  1. I saw it first in a food magazine at the dr.'s office a while back...I just subbed the marinade with my own homemade low-cal version. Next time though I will make the cabbage pieces smaller (maybe cut them in wedges instead), because the best part is the outer well-done areas, and the middle of the steaks ended up not as charred.
  2. YES. It was indeed yum. The cabbage is very filling though. I think I'm grilling ALL our vegetables this summer...😋
  3. First Meal of the Day: I had leftovers from last nights dinner I made for the fam: Grilled cabbage steaks topped with blue cheese, bacon & green onion. There were asparagus and soft boiled egg sides, but there were no leftovers of those this morning. (I didn't eat any myself last night because I was working on the leftovers of a salad all day) The first picture is of the cabbage steaks and asparagus on the grill (because you can't really see the cabbage in the plated dishes) The second picture is the original of the dish that Mr. and the Kid ate yesterday The third pic (not as pretty) is what I portioned out for myself today, I added some leftover grilled chicken to the meal. Ate about 1/2 of it and then Mr. swooped by and ate the rest before I could take an after picture 🙄. (So the MFP data should really be cut in half, but I'm too lazy to fix it right now...)
  4. Yum. Your miracle biscuit reminded me that I am finally allowing myself to make (and eat!) some low carb bread. I haven't had bread in over 7 months and am sorta looking forward to experimenting (and tasting!) some recipes I've gathered....

    October 2018 Sleevers

Yeah...my PCP told me last week that I have to go back on cholesterol meds. I guess I have the hereditary kind *sigh*. Also, yay @RoRoKitty, you sound/read really happy and content, congrats!
  6. Saggy Breasts? CHECK! Hair Loss? CHECK! Loose skin? CHECK! I knew ahead of time that these side effects were an inevitable part of rapid weight loss, so I was pretty much prepared for when eventually happened. Like @Diana_in_Philly said above, my boobs were already gravity-affected, so they didn't really sag much more, only deflated, nothing a good bra doesn't take care of. In all honesty, I do sort of miss some of the size (so does Mr.), but I wouldn't trade my smaller boobs for more fat. Neither would Mr. I'm way healthier now. The hair falling out freaked me out at first, but then I just chopped all my hair off into a pixie cut, which I wouldn't have been able to rock with my former bigger face. I love my hair now As for the loose skin, I am giving into my vanity and getting plastic surgery. For my arms and most likely my tummy. I could probably live with my stomach, its not so bad, really, but the arms are non-negotiable, which I hated even when I was obese. I have "un-firm" thighs and neck too, but I don't hate them enough to knife 'em out. You need to figure out what's important to you, but really, the ultimate goal would be to get healthy and live longer, right? Even if you aren't as firm and have less hair for a while?
  7. Honestly no, not in one sitting at least. Though I often fix myself a salad this size thinking "Oooh yeaaaah, I could totally eat this!" Then....nope. I'll eat it all eventually....
  8. First Meal of the Day: Grilled chicken + butter and Iceberg lettuces + red onion + goat cheese + homemade vinaigrette + homemade tzatziki (the Sharpie is for size comparison, lol) Before: After: Having one of those days where I was all jazzed to sit down and enjoy my meal, and then after a few bites was all "meh". Will try again later...

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

♥️ Wow, another month, another HUGE thanks to @GreenTealael for hosting yet another fun challenge ♥️ May Day #31 25 Pushups: Done, baby. May Goals Update: May 1st weight: 136.5 lbs / BMI 25.1 Weighed in at 126.3 lbs this morning (BMI 23.2), for a loss of 10.2 lbs this calendar month Aimed to get into the 120's this month, mission accomplished. This month, I got into the "normal" BMI range, reached the 100# loss milestone, and now weigh less than the weight I was when Mr. and i first met 22 years ago. Aimed to add another 30 mins to daily exercise. Was able to do this about 80% of the time this month, by adding another 30 mins to the daily walks. Strength training was a big fat zero this month, unless you count the handful of office yoga classes I've been attending that focus on core strength... Aimed to not miss a day of the push up challenge. Did miss one, but I tried to make up for it the next day (though only did half)...good enough! Finally, I decided to forgo my original goal weight of 120 lbs and transition into maintenance now, as I'm good where I am. ✌️ Looking forward to hear/read all the success stories/updates from the rest of you Thanks again @GreenTealael for this month!!
  10. You had like ONE bite!

    figuring out an ultimate goal

First, you look A-MAAAAAY-ZING. Good job! Second, regarding goal weight, at first I chose 130 lbs, which was the top end of the healthy BMI range for my height. Then once the weight started coming off, I lowered it to 120 lbs, which is the mid-point of said range. Just recently I hit 127 and decided to stop going for 120, because I feel like I'm getting too small for my liking. Trying to find my maintenance groove but I seem to still be losing so I may hit 120 anyway...

ok, I'l bite: what does akv stand for? (I tried to google it and all I came up with was some obscure stuff like "Animal Kingdom Villas" and "Aufgaben Kompetenzen Verantwortung")

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

May Day #30 Visit a new place: Met a friend for lunch at a new sandwich place in her office building today. I bought a pre-packaged "Protein Snack Pack" there: 1 hard boiled egg, about 2oz of grilled chicken, and probably about 1/4 cup of edamame. Wish I took a picture, it was a cute little box of food I ate all the chicken, 1/2 the egg and passed on the edamame. At $8, it thought it was on the pricey side, but it was better than the $16 cobb salad that looked like it could feed 6 people. Actually, now that I think of it, I should have bought the salad! Would have fed me for a week... 24 pushups: Done. +24 sit-ups. No squats today.

    I hate my neck

Now I'm off to research this treatment and see where its offered in my area! (Man, losing weight hurts the wallet! New clothes, shoes, makeup products, plastic surgery, facial/skin treatments...yikes.)

    I hate my neck

Dude. I totally see a difference! Tell me this RF treatment costs thousands less than the $9.5 CDN (~$7K USD) my surgeon quoted me....

    I hate my neck

Before and after pics, lol? Not necessarily your face (I stay clear of facial posts myself), but maybe an non-identifying snap of the neck area?

    I hate my neck

I've seen 3 surgeons and all three were down with doing both at the same time. Two of them said I would need an overnight stay at the hospital, while the third said he could do it outpatient. I chose one of the pro-hospital-stay guys. I'm re-thinking my surgery date though, I have a wedding to go to in September, and I think I may push it to after the wedding in case I need more time to heal....

    I hate my neck

LOL, I've heard this one before...going on an island vacay a couple weeks before scheduled arm lift this summer...if only a few days in the sun would save me from the cost of plastics...i would happily go on vacay all year long

    I hate my neck

Im getting an Arm Lift in August (this has, and always been my first priority). Am contemplating getting a Tummy Tuck at the same time. I can live with the lines in my neck. And "un-firm" inner thighs. And non-existant butt.

    I hate my neck

I hear ya. Mine neck ain't so great either 😭.
  22. First Meal of the Day: Leftover proteins from the fridge (1/2 oz sirloin steak slices, 1/4 can chunk tuna & 1/2 a salted duck egg), spring mix greens and homemade vinaigrette. BEFORE: AFTER: (ate too much, my chest hurts a little...will eat the rest for a snack later)

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Not sure why I'm always positioning my feet to stand like a dork, but here it is... (I also bought a jumpsuit that day but will likely return it...it's a yellow-gold colour and feels a little too 70's)

May Day #28 Confide in someone: Told Mr. that I want to get a tummy tuck (on top of the already agreed upon arm lift). Well, he didn't balk, so thats a good start... 22 pushups: Done. The last 5 or so where done badly, I recall (was getting tired). May Day #29 Help someone in need: Going to help a cousin move this weekend, will count that for today 23 pushups: Haven't done these yet, was late getting up this morning. I'll do them later tonight. B-side: Realistic vs. Fantasy Goal Weight: My initial goal weight when I was pre-op was 130lbs. Soon after the weight started shedding, I revised that to 120lbs. Now, I've revised it again to be the weight I am currently (127). I don't think I had a "fantasy" goal weight.
