    Carbs....and how much

    Yep, these were my carb intake levels as well during weight loss phase. BUT I counted NET carbs for my totals (All carbs minus dietary fibre minus sugar alcohols). Are you numbers total or NET? I stayed away from added sugar, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, root vegetables and fruit (except the occasional berry). Of course there were a few days in there when I would have a drink or a bite of dessert but these were very, very rare occasions. I could probably count on one hand how many times I indulged in carbs during weight loss phase.

    Clothes?

    I still have ALL of my big clothes. Not because I think I'll need them later, but because I have been too lazy to get rid of them. If I ever get around to it, I plan on sorting them into piles for selling/giving to people/donating. There is just sooooo much of them that every time I look at them I'm like, "Nah, not today". 🙄

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

    Yesterday Wednesday, March 4 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr4mths PO Sleeve / 115.9 lbs ---------------------------------------- Did I mention that cookies (and ice cream) are my kryotonite? Yesterday they came in the form of "Mini Sicilian Pistachio Amaretti Cookies". These are now my absolute favourite cookies in all the universes. P.S. Good news! I got 8+ hours of uninterrupted sleep last night! 😀 P.P.S. Bad news! A new section of incision split open last night! 😢 ---------------------------------------- 9:00am - black coffee with stevia 11:00am - salad greens w/ vinaigrette + carrots + pickled beets + 1 fl oz pumpkin seeds + 1 vienna cocktail sausage + 4 tbsp leftover beef Pasta Sauce + 1 oz curried beef brisket + 1/2 an avocado 2:00pm - 1/2 oz white cheddar cheese + 1/2 oz blueberries + 1/2 square dark chocolate + 2 of MY FAVE COOKIES IN THE UNIVERSE 5:30pm - salad greens w/ vinaigrette + carrots + 1/4 oz romano cheese + 2.5 oz smoked hardwood oysters + 2 tbsp tangy seafood sauce 8:30pm - 1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1.5 oz fresh figs + 1 oz blueberries + 1 of MY FAVE COOKIES IN THE UNIVERSE 10:30pm - 1 oz beef jerky + 1 oz feta cheese + FOUR of MY FAVE COOKIES IN THE UNIVERSE --------------------------------------- Totals: 1954 cals - 101g Protein - 98g NET carbs - 117g fat ---------------------------------------
  12. at least 45 mins if left on the counter, or if in a pinch, 10 mins in a covered bowl of warm (not hot!) water. ...Mr. does it straight out of the fridge too, but he brings his pot to boil with the eggs already in them.... #soManyWaysToBoilAnEgg
  13. You know what I would find useful? If food/recipes were categorized by cal or macro count... (but that might just be me, lol)
  14. Ah, soft boiled eggs are a science in my house. Both me and Mr. swear by completely different methods. Here's mine: A room temp egg put in for 6 minutes in a pot of already boiling water, then immediately into a bowl of ice water for 2 minutes (add 15 seconds for each additional egg up to 4 eggs in total).

  17. I'd say salad + egg (chaffle == egg too, no?). LOL And its an any-time-of-day-meal! (or snack ) Edited to add: I don't know if you already do this, but if you add vinegear to the water, it keeps the whites together/firmer (learned this on the Food Network a couple years ago)

    eat normally again

    I think I was conditioned into being a slow eater during weight loss phase. If I ate too fast, my chest and throat would hurt/burn and feel like it was going to explode. And I prefer NOT to feel like that way, so I learned quickly. I'm a 1yr, 4mnths out and I naturally eat (very) slowly now....I don't even have to think about it anymore. Its my new normal.

    The Maintenance Thread

    It's a date! I'm making a sweeping declaration (a la HIMYM) and promising this: Even if I am no longer an active member on BP at that time, I WILL log on here on (or around) Oct 24th, 2021 and report on my status (fatter or not) ❤️ P.S. To clarify, I'm not denying that there can be bounceback weight, only that there is bounceback weight because of a change in eating habits. If I continue with eating the way I did yesterday (2000+ cals with minimal exercise), I fully expect to report a significant weight gain on Oct 24th 2021. And I would have no excuses for the gain other than the choices I made. P.P.S. I hope you have not been offended with my personal views, and that all is cool. I'm Canadian: We hate confrontation and apologize for everything. Sorry!

    5 days post OP sleeved

    I did, immediately after surgery. I think it is pretty common...My doc gave me one of these incentive spirometers to address it. It basically encourages you to do deep breathing. Can you ask your doc for one? ....or do some deep breathing yourself? Either way, let your doc know.
  22. Yaaaasss!!! ...and no need to minimize your efforts by prefacing with "All I did...." Cutting cals and increasing exercise is an effort, and effort many find difficult to do, and YOU recognized the need to do it and YOU totally did it! WTG

    ...and who knows...maybe 1 year from now I will be 50 lbs heavier from all the whipped-cream-mascarpone filling I've been eating and be signing a different tune. ...but I really hope not, I don't want to have to buy new clothes...
