Sounds like reflux to me. I had issues with this as well...i figured out that if I went to bed on an empty stomach and/or slept with my upper body elevated it would go away (used to prop up with lotsa pillows, but eventually bought one of those bed wedges, it stays put much better than pillows)

Slowing down weight loss
ms.sss replied to clifhiker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are obviously much more mentally stable than I am. I would gladly jump ship from the shorty boat for 4 inches. H*ll, I'd do it for 2. -
Ah... I just realized you are not even a month out. In my first 3 months i didn't eat out of hunger like 90% of the time. I ate because my timer went off. Usually, (from what I've read around here), how you are eating in the first few weeks (or months for some) is not indicative of how you will always eat. ...but going to a therapist is always a good idea. Good Luck! ❤️

Slowing down weight loss
ms.sss replied to clifhiker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I have read in the couple years I've been a member of this forum, for a majority of people (mostly women) no, 1000 cals a day is not usually a maintenance calorie level. However, as indicated by @Jaelzion and @Arabesque above, they do exist...but they are already at a low-ish BMI (and on the short side - sorry ladies) so they wouldn't need alot of calories to exist anyway. As a 5'9" male, 1000 cals a day with moderate exercise for an extended period of time will likely put you in the "underweight" category eventually if you were to continue (barring any medical issues). I've read of many people (myself included) who had a meh attitude about food for months (But there are also others who did not). As people near goal, there are alot who worry about losing too much weight. But I have yet to read of anyone who have been in maintenance beyond a year who continued to lose weight to below a "normal" BMI range, AND struggling to put it back on. Of course they may be some out there who just aren't posting. Though I'm going to assume its on the rare-ish side. It is a bit of trial and error to figure out your sweet spot AFTER weight loss. I've read alot of folks post about their struggles/efforts to figure it out. It took me 3-4 months and losing a further 10+ lbs to figure it out. Even now, 2.5+ years post-op, I still go through periods of needing to re-figure stuff out, as changes in my activity level has an effect on my established sweet spot. But at three months out, with another 90lbs to lose, you still have a few months to find out how you will fare, and by then, the extreme restriction and aversion to food will likely wane. P.S. I went from eating 300-400 cals in the first 3 months to 700-800 cals by month 7 to 2000+ cals 6-9 months into maintenance. I was at 1200-1500 earlier this year (due to injury), but now that I am recently back to be able to exercise again, I am around 1800 a day. I've been within the normal BMI range the whole time. I'm female, 5'2", 110lbs. P.P.S. I realize BMI is not always the best indicator of health, but its the best we can refer to in an anonymous internet forum. P.P.P.S Good Luck! ❤️, and congrats on your weight loss so far! -
Nice! You guys should be on a magazine cover. 😍

I was going to restaurants/bars starting at 3 weeks post op. At first I just had water, then I started to just share (or steal) food from my meal companions. After a while, I didn't want to be restricted to what my companions were eating so would just order an appetizer myself (or entree if nothing interested me on the appetizer menu). If no one at the table wanted to eat what I couldn't finish, then I'd just ask to get it packed up to bring home (or leave it there if it wasn't worth eating further). Yes, servers would often be concerned if there was plenty of food untouched, which got annoying, but nothing that a "Yes, it was fine" wouldn't put an end to. I didn't feel the need to explain further. Edited to add: I just remembered I used to bring protein powders everywhere I went during the first couple months. I'd add it to my water.

Speaking of Brussel Spouts... I served myself about 1/3 of the pans contents (about 2-ish cups)...finished it all (forgot to take a pic) over a few hours. 2-ish cups of Pan fried Brussel Sprouts with Bacon: 200 calories. -

Speaking of Falafel...tonight's dinner (but made in the oven, not the air fryer, boo) Fam had it with pita bread, I had it sans pita: 1 falafel ball, a couple tbsp each of the hummus, tzatziki and tabbouleh, 3 slices of the fried potatoes; plus some red wine before hand: 503 calories for the food and the wine. I had just eaten my giant leftover bowl of brussel sprouts from lunch a hour or so before dinner, so this stuff was more of a snack. P.S. The actual falafel was super quick and easy, but all the "fixin's" took a good part of the afternoon. -
High waist-ed anything really helps to keep stuff in place an IN...particularly high waist-ed jeans because of the stiffer fabric.

I’m a grazer, and I am 2.5+ years post op. I’m eating something or other every couple hours from my first meal around noon (i’ve never been a morning eater) to about 7-8pm (I stop here to avoid nighttime reflux). Been eating like this since Day 1, it works just fine for me. If I stuck to only 2-3 “meals” a day, I wouldn’t be able to get enough calories in.... I figure if its not working, then change it up (if u can), otherwise why fix what ain’t broke?

Ugh. This is one of my pet peeves too: Bad Parkers. And Slow Drivers. And Slow Drivers Who Stay in the Left Lane. And Drivers Who Don't Know How To Use a Roundabout. Or a 4-way stop. And people who ride their brake pedal. Unsafe lane-changers. I have alot of road-related peeves, lol. Ha! forget 2/3 naked...i'm 100% naked. I take the whole thing off and hang it on the hook. Plus I don't normally wear bras when I'm wearing my jumpsuits so...yeah. I do have a "casual" jumpsuit that is like a ribbed t-shirt material and more fitted on the legs (i.e, not flowy) and this one I can just pull down like regular pants cuz it doesn't drop to the floor. But yes, I'm basically naked. And cold. Small price to pay to look taller! 😂 P.S. Also, in public bathrooms, I never "sit". I hover. Lololololzzzz

Same as @GreenTealael. But when i feel ALL those things its too late. The first thing I feel is my heart rate increasing. If I stop as soon as I feel that, I can avoid all the other symptoms. Most times I stop. Sometimes I don’t 🙄 -

No, but am intrigued. Googled to see how much it costs here...and its 5 TIMES the cost of real ground beef by weight. Man, saving the planet is expensive. Edited to add: ok...now I found that Burger King Canada sells it as a cooked burger, for roughly the same price as a regular Whopper. Something doesn't add up here... -
What is the LAST thing you eat everyday? (Not pills)
ms.sss replied to Tim C's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love these kinds of threads, lol... My last thing is usually dinner (whatever it is that night), very last bite is probably no later than 8-8:30 pm. Sometimes I'll have a snack beyond that, but very rarely. And if we are talking liquids, that's another story.... -
K, I know I already added my “why” pages ago on this thread, but thought i’d add another obvious, but not often stated “why”: Cuz I wanted to put on a bikini and feel smokin’ HOT. Health benefits and extended life are definitely great, but so is waking on a beach feeling all that AND a bag of chips.

Restrictions after Gastric Sleeve
ms.sss replied to tandrews's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My memory is a little murky too....I think I drove around 3-4 weeks post-op...I probably could have driven around the 2 mark, but I was milking it and getting people to drive me around. I mean, they offered, who am I to turn them down, lol. I only took pain meds on day 1. Note: I do remember it hurting going over bumps on the ride home from hospital...as a passenger (bring a small pillow to hug!). And in the days after, I remember it hurting a little when I had to twist to put my seatbelt on (again as a passenger). -
Nope, not me, sorry, can't help you out here. BUT...I do take stealthy pics of DIY "what-were-they-thinkings"...see if you can spot what is terribly wrong here: P.S. The triangle boob dress: I'm sure it would look good on someone. It's all in the attitude, baby.

Love your phone case. And your dress. And you in the dress.

oooooooooohhhhhhhhh. You are built for super-modeling, or wearing a wonder woman costume. 1st pic: I am in love with those mules...I love shoes that are similar colour as one's skin...makes you look, yep, taller. lolololzzz. The dress is lovely on you, and your shoulders look a-may-zing. Appropriate to be the hottest girl at a dignified event where every one is holding their liquor well, lol. Now i feel that you could probably go 3 sizes smaller to get to skankified level (if that is a level you want to go, of course! lol. its not a place for everyone.) 2nd pic: Ok, now we see where the true source of your powers lie. Your legs. They look loooooooooong alright. I think maybe you should only wear miniskirts. All the time. 😍

I wish we could target where we put on weight. I'd funnel it all to my a$$.

Ice Cream 🍨 (Häggen-Dazs Pralines and Cream). Served myself 1/3 cup, but after a couple spoonfuls, I could tell it was going to give me a dumping response, so quit while I was ahead. Ate a little less than half...put the rest back in the freezer for another time. 194 calories (ate ~1/2 of it)
