frozen pizza crusts (low carb or otherwise), so if you don’t love it, don’t write it off just yet until you make your own! Ive made it with both canned chicken and “fresh” shredded chicken and yeah, the latter was WAY better....so frozen ones may not be the best...

    Week 2 eggs

So long as you don't overcook them and keep them soft, then you're golden (you can also add a little bit of milk to the scramble so they are "looser")
  4. I bit the bullet and spent $5 on a head of lettuce (five effing dollars!). I wasn’t buying them at their currently inflated price just on principle, but I caved this morning. Ta-da! Finally, a proper salad! 206 calories. I swear I probably had something close to food orgasm digging into it. I cant wait to digest what’s in my tum and feel a little less full so I can eat the rest of it!!
  5. Bottom line is if YOU are happy with your rate of weight loss (and ur labs some back satisfactorily) then u don’t need to change anything, really. You know yourself best and can tell more than us strangers if this is a slippery slope or not. Some can handle it and keep it in check, others may have more difficulty, and should consider refraining. P.S. I ate almost 2 cups of mushroom “chips” for dinner the other day, so yeah, it happens, lol. BUT: I’m 2+ years out and in maintenance for over 1.5 years. Good Luck! Edited to add: oh, and to answer your original question: no, I didn’t eat these types of food during weight loss phase.
  6. mmmmm....i spy Blue Cheese #yummer

    Hit onederland!

If you eat meat, try the chicken crust. I actually like it better than regular bread crust! (and the non-weight watching fam likes it too, lol). 3 ingredients: chicken, cheese & egg. #yum
  8. Hi! My program allowed whole grain breads/rice/cereals...but I chose NOT to have any throughout weight loss phase (my team was aware and had no serious objections). Now, I was definitely a bread person, but I found I didn’t even miss it, and I lost plenty of weight just fine. The concept of not losing weight because one isn’t eating bread, is a new one for me...this is the first i’ve heard of this. But then again, there are many, many different opinions/positions about how to lose weight effectively...need to find one that works for you (we are not one size fits all!) Good Luck! P.S. 25 lbs in 8 weeks sounds about the average expected loss for the average person. You are doing great!
  9. @GreenTealael....same. I find I didn't have as much "time" when the Kid was in grade school so her lunches were of the lazy kind. If I had made lunches like @Starwarsandcupcakes, she probably wouldn't have come home STARVING back in the day...
  10. OMG, did a search on Amazon and there are TONNES! Didn't even know these things existed, LOL. Now I'm gonna pick up a set and put faces on ALL our food. 😂 Edited to add: the Kid just suggested I use a paper hole puncher in the meantime. Why didn't I think of this?! Would have saved me whole a lot of time and effort (and swearing, and shaking of fists to the skies)
  11. If I remember correctly, I noticed a significant easing up on the darkness/sunken-ness around 2-2.5 months into maintenance; they looked relatively normal (for me) by about 5 months into maintenance. Oddly enough, I weighed less (and still do) when my eye issue corrected itself than when weight loss phase ended.
  12. I obviously have waaaay too much time on my hands. Japanese curry with rice and Pork Katsu. It took me FOR-EVAH to cut the little seaweed accents so I’m posting to prove I did the work, dammit...lololololzzz. They didn’t turn out nearly as cute as the pics I was trying to copy, but a good enough effort, right?!?! I didn’t actually have any, save for a couple bites of the pork to check for doneness, and a couple tsps of the curry to test for taste. I’m guessing I ate probably about 75 calories worth.
  13. I hear ya. I also find that frozen vegetables often turn out mushy. Sometimes i’ll pre roast them to try to get all the water out....doesn’t always work though 😢
  14. Oh, its fine. It IS higher, but not so high that it causes me any sort of grief. Another bonus of getting my mons area stretched up is that my hoo-ha looks 30 years younger, lol.
  15. For a pre-packaged meal, that looks pretty darn good! Although I see someone carefully ate around her vegetables and created a pretty pile...LOL (I would have done the opposite 😂)
  16. My TT scar line is right about where my hip bone protrudes the most, and straight across*. My pubic hair line definitely went up higher. I have very little pubes so it isn't much of an issue, and all my underwear and/or bikini bottoms are still able to cover that area just fine without needing to "groom", lol. *Re: the straight line across: after seeing other's v-shaped incision lines (i.e., a la @GreenTealael), I would have gone that route if it was an option. Not that I wear high cut panties/bikini bottoms anyway, but it would be nice to have the option to do so without seeing the scars on my hips.
  17. Whoa. 1 hour five times a week at 3 weeks is ALOT. I wasn't doing this much until I was about 5 months out! (Though there are some who I have read doing so earlier than 5 months, but not at 3 weeks...)
  18. At 3 weeks out, all the exercise i did consisted of walking (very slowly!) around the block every day. I think I was only doing 1 lap around the block (600 metres) at this time. It was pretty exhausting so I didn't try to do any more (plus I wasn't cleared to do any more by my doc). I was cleared for all exercise at 1 month, but didn't really start anything regular (outside of walking) until 3 months. Listen to your body. If its too tired to do much....don't. You will feel up to it eventually. P.S. 12 lbs in 3 weeks is great!
  19. That's just mean. I think you may be right. And you CAN be my lettuce dealer... 😂

    Feet

SAME! I was so happy when I was able to zip up some tall boots over my calves. I barely (just barely) fit into extra-wide-calf boots early in my obesity "career", but the last years just before surgery I couldn't anymore, even if I put on one 2 sizes up. Now I can even wear jogging pants tucked in them just fine, lol.
  21. Avocado-Grilled Corn-(Imitation) Crab salad. About 3/4 cup in volume...ate it all. 182 calories.

    Decaf coffee

I was mixing 2 tsps of instant decaf coffee with a scoop of protein powder (and water) since week 2. Did it once or twice a day for like 7 months. No issues. But then, I also drank 1.5-2 litres of water a day... Not sure if there is a big diff between instant and brewed...but i also started drinking regular brewed black coffees daily around 4 months post-op or so (and still do). Are you getting any other liquids in?
  23. I ate 10 mussels (140 calories, not shown) earlier, but was still hungry so this was up next. Cucumbers, carrots, dates, cranberries, pumpkin seeds & some cheddar: 156 calories. Ate it all. So total for “lunch” is 296 calories. Im seriously suffering from lettuce withdrawal. I feel like im just eating soggy trail mix without it. 😭

    Poll

17 lbs doesn’t seem little to me. You’re doing great. I don’t know how tall u are, but we have very similar starting stats and just a diff of 4lbs in 1st month weight loss. I was 223 on day of surgery (lost 12 lbs on the 2 week pre-op diet, was at 235 at the beginning of those 2 wks). Lost 21 lbs during the first 30 days after surgery. Got to goal (127 lbs) by 7 months post op. Stay the course. Everyone loses at different rates, but if we keep to plan we will all end up at the same place eventually, just at different times. Good Luck!
