  1. First Meal of the Day: Leftover proteins from the fridge (1/2 oz sirloin steak slices, 1/4 can chunk tuna & 1/2 a salted duck egg), spring mix greens and homemade vinaigrette. BEFORE: AFTER: (ate too much, my chest hurts a little...will eat the rest for a snack later)

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Not sure why I'm always positioning my feet to stand like a dork, but here it is... (I also bought a jumpsuit that day but will likely return it...it's a yellow-gold colour and feels a little too 70's)

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

May Day #28 Confide in someone: Told Mr. that I want to get a tummy tuck (on top of the already agreed upon arm lift). Well, he didn't balk, so thats a good start... 22 pushups: Done. The last 5 or so where done badly, I recall (was getting tired). May Day #29 Help someone in need: Going to help a cousin move this weekend, will count that for today 23 pushups: Haven't done these yet, was late getting up this morning. I'll do them later tonight. B-side: Realistic vs. Fantasy Goal Weight: My initial goal weight when I was pre-op was 130lbs. Soon after the weight started shedding, I revised that to 120lbs. Now, I've revised it again to be the weight I am currently (127). I don't think I had a "fantasy" goal weight.
  4. No, no Keto, I would never be able to reach the fat requirement AND keep my protein at 60-70g. Well first, I should have probably specified that I'm talking NET carbs, so I don't count fibre towards my carb count. And since I don't eat any bread, pasta, rice, root vegetables (except the occasional carrot or radish), added sugar, nor fruit (except the occasional berry) I can consistently be under 20g of net carbs a day. I basically eat alot of protein and salad, and its funny because when I do get the rare craving to eat something, its for meat or salad.
  5. I'm also trying to ease into maintenance too and I guess right now I'm doing it trail and error...but I do track my calories and macros. My plan is to increase my daily calories by 150 every couple weeks and see if I lose/gain/stay the same. I'm not really sure what to do about my carb intake though...I was under 20g a day when I was trying to lose, but I'm not sure I want to up that number just yet. I'll play it by ear I guess. The one problem I have is that I still can't really eat much in terms of volume, and I'm not necessarily wanting to eat. It's hard to switch gears like this! In your case, where you don't track, it may be a little harder to manage or determine what your maintenance lifestyle truly is. Maybe you can add more foods like avocados and nuts to your diet and see where that gets you?

OMG I hope (pray) so too...that way my stress level can be minimized. That is what PVRs are for! The double overtime of Game 3 was happening at the same time as the GOT finale. The trusty PVR ensured that we got to see both

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Playing catch-up (sorry in advance for the length of the following): May Day #24 (Friday) >>> Treat Yourself: So I have 3 weddings to go to in the next few months. One next week, one in 3 weeks, and one in September. I didn't want to buy anything new for the first two weddings because I figure I still had a few more pounds to lose and didn't want to buy a dress only to have it be too loose in a month. Then on Friday I decided to eff it and just go buy something already! I mean, I lost all this weight, may as well show the bod in something that fits me properly. At the time, I was all "so what if I'm only going to wear this dress once"? Right? Right?!? Btw, Its size 00. WTF. HOWEVER... Just today I decided I'm going to stop trying to lose more weight...I think I'm done, I feel like I'm getting too small. So I guess I may just be able to wear this dress more than once after all >>> 19 Push-ups: Oooh...these push ups were a challenge for me this morning, but they're done. No squats or sit ups though. May Day #25 (Saturday) Get Grooming: Did not actually get grooming, but made appointments to do so the following week: Haircut on Monday, IPL for Wednesday, and henna my hair Friday night. 20 push ups: Did not do these on Saturday, I actually forgot to to do them as was busy running errands and preparing for a party at our place to watch the basketball game that night (GO RAPS GO! Btw, the Raptors finally going to the NBA Finals is a huge deal over here. The entire city effectively went nuts that night. And probably a respectable portion of the rest of the country too.) On another note: I reached my Weight loss Goal for May this day. I am now 127.3 lbs, which is 0.7 lbs less than how much I weighed when I first met Mr. 20+ years ago. He says I look much thinner than he remembers when we first met, hence another reason I've decided to stop trying to lose more weight. He also said he remembers my boobs being much bigger back then *cries* May Day #26 (Sunday) Create a Gratitude Log: - Um, no. (See "Start Journalling"). 21 push ups: Did 31 this day. I tried to make up for the 20 missed the day before, but only got in an extra 10. Good enough, I say. May Day # 27 (Monday) Write down what you love about yourself: EVERYTHING. (and even if I don't sometimes, I'm working on it.) No pushups - Rest Day: Thank goodness.
  10. Never thought I would say this, but I think I've lost enough weight.

My goal was originally 120 lbs, and I think I'm going to stop where I am (127.3 lbs).  I'm about to size myself out of the smallest of sizes of women's clothing and I really don't want to sport a wardrobe from Gap Kids (which, btw, I actually wore this morning...my jacket felt so loose on me and its just a little too cold today to go jacket-less, so I put on the Kid's old windbreaker that she wore 2 years ago: Gap Kids size 12. Seriously.  I'm wearing my kid's hand-me-downs.  What is happening??)

I don't really understand though why when I was in my 20's, when I weighed less than I do right now, was I actually bigger than I am right now.  I still have clothes that I wore in my 20's that I am swimming in these days *scratches head*.

...and since I plan to get some PS done in August, I figure whatever skin they chop off of me will get me down closer to 120 without having to lose any more fat and/or muscle and/or overall bulk.

Soooooo....now I have to figure out how to do the maintenance thing.

    October 2018 Sleevers

So did mine. My PCP was was so surprised that he ordered another round of blood tests to re-check. Hopefully it was a mistake of some kind because I don't want to go back to taking meds

What do your tattoos look like now?

I was 19 when I got mine. Its a daisy with white petals and a yellow middle...it has no leaves because I couldn't afford the cost of adding a third colour at the time, LOL. What is yours of?

What do your tattoos look like now?

I have a small tattoo on my hip/upper butt, and it looks the same as it did pre-op, probably because the area of skin where its located didn't get saggy from the weight loss, and its so small (about the size of my thumb). I don't have any before pictures unfortunately, so an after pic would be pretty useless, lol. P,S. I am mulling over the idea of getting tattoos to camouflage any plastic surgery scars I may get in the future....which actually is something you may also want to keep in mind if you are considering plastics: your tattoos will likely be more affected by that than by weight loss...

May Day #23 Learn Something New: Today I learned that my love for salad greens may actually really be a love for salad dressing. I forgot to pack the vinaigrette I made specifically for lunch today so I had to eat my salad naked, and it wasn't nearly as yum. 18 Push-ups: Done. +18 sit-ups (skipped the squats today - my poor flat butt will pay the price) B-Side: I'm partial to Dogs who Impatiently wait to watch Star Wars.

May Day # 22 Get dressed up: I've actually been getting "dressed up" every workday for about a month now. I normally work from home and live in jeans and yoga pants, so going to client site forces me clean up a little weekday mornings, LOL. It's all good though, cuz now I have an excuse to wear heels. 17 pushups: Done. + 17 squats + 17 situps

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

May Day #19 (Sunday) Take a relaxing bath or shower: That's easy...I take a relaxing shower everyday. To the point that I think our water bill suffers. 15 pushups: Done. + 15 squats + 15 situps. Also, Mr. & I went for a 15km bike ride that morning/afternoon, he wanted to do 20km, but I was all, "No, it has to be 15 to match the 15 theme" LOL. Later, we had a cooking dinner date with some friends, which was really cool. We went to a cooking studio set up with a HUGE professional kitchen, and the instructors led us all through preparing/cooking a 4-course meal that we got to eat afterwards and served drinks. I didn't eat much of the finished products, but I really enjoyed the cooking/plating aspect of it, and of course the company. After we all went to a bar across the street for more drinks and watch the end of Game 3 between the Raptors and Bucks (that was a crazy game!) Finally, to top this day/night off, we went to our friends' home to watch the series finale of Game of Thrones that they recorded (I have mixed feelings about the episode, but that is for another forum, lol) May Day #20 (Monday) Finish my to-do list: Made a conscious decision to do nothing today (see below) No pushups/Rest: It was a stat holiday for us Canadians on Monday so a rest day seems fitting. Other than to the in-laws for lunch then chillax-ed at home for the rest of the day. B-side: Is there a point in the day/week/month when you are truly hungrier? If I had to say, I'm hungriest before my first meal of the day, and once I get that in, then it's all good. May Day #21 (Today) Take up journaling: Um, no. 16 pushups: Was late getting up this morning so didn't do my pushups for the day yet. Today is the inaugural afternoon yoga class at my client office so I'll get them done then. It's gonna be weird seeing my clients in athletic wear busting poses...

I have a "would you rather' question

I am almost 7 months out, and can tolerate pretty much everything, i think. The first time I had a serious sugar food (a couple bites of a dessert of some kind, I don't remember) I had a bad experience so I basically steer away from sugar. I don't miss it. I haven't had any bread/pasta/rice/root veggies since surgery, so I'm not sure if I can tolerate those, but I suspect I can just fine. My restriction is pretty much still in full effect. I have learned how much food I can eat before I start to feel uncomfortable, and stop before I get there. I have also learned which foods are my slider foods, and which ones keep me fuller longer. I weigh myself every day and I have learned/know that if I exercise, get a good nights sleep, and drink my water the weight seems to comes off at a faster rate. So to your question, which would I rather? I'm good with the way things are, as I've figured out how to work it for me. I'm not sure if I would have learned the same lessons if things weren't the way they are, but maybe I would have learned different lessons to get me to the same end goal. At least I hope I would have.

    Sweets

Other than a couple bites of some dessert* (I forget what it was) over Christmas, I have had no sweets (or chips/candy/chocolate/junk food/cake/etc..) since before my 2 week liquid pre-op diet. *It sorta helped that the Christmas dessert make me sick - I suspect it was my first (and only, so far) foray into the world of dumping - 10-15 mins after eating those couple bites, I was nauseous for over an hour and spent an almost equal amount of time in the bathroom 😢. It was an unpleasant enough experience for me to avoid sugar ever since.
