    Hey everyone!

I start my 2 week liquid diet on 6/24, so I'm trying to get my ducks in a row now. I know a lot of people use the ready to drink Protein Shakes, but I was wondering if anyone has any go-to Protein shakes they make on their own with Protein Powder. I usually make almost a smoothie with Protein powder, with yogurt and fruit, but my nut told me I won't be able to add the fruit on the liquid diet. The thought of just adding protein powder to almond milk grosses me out for some reason, so I figured I'd ask for some suggestions. TIA 😊

I've been using powder for months.. easy to use mix with Water sometimes a shot of coffee if needed.... But yes you can make smoothie or even make protein pancake.

I am just over 1 year post vsg and I have not hit my goal. My weight loss is VERY slow/stalled right now. I have been feeling extremely discouraged; however, I am still working very hard to lose the remaining pounds.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
Did you change your diet to speed up weight loss? If so, how? What is your diet? What are your macros like?
Do you have any tips to help me reach my goal?

    Thanks!

Yes look at your daily calories. Carbs. Fat etc

Hi All, I am curious of what I can eat and what can I not eat. I do have a very small list from my doctor but I am curious if I can eat ground beef, or popcorn, and other things. Can you all share some of the things you all ate at 5 weeks post op. Thank!

You're still very early do not rush anything take your time enjoy the honeymoon phase

  4. I do not get the need to rush your diet or advance to real food.. you should embrace the liquid diet as long as it's can seriously that is the best time to shed the most weight... I personally had no desire to eat after my bypass and I lived on shakes for months post op and pre-op shakes and it worked wonders for me... All you need is Protein that's most important to heal your body and to recover and I lived off high protein low carb shakes and I lost a lot of weight they way didn't even care about eating food...

Since I'm about 10 days away from a bypass I'd love to hear from the Veteran Bypassers but of course Sleevers too as I know it's not THAT different.

I think what keeps me awake at night is the LOSS of the joy I receive celebrating with food or splurging as a Foodie with my husband (naturally trim) or the joy of treats with my children. I don't need the speech about finding joy in other things. I get that. And I know food has been an anchor to me for many years now. A burden. But I do also get great joy from it. From looking forward to it. Even during my years of temporarily successful Weight Watchers attempts I could save points for a big treat on the weekend and felt great joy in looking forward to that bowl of ice cream or fried chicken and potatoes. In fact, it's the first thing my physician-husband (who recommends WLS to his patients) said to me when I told him I was considering the surgery ... "But... food makes you happy." So... I guess I'd like to hear from those who have found a way to still find JOY in their food. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Don't stress I had bypass and I'm glad I don't feel the need to turn to food 8 literally eat because I need the Protein. I don't really feel the need to eat constantly like I used to and I'm glad.
