Cheating on Pre-Op Liver Shrinking Diet

Yeah so true I've read many times people doing the wrong thing instead of going stage by stage from liquids they jump to eating solid too soon I don't see the point going through all this surgery and costs just to continue to make the wrong choices. You have to be completely prepared to change your whole life and everything you put in your body for the surgery, not just for health but because you can do damage if you skip steps.. I say to those people do more research before committing to surgery!! I've personally been researching for months reading 100s of posts and articles..

Cheating on Pre-Op Liver Shrinking Diet

Wow ive been told pre-op is just liquid protein 2-3x day protein shake and then maybe one small can tuna or Salmon... Only high protein no fat no carbs. How will you survive on the post op liquids and mush for the first few weeks because if you try eat proper food you could damage your new stomach!!!!!!
  5. Had my first initial appointment with the surgeons dr. I had to do an assessment and discussion with this doctor he works with the surgeon and assists him. If anyone is from Adelaide Australia and looking at surgery I suggest you look into Ashford hospital bariatrics. I will meet the surgeon next time but for a first impression face to face with this doctor he was so friendly open to the point he listened to everything I had to say he was impressed with how much I knew and I told him I've been researching everything for months and he agreed with me about the RNY mostly because of how bad my diabetes type2 is that's number one, we had a good discussion he was so easy to get along with and I've dealt with many doctors in my life. I was very happy with the process he said I can make the next appointment with the surgeon closer to my date and he will discuss my case with the surgeon Dr Teague but he can't see any reason why the bypass won't happen! This is the full process literally; see him today, see him and surgeon Next time, see dietitian to discuss pre-op diet, have the surgery see the dietitian at least once post op, obviously come in for checkups post op I was so happy, he said there may be others that have lower prices but they aren't as well trained and one surgeon actually had never been trained and got in big trouble years back but his surgery and Ashford have many good reviews and he was very professional but being in Australia I still have six months waiting period before insurance will cover the surgery then I pay a gap of $4000 that's everything. I really feel bad for some of the hoops American insurance companies have I'm glad it's more straightforward with the surgeon I've chosen.

  7. I'm really looking for anybody who lives with any kind of condition of the kidneys and if they were able to qualify for RNY BYPASS, I'M getting very close to seeing a surgeon and I really want to know more I don't want to have any issues with qualifying for the RNY. The main issue with me is I have to take high doses of potassium everyday because my body secretes potassium much more than any normal person because of my kidneys not functioning 100% and I know my meds are sustained release but I have found an alternative of there is any issues with my current medicines. I got blood results and healthy kidneys have a GFR over 60 mine is at 43 and other levels were high not to mention the presence of type 2 diabetes and hypertension, cholesterol and high triglycerides. My BMI is 43 and I have my heart set on RNY BYPASS for many reasons. Thank you
  8. Sorry to hijack but I'm curious I've read that VSG removes hunger hormone but what can you tell me about RNY is your hunger same or different since surgery even in the first few months??? Tnx

    Scared and Anxious Pre Op

Nothing wrong with getting surgery. My dr was saying should lose weight on your own I said yeah I've been dealing with that for 20 years and I'm over it thank you so I'm going to see surgeons office this week losing weight isn't actually that hard but it's the long term challenges of keeping it off and staying on the track and I feel the bypass is the best because it restricts your food the most and that will teach you how to eat all over again, you will get full much quicker which will also help, unless you feel you can do it on your own then surgery is the best option why is it okay for people to go have cosmetic surgery but not for people to actually have surgery that will save your life??? Does not make sense! Do not listen to other people it's your body your future. In my case my sugar levels and triglycerides are getting worse and my blood pressure and cholesterol is getting worse if I stay the way I am I will die of heart attack so I NEED surgery ASAP!

Can I drink diet soda on my pre op liquid diet

Soda should be the last thing on your mind, why spend all the time and money on surgery just to go drink soda, you have to change your whole lifestyle and outlook otherwise you will hinder your weight loss from day 1...

    Any MAY sleevers???

Ok I'm going to see the GP dr Sabine next week first appointment to discuss everything I guess they'll do some bloods maybe but receptionist told me if I want the bypass to explain that and yes they have another surgeon Dr Teague as well. I was told may need to see GP twice with $175 cost with some rebate then will see Surgeon and maybe also need to see Dietician. But I'm still 6 months away from my 12 month cut off so just going to see what the GP has to say and hope they are open to the RNY BYPASS for me... I've been told it's only $4000 for surgery which covers everything I just pay for GP and Dietician then yes all appointments with surgeon bulk billed after operation.. I hope all goes to plan!

    Nutribullet vs Ninja

I think they're both the same really mid range blenders. You can pay $20 or you can pay $2000 it really depends on your budget! But I can't believe people buying pre-made protein drinks at like $3-$5 a drink when you can buy 2lbs of powder from $30+ and make your own shakes!

Anyone here lost over 100lbs in 6-9 months?

    Wow huge difference well done
  22. If you're weight loss has changed your appearance that much you should at least update photograph you may require proof of surgery to explain the change in weight I'm not sure but I know a guy who went to get a emergency passport and they were going to deny him until he showed proof he had his ears pinned back surgically, so it's best to ask a passport office or embassy because if you don't update your photo and get stuck overseas needing a emergency passport and your photo looks different to what you look like today there may be an issue in a foreign country!
