    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Oh that's a tough one. I do love me some Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce. But I also like wasabi/horseradish-based hot sauces. And chili oils! And Korean pepper pastes! I don't think I can just choose one... I have to take it easy now though, as it no longer sits well with me , which makes me really sad. I totally miss extra-extra-spicy vodka ceasar's with extra celery salt on the rim (I used to ask them to just leave the Tabasco sauce bottle with me, LOL) What about you?

    1 Year Surgervisary

LOL, not sure if you are talking to me? But you did quote me, so I'm going to assume "yes". Sorry if you weren't! I definitely have excess skin in my upper arms and my side boob area, which I am actually getting addressed next week with an arm lift and boob lift revision! (so excited). They aren't so very bad and I can hide them pretty well, but I hate them so they have to go! My butt is also very deflated and I've got a bit of wrinkly skin above my belly button, but i can live with them .

    OOTD

Lol, it's just the cut of the boots I guess Do those boots actually fit your feet? or are they too big?
  8. ms.sss

    OOTD

Dress is definitely too big...you may be able to salvage it with a wide belt? Also, now that I see the boots up close, I think those are too big for you as well! Your calves aren't filling them out at all.

I love that you obviously like spicy eats! I also love some kick in my food, but I notice that have lost some of my tolerance for heat post op for some reason. Also, if I have too much I now get a bit of indigestion (didn't before ). Has your tolerance changed at all post op? Or did it stay the same?
  15. ms.sss

What was your diet pre op like?

I did 2 weeks of 3 shakes a day (Optifast powder + water). The second and third day was rough, but was smooth sailing after that....hang in there!

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

@Meadow76, it occurred to me that I should state that as a further FYI, the menus posted on here and most of the folks commenting are a bit further out than you are, and are in maintenance already. You probably don't want to model your behaviours with ours just yet ❤️ Rock your weight loss phase first, and you can enjoy the fruits of your labour later. You'll thank yourself 6 months from now.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

True. Though I was drinking carbonated beverages (in the form of sparkling water/Perrier) during weight loss phase with a couple drops of "water enhancers" I carry around in my purse everywhere I go. It was a good thing to nurse when everyone else was drinking/eating. Everyone's team has different degrees of opinions on carbonated drinks as well, though. My team said to stay away because they felt carbonated drinks where too filling and I wouldn't be able to fill my stomach with actual food if I drank it. Also they said it could cause painful gas. Again, I told them I was drinking it, and it wasn't causing me issues (in fact I liked the fact that it made me burp, helped clear out gas, LOL), and they were/are cool with it. I still drink it now, LOTS of it. But again, check with your team and let them know whatever you decide...

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

LOL, yes, I have no real issues with alcohol . I had my first (partial) drink at around 1-2 months. After that, only on special occasions during weight loss phase. Once I got into maintenance, I drink more often (mostly when I'm out or have company over, which is probably once or twice every couple weeks...oh and of course when on vacation!) I don't drink as much as pre-op as I get drunk much faster on much less (but on the flip side, I also sober up much faster). Now, my team also told me to try to stay away from alcohol in general, but the nutritionist only shook her head when I told her what and how much I was drinking, and my surgeon wasn't/isn't concerned at all. Check with your team, and let them know what you are doing whatever you decide... P.S. I also mostly drink dry wines and spirits/distilled alcohol (lower carb content), and I very rarely use full-sugar mixers in anything.
  20. soooo exciting! I'm next week too!!!!!

  22. Hiya! You can get Premier Protein (ready-to-drink) easily in T.O. I've seen them everywhere...it's probably cheapest at Costco, but if you don't have a membership, Walmart is your next cheapest bet if its not on sale anywhere else

    The Maintenance Thread

    No objection here. LOL
  24. I think for someone as far out as you (i.e., 4 months), maybe eat all your protein first, and if you have room you can go to town with the salad that you portioned out? P.S. I'm more than a year out, and I normally finish my greens first, if I can (cuz I ❤️ salad). But I am not in danger of missing my protein goals anyway, so it doesn't really matter for me.
  25. ^^ Second this. When I eat carbs (i.e., sugar), I want it all the time, when I don't, I don't miss it. If you can get through about 3-5 days of ultra-low carb, then the cravings will go away (well, at least that is my experience....) Good Luck!
