  1. Well that's good if I can do it no nurses needed
  2. I am stoked i got weighed the day I was admitted Monday 28th i was stuck in hospital a week on fluids only could only walk the last 4 days got home last night finally had a really good sleep couldn't sleep much in hospital due to pain and being woken every few hours by nurses... I weighed 257 on admission and today this morning I'm 247 by my scales so that's 10lbs gone in 8 days since admission That's pretty good since I could still be a little bloated from gas or fluids but I just felt I needed to weigh myself to get a base line to continue my journey. Feels great to get under that 250 number I'm drinking water and protein shakes very easily Just taking smaller mouthfuls than normal definitely going to the toilet more often so it seems that the bypass makes the liquids go through me quicker now 😛 glad to be back online!!!

8 DAYS POST OP - 10LBS DOWN WOOHOO

Yep you gotta go hard or go home I didn't go through all the pain for nothing 😀
  5. Ok people just left hospital after 7 days!! LAPROSCOPIC ROUX EN Y BYPASS So I'll see how good my memory is.. I got to hospital Monday 10-28 at 10am waited a few hours to see surgeon had low blood sugar so had to wait longer finally got in around 3pm. Woke up around 6pm so bloody sore like you have no idea.. My stomach was so big and tight and holes in my belly plus the drain.. Was on IV from day one with fluids and then had fentanyl pumped into me every few hours to keep the pain down.. First 24hrs slept off and on so much every time I woke I was sore got more drugs to help me sleep so was pretty out of it for the first 48hrs.. I'm not sure if it was normal or I'm a sook lol.. After 3 days finally got the drain line out and had shower and felt much better but still pretty sore getting in and out of bed.. Blood tests and blood pressure and sugar check every few hours the first few days.. Wouldn't let me sleep much lol Started walking the halls after I think day 4 and on fluids everyday just broth and water and optifast nothing else.. The hospital staff were so nice and accommodating though every time i needed I pressed the button they were there.. Was still a little sore and bloated for the first 4 days but started going number 2 by then and farting more to let out the gas and air.. But everything is just liquids still so haven't felt anything going In or out except a few pills I take or if I drink too quickly... Gotta learn to slow down Been on chewable multivitamin since few days and been drinking plenty of water so that's been good and having my shakes but only half size shakes now.. Um I'm trying to think of anything else to help others going for surgery.. MY SURGEON chooses to make pouch a little bigger than regular which he says much easier to adjust and get used to not so restricted but still enough to make an impact Been feeling good last couple of days but still a little tired here and there just gotta keep water up and protein up don't feel worried if drinking too much Your body needs it to recover and heal I'm finally on my way home miss my own bed and feeling hopeful for the future definitely!!!!! thank you everyone!!!!
  6. Hey guys how's everyone from October surgery doing? I'm going well actually 8 days post op besides major pain first few days I'm adjusting to my new life and new stomach which likes to rumble randomly lol Still got my bandages over the incisions I'm just on protein shakes and water and sugar free cordial for now but will be nice to get something with texture soon. Surgeon said minimum 2 weeks liquids then I'll be trying different things like hummus and yoghurt or puree veggies I'm drinking plenty of water and shakes with ease just take my time. one thing I have noticed Is water fills my bladder much quicker going to the toilet often.lol I understand may still have gas and fluid from surgery inside and it will take time to empty.. I'll be tracking my intake and my weight loss again now I'm home

Why did they do sleeve if you had reflux already???
  10. I say metabolism and genes are a big player on my side. Before surgery I was hungry every 2 hours even after eating a huge plate of food never get full but now after surgery I feel better the bypass does change your internal plumbing and metabolism...

    October 2019 surgery peeps?

Hey hey had my surgery 10-28 I'm going to be 8 days out this afternoon and I'm down 10lbs since surgery admission
  19. Got into surgery late Monday afternoon had a little low sugar. Woke up few hours later so sore been on IV fluids and fentanyl for the pain so sore the first 24hours no food at all just water and IV the past 48hrs and today just started broth and blood pressure and sugar levels every few hours are great now. Still a little sore waiting for the drain to be taken out ASAP still on IV fluids and in hospital. Surgeon here is very cautious won’t let me leave until ready and I don’t know how people leave after one night?? I was under pain drugs and out of my head for the first 24hours and still sore walking to the toilet so I’m glad the surgeon is letting me stay here a few days maybe more Still got some gas pain even after farting a few times lol still sore in belly but is only early days for me i don’t mind round the clock nurses here looking after me and my own private room here my sugar levels and blood pressure has been great since surgery I’m feeling excited about the future
  20. Thanks for kind words still a little sore and bloated lol

    Changing Habits Prior to Surgery

I tried a few brands of protein powders but my favorite right now is called scitec nutrition. Water and powder shake it up yummy
