    Weight loss Insecurity...

Unless you have the snap-back elasticity of a baby, or have not-so-big arms in the first place, you will most likely have some level of excess skin on your arms if you lose alot of weight. I hated my upper arms with the fire of a thousand suns, and worked them out regularly (just regularly, not intensely) in the hopes that I would avoid being an arm-flapper. The result was relatively toned-ish arms...BUT with this drape of skin underneath (and some crepe-y skin on top). The flappi-ness was only noticeable when my arms were up. But *I* knew they were there, and it bothered the eff out of me. So I got an arm lift. Top pic is one day before the arm lift, bottom pic is 2 months after. I suppose if I worked my arms big enough I could theoretically filled in all the extra skin so there wasn't any, but then I'd be all Popeye looking, and that really wasn't the look I was going for.
  2. Whoa. With friends like these, I'd hate to be in a dark alley with your enemies. A lot of what I had to say about your "friends" is already wisely expressed above. I'm glad you have access to a therapist, that is always a good thing. In the meantime, you probably need a healthy dose of kindred spirits, and you will find an almost endless stream of them here. You are doing awesome ❤️

    Breaking Point

I had got referred in March 2017. Did all the stuff, and had a date set for Dec 2017. I chickened out, rescheduled for March 2018, and chickened out (again) and rescheduled (again) for June 2018. Then yep, chickened out for the third time. Then one day that summer I was at a pool party sitting on the steps of the deck putting on sunscreen. I had trouble reaching my feet to put sunscreen on them cuz of my bulk. So i resorted to bending my knee and swinging my foot behind me to reach as I sat on the top step of the deck. I happened to look up as I was doing my thing and noticed some people around me looking at me with what I interpreted as pity (i dunno for sure if that is what they were thinking, but that is what *I* thought they were thinking, and that was enough). How I felt that very moment solidified my decision to finally go through with it for reals. That week I called the centre and rescheduled (again) for October 2018. I didn't chicken at that time, thank goodness. Zero regrets, and haven't looked back since.

    Jealous Spouse

I was "normal" sized when we met (around 125 lbs, if I remember correctly). I started my steady weight gaining after I popped out The Kid 8 years later. I've read alot about spouses/partners of those who have lost weight say similar things (i.e., not liking skinny women/men). Which to me is kinda douchey. I mean, if Mr. told me he doesn't like fat women when I gained my 100+ lbs, I'd be doing some serious re-evaluating. Though I suppose until you guys have a real conversation about it, maybe just give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that yes, while he gets turned on abstractly by a relatively bigger physique, in no way does it affect how he feels and is attracted to YOU. P.S. your pic reminds me of Julianna Margulies (the ER actress)!

    Jealous Spouse

So I often chat with Mr. about the goings-on on this forum. Especially since i'm on here like ALL. THE. TIME. (yep, I'm a BP addict), and given Pandemic In The Wintertime, it is one of my main sources of non-family contact/socialization these days! Anyhoo, I brought this particular thread up with him last night/this morning and asked if he had any concerns or objections to my current wardrobe. He is a very easy-going and chill kind of guy so this never occurred to me that it would even be an issue, nor did he ever bring it up or show any indication of it being so. And he was all, "why would it bother me?" He pointed out that since the weight loss, I've been dressing more like I was when we first started dating almost 25 years ago, with the confidence to match. And that it was a good thing (I ❤️ my Mr.). He also said that during the years I was "unhealthy" (aside: he never says "fat" or "obese" or "big" to me), I was dressing more like my mother, which was not as good a thing, LOLOLOLOLzzzz, and that I would often say I hate my clothes, I have nothing to wear, avoid being in pictures, and be generally annoyed. So yeah, why would it bother him? So long story short, having a happy/confident/at-peace spouse is a win all around, and if it takes a stripper outfit to do it, then so be it. P.S. at the same time, the non-stripper spouse my feel threatened/scared/insecure but this is a relationship issue, not a weight loss/choice of dress issue. P.P.S. Of course, it doesn't have to be a stripper outfit! LOL, a head-to-toe wrap, or a suit of armour is just as good, so long as the FEELS are there. ❤️

The top is from Shein.com ($11 CAD!!) https://ca.shein.com/Scalloped-Hem-Self-Tie-Crocheted-Halter-Top-p-467624-cat-2291.html ...but the pants I got from side of the road market while on vacation, lol. P.S. @catwoman7, I DO have a top like that orange print one (but mine is white and gauzy). I went looking for it to take a pic of, but I suspect my Kid stole it and is now lost in her sea of closet clothes. 😂 We'll see if she can turn it up.

    Canada? Anyone?

Hi! Wow, 7-10 years is a long time! I had my sleeve done with Dr. David Starr in Toronto...but through provincial insurance, so I didn't really pick him, he was assigned to me, and had no complaints. He's lovely. I don't know what his wait times would be for self-pay, though...I'm assuming it would be quicker, so long as his case load is not too heavy.

    Meal timeframes

Ugh, it took me a loooooooong time. The first 6 months or so it took me 1 to 1.5 hours. I'm 2+ years out now, and I am faster, but still slower than those around me....about 45 mins or so.
  20. Ok, I made these yesterday, but had to let it refrigerate overnight before taking them out of the springform pans. Woke up this morning and found out Mr. ate one of the mini-ones out of the pan as a midnight snack. Arg! I was giving those minis away!!! Anyhoo...am pretty proud of these guys: White Chocolate Amaretto Cheesecakes! I ate 1/3 of 1/4 of the big one: a whopping 315 calories, which basically amounted to like 3 bites, boo! That tiny little dish its in is a sushi soy sauce plate. I thought if I used a tiny dish, I wouldn't fill it up too much unnecessarily, lol. Its been over an hour since I ate it, and no dumping in sight, so that's a win, yay! Going to deliver the minis and a chunk of the big one to fam and friends after dinner tonite.
  21. LOL, i think that is what I made as the recipe called for sour oranges! I didn't put the orange juice on though, just left it on the side. Which was a good thing as the fam didn't care for it. The pork itself wasn't sweet at all...but I'm assuming you are asking about the pineapple? Which, yes, it was sweet-ish...I added onion and spices to savoury it up a bit, lol. Is your friend Vietnamese? I would LOVE for someone to come over and cook me up some authentic Pho!!

Would you believe that toenail polish was from a pedicure I got last september?! LOL (with no chance to get a refreshed one cuz all the salons are closed) And yeah, my toe pain sucks, its been cutting my runs/walks super short...though I probably should not be running/walking at all...unless I am wearing open toe shoes...le sigh. Anyhoo...I believe I remember this dress and oohing over it last year? Methinks it looks a little bigger on you? Or is that just my imagination?
