Loving life, feeling amazing, 9 months post op check in :)
Well guys this is my monthly check in or check up. i hope I'm able to offer some inspiration to those who are yet to have surgery or still deciding. But I have got to say this roux en Y gastric bypass operation has saved my life!!! It's officially 9 months since I had my surgery here in Australia and it has been amazing, a breeze, no issues at all and lost weight consistently every month. I've been in maintenance now 3 months pretty much with my weight sitting on average 165lbs but I've also seen 163,164 and 165. i still weigh myself most days; it's a habit. i don't worry about logging my food but I do keep a mental note of my intake calories; I still use shakes most days as some days I'm not hungry but others day I am really hungry... I can eat mostly anything without any major issues and my weight has not changed at all which is great. So 9 months since surgery and 11 months since preop diet. Feeling amazing; looking great; starting to feel confident finally and my birthday coming very soon. Had to buy some more clothes once again even though my weight isn't changing I think my body composition is changing like overtime your skin may retract and I think mine is doing it naturally or via gravity either way it's Great. 159lbs lost at my lowest weight but as I said my weight can vary a few lbs from day to day. I'll be 36 very soon but I look and feel 26 and can't wait to start living life and finding a lovely lady. My journey is over but I still have to keep focused and make sure I monitor my weight for the long term. i just want to say it is possible to be successful. It is possible to lose ALL your excess weight and keep it off... Thank you. Photos attached Positive feedback appreciated.

First Post-Op Visit
Every time I saw the surgeon he checked my weight I mean I was excited to show him anyway plus he had a big electronic scale in the room. I had already lost 65lbs before surgery anyway and I've now lost a total of 158lbs

Please help. I can’t eat healthy
Your surgeon really NEEDS to fix this something must be wrong internally that is not normal at all

Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve
Don't stress over never had that happen but I'm usually home anyways when I eat... It's just like any normal diarrhoea symptoms so you know when it happens your stomach will react first

Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve
He may be right but it is known if you already have reflux it is an issue I've read 100s of posts about people actually suffering from reflux only because of the sleeve so it is your choice in the end good luck ?

having trouble breaking 400 calories
I was on shakes for months and only taking Max 500kcal and 100g protein and I was fine losing weight well..

Protein suggestions
Maybe it is the whey you might need pea or isolate which is less lactose? Or some people can get protein water?

Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve
Dumping is not that bad just makes you avoid certain foods.. that is the only issue I've had and I've lost weight really well and kept it off now for months I lost over 150lbs which is all my excess weight and I've never done that before...
-
Please help. I can’t eat healthy
You know what you're doing is completely undoing your surgery.... You need to complete change your mind frame and throw out all the bad foods.. Nobody else can do it for you

Paying for WLS
I had insurance with a gap of $4000- which covered everything and all surgeon appointments for life
-
Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve
Well if reflux is your issue the sleeve won't help it... It's a known fact sleeve will make it worse... Your surgeon should have told you... I've had bypass nearly 9 months ago with not one single problem except some dumping but that's expected...
