  1. Also something to think about before you stock up on a particular flavour of something right now: often WLS patients find that their tastes change. So what like right now may not be the same afterwards.
  2. post away...we've got folks on there who sometimes post who are working on losing regains as well (it's part of maintenance, after all)

    My new way of living

Amen, sister. Everyone will have a specialized plan that they need to discover that works for them. Long Term. There is no one-size fits all. What works for one person may or may not work for another. I'm really happy for you that you have a plan to start off with (which is so much healthier for you body AND mind). Will be following and cheering you on along the way... ❤️❤️

Aaaaaaah. Ok, well in that case: Protein Bread! Or like you said, jut cut it out. After a few days your cravings will go away Nope never tried it. I've seen it in the grocery and always linger and read the labels but have never actually put any in my cart. If I ever have a major craving (which I haven't so far) I may just have to try. The closet I get to pasta are Shiratake noodles, which are nowhere close to actual delicious pasta, but it'll do, LOL.

Yeah, I know what I stated was a very simplified assessment, and everyone is different, I get that too. Maybe I should have prefaced it with "As it pertains to me..." I am probably the average person whose metabolism is not so very disordered. Calories in and out affects me pretty straight-forwardly. Edited to add: ...or maybe i am not average and am actually outlier...I dunno? Edited to add #2: While I don't eat before noon, I do often eat up until and beyond midnight.... Edited to add #3: I also have a relatively low body fat percentage so that is also a contributing factor...?

Pasta: I had it for the first time at 11 months post op while on vacation. It was delicious. Haven't had it since I got back home. I figure I'll keep it as vacation food. (I also tried regular bread and rice during the same vacation, but surprisingly they didn't do much for me, so not eating them is no biggie) On the other hand, I know I can't tolerate sugar (i.e., desserts) in large quantities, but I indulge anyway. Sometimes its worth it, most times it's not. LOL. P.S. Can you swap out the regular bread with some no/low-carb bread? So you can still enjoy with less "carbi-consequenes"?
  8. @okayestmom your pups are adorbs. It's clear you (and your daughter and your husband) are dog-lovers! Love that Sandy is asymmetrical too. Bwha-hahahhhahaha 😂 Could you go for the walk and have someone else hold the leashes? I'm feeling restless myself these days as I haven't left the house since Friday. It's raining and slick out so a quick walk outside is a no-go. I'm resorting to pacing back and forth on the front porch every couple of hours. Mr. said I could tag along with him to go to get an oil change for his car later. I'm actually excited.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

You know, I've done the reading about the benefits of IF and all that, and in terms weight management, I have read the many success stories of others that have implemented it in some form or another and I have even noticed increased rate of weight loss when I do it. Overall though, I also subscribe to the idea that IF speeds up weight loss because at the end of the day, you just end up eating less calories. Less calories = weight loss. I don't eat breakfast in the traditional sense. My first meal of the day is generally after noon. Unless I'm on vacation or if I have brunch plans. Now on those days that I do eat before noon, I notice I still eat the same amount for the rest of the day as if it were a normal non-breakfast day. So more calories = weight maintain or gain. I know there are other aspects of the IF methodologies, but in essence, in terms of weight loss, I think the old adage holds true: Eat less calories than your body burns and you will lose weight. Disclaimer: I also know that the above statement is not held up by some, and I respect that.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

    Yesterday, Sunday, Dec. 29 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / ??? lbs (last weigh in 115.0 lbs on Dec 18th) ---------------------------------------- * TMI Alert * Now that the constipation has passed, I sort of have the opposite issue now. I pooped THREE TIMES yesterday. Not diarrhea poops, but the good S-shaped poops that come out nicely. And not just little S's, I'm talking long-ish snake-like poops. THREE TIMES. I was pretty hungry yesterday I think as a result... ---------------------------------------- 1:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + cucumber + 1 grilled shrimp + 1 oz grilled octopus + 4 oz grilled pork chop + 1/4 cup full fat milk 3:30pm - 1 oz beef jerky + 2 french macarons 5:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + cucumber + carrots + 1/2 avocado + 1oz cheddar + 1 oz almonds + 3 oz grilled pork chop 7:00pm - 1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1 oz blueberries + 1/2 oz almonds + 1 tsp chia seeds + 1 oz beef jerky + 2 Lindt Lindor Chocolate Truffles 10:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + 1 grilled shrimp + 1/2 oz grilled squid + 1.5 oz bbq pork + 1/2 oz roast beef ---------------------------------------- Totals: 1706 cals - 114g Protein - 85g NET carbs - 95g fat
  12. LOL you are right! the keyboard letters are not mirrored...now why did I think they were? ** Ok, now I've got another mystery for you. in the Before pics, my left hand had the IV in it.....and I took both sets of pictures with the same phone... ???????? ** Edited to add: just did a little experimenting, the mirror effect does not happen with the native camera app on the phone but it does happen when using the camera via 3rd party apps (i.e, Snapchat & Instagram). I'm pretty sure I used the native camera app to take all pics though, so I dunno why my giant IV-inserted left hand looks like its my right...??
  13. Lol, i had to do a double take too. Phone cameras don't mirror image subjects like regular cameras do. Look at the letters on my keyboard...
  14. So I'm hoping to wear actual pants for NYE instead of these yoga pants and joggers I've been living in for the past 12 days. So I tried on my jeans and the button closed, but barely. And breathing was not the easiest, lol. I know, I know, I'm supposed to put the tape measure away. Obviously, I'm not a good listener, as I went ahead and took some measurements. NOTE: I just realized that my math sux and that I should have stated in my quote above that my waist measurement increase was +5.5 inches (and NOT 4.5" 🙄 ) ...anyhoo, I am happy to report that my +5.5" waist circumference swell has reduced to a +2.5" swell. I'm down to 28". I wonder if when all is said and done I will get smaller than my pre-op measurement of 25.5"? He didn't take much bulk off, mostly only skin, so probably not, right?

@chayarg : have you tried Intermittent Fasting? Lots of folks on here have experienced great success with it. Basically it's time restricted eating. One of the psychological benefits of it is that that instead of thinking "I can never have this" and feel constantly deprived, it becomes more of "I can't have this right now". There are whole bunch of other benefits, as well. There is a long running thread on this topic here:

  17. The bra is a different color, but the exact same (when I find one that fits comfortably I buy them all). ...you may be related to @sillykitty ..but there are positive things about being flat chested even when I was overweight. Less sag, no under boob sweat, less weight to lift while doing a plank. I was big-boobed since puberty. Even after my breast reduction circa 2005, I still had big boobs. I think I liked them big because other people seemed liked them. They were a no-effort confidence booster. However, I love that my boobs are smaller now. Even more so that for the first time since I was like 14 yrs old, they are PERKY. Also, I don't see a flat-chested person in your pics. You've got a plenty of boob going on up there. Also, I wonder why the left side swells more, is it a heart thing? Just curious my swelling is getting better as well. The nurse mentioned that the difference in swell size in my hands could be because my giant hand was the one with the IV in it. But I dunno. The left-side-heart-theory sounds like a possibility too. When you feel better clothes shopping is going to be more fun! Oh, shopping had long ago become a fun activity for me again. I can't afford for it to get any more fun, I will lose my house, LOL. *** I forgot to ask you earlier: in your pics, you look like you are already standing up straight? How many days post op were you able to accomplish this? I am on day 12 and still can't do it....
  18. This is the one I get whenever its on sale at Costco (price is in Canadian Dollars, lol)
  19. It was 400g/.88lbs from ALL the areas in total, LOL (arms, tummy, side boob)
  20. I wasn't given any food related instructions in terms of avoiding any specific foods from my surgeon, nor have I ever heard of foods that can affect scar healing... But I was given the following tips to follow or not long term from my surgeon: massage incisions if you can stand it keep area hydrated/moisturized (I told him I was planning on using Bio-Oil, and he for it) Use silicone scar tape for 3-6 months stay away from the sun optional: cortisone shots in the future (which can be covered by insurance)

Your new boobs make your waist look teeny-tiny! Va-va-voom 😍 You look reeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllly good and I want your skirt. And your booties. Are you able to do all the things you were able to do pre-surgery, mobility-wise?

  23. Sorry everybody, I'm on a posting-spree at the moment... Here is a pic of the compression garments in play these days (I'm aaaaaaaalmost standing up straight!)
  24. Some BEFORE and AFTER / IN PROGRESS pics of my left arm and abdomen! P.S. Sorry no B&A boob pics, but I did some measurements and it looks like I went from a 30B/28C to a 30D (mind you I am still swollen so this is likely to get smaller) *image-specific comments are include with the pics below...
