  1. That would be too cool. ❤️
  2. xxs thighs? You are TINY! Are you pleased with your results so far? Is it bikini time?!?!?
  3. Recipe? These pizza's are LOADED! They are like a deep dish pizza (my old fave) on a thin crust (also an old fave).
  4. I know I say this all the time (as do several other members on this forum), but here I go again: Everyone has to remember we are all so very different and have different circumstances that will affect our individual weight loss. Comparing total pounds lost is deceiving as a myriad if different factors affect this. People who are heavier in the onset will generally lose more total pounds. If you MUST compare (and we all know that we shouldn’t!) compare percentages and/or BMI changes. A 300lb person losing 25lbs in the first month is mathematically the same as a 200lbs person losing 16lbs. Same goes with a 6 foot tall person vs. someone who is 5’3”. Add in gender, medical history and amount of weight loss before surgery, etc., and the formula gets even more complicated. In the long run, (i.e., average the percentage changes over a course or say, a year), one will often find (if one more or less sticks to plan) that most people will end up with the same numbers, in terms of percentage weight lost. Of course, there will be outliers. It’s hard, but try to remember that this is about you, and you alone. The determination of your success is not dependent on the numbers of others. I know, easier said, right? Just do the best to u can. ❤️

  7. Ok, so this is the anecdote we always share when people find out that we lived in Brisbane for a year a while back, and they almost always ask about the weather: We arrived in July, which was winter, and we were taken aback when we saw alot of people were wearing parkas with fur-lined hoods even. We must have looked ridiculous in our shorts and sandals. But we are used to Toronto winters, so we probably built up a level of immunity, lol. Though, come summer/December I was taking like 2-3 showers a day from all the sweating. The poor Kid was almost comatose from the heat. But whatever, it was probably one of the most enjoyable, peaceful years I've had in my life, so its all good. I ❤️ Brisbane.

    IBS and RNY

I was never formally diagnosed, but I suspected it for years. Almost immediately after weight loss it went away (though this could be do to the fact I ate way less). With that said, post-wls (sleeve) I do dump when I have too much sugar.

    Leg pics??

yeah, I had briefly considered it, but my surgeon mentioned it would be the least bang for my buck given the state of my thighs at the time, as well as the fact the said they are notoriously problematic in healing. Though I have seen some great thigh lift results as well...

    Daily intake

Not counting the first couple months (when I barely ate anything), I was <800 cals a day, and <25g NET carbs a day. I basically only ate non-starchy vegetables and protein, mostly in the form of grilled chicken breast (or a protein shake)

50 Days Post Op 50Lbs gone bye bye.

That must be challenging. I see the struggles people go through when comparing themselves to strangers on a public forum. Having to deal with that at home with a loved one must be exponentially harder. It’s very kind and aware of you to recognize what your wife is going through and to have the forethought to be mindful of her feelings when around her given your successes. Plus one for the good guys! However, do continue to rejoice in your awesomeness, too, and try not to temper it too, too much. If need be, do your fist-pumping here and we’ll all give you virtual high fives. Congrats, and Good Luck! 😎
  13. Unless you are a super athlete or heavy power lifter, your muscle mass will not be much of a factor (or at least very minimally). If you are talking muscle or fat PERCENTAGE, then thats a bit of a different story, but again has little to do with determining goal or target weight (unless you are an athlete) One’s body fat percentage will of course go down as you lose weight, and conversely your lean body mass percentage will go up. Case in point: prior to weight loss, my body fat percentage was at about 40-45% (at 235 lbs). At around goal, fat percentage was down to about 12-15%. Then after PS, even though Im still more or less the same weight, my body fat percentage is now about 20-22%. Which is why, as Im typing this actually, weight on the scale is probably not the best stick to measure by. Probably a tape measure on your body parts, or how your clothes fit is a better indicator? P.S. I am not a doctor nor presume to present myself as any type of expert on body composition...just sharing a perspective ❤️

    Leg pics??

I consider/considered myself to have thick legs as well (even when I was not obese). First pic is just before WLS, second pic is more or less at goal weight. Last pic is after a tummy tuck. The weight loss did make my legs smaller overall, but I still have thicker than “normal” calves for my size (which I always had, anyway) as well as some skin-drapiness in the upper thighs. The tummy tuck, however, had an unexpected side benefit of smoothing my thighs out some as they yanked the skin upwards. If you are younger and have good genes, you will likely fare much better.

    Coughing and belching

It’s most likely gas this early on. I did an insane amount of burping the first few weeks (no coughing, though). I may be wrong, or could just me my own personal experience, but I think burping is par for the course, especially for sleevers (were u sleeved?). The nature of the surgery results in higher than normal pressure build up in there, which can result in lotsa burping (or lots of release out the other end, lol). I am almost 2 years out and I still burp like a teenage boy. Not as much as the early weeks, but enough to consider it alot. P.S. I still take PPI’s every other day.

    Weight gain.....

ding ding.... and we have a winner. I was wondering when you'd pull that one out. Only took a few posts. I knew you had it in ya and you didn't disappoint I wish you made a different response to GT’s picture. Even if you thought you were making a joke 😢.
  20. BBQ Feast! BBQ Brisket (à la Instant-Pot then finished in the oven), warm German potato salad (with BACON vinaigrette!!), grilled corn & garlic bread. You don’t see all of it, but the entire brisket was almost 6 lbs. Gonna be leftovers for days... I ate 75g of the brisket, 1/4 of a corn cob, and (oh my) a spoonful of the potato salad with a generous amount of bacon bits. This was probably the first time I’ve had potatoes on purpose since surgery, and it was meh...I really just wanted a taste if the bacon vinaigrette (which was DELICIOUS). 398 calories. P.S. Mr. was in charge of frying up the bacon and he didn’t cook it for long enough, nor at a high enough heat, hence the unappetizing pasty colour to them 🙄
  21. Lol, that still happens to me now!
  22. Excess sugar gets me almost every time (especially on an empty stomach)
  23. Sweating (I’m perfectly climate-controlled now). Hiding from cameras (I loooove getting my pic taken, like ALL. THE. TIME.) Snoring (I dont notice this, but Mr. is quite happy) Packing a sh*t-ton of clothes whenever I leave the house for vacation or a day trip (Now, everything I need fits in my purse) Being tired/winded at the tiniest exertion (I’ve got energy for DAYS) Feeling shy/uncomfortable/self-conscious (i have so much confidence now its quite disgusting)
  24. Well, to put it simply, I just try to do what I did during weight loss phase, just at a higher calorie and macro count. Similar to what @GreenTealael said, I’m not always perfect, but generally stay the course for the most part. If I notice things heading in an undesired direction, I’ll adjust.
