    My story so far

I take vitamins because I got the bypass the doctor will tell you what you need to take. I was able to lose 156lbs in 8.5 months and I wasn't doing anything that drastic just following a good clean diet with NO cheating.. Low calories. Low carb. High protein.

    VSG on 5/11/20

I have to tell you mate I've lost and gained 100lbs before surgery I've lost 50lbs and gained it back before surgery only after the bypass have I lost over 150lbs and maintaining it now for a few weeks feeling great; yes the first few months you may feel not hungry and you may not be able to eat much but now I'm over 6 months out from surgery I can eat most things mate. Just have to take small bites. So it's not a problem forever just for a short term you can't eat alot.

    Question for the husbands

I don't have a wife but I can talk to mental health. I've successfully lost 150lbs+ and finally for the first time I like what I see in the mirror so yes it has changed my mental health and slowly gaining confidence.

    My story so far

I chose to be very strict to follow my diet to the letter not once did I go off track until I was basically on maintenance mode...

    My story so far

Cut out bad carbs. Get rid of soda. Research healthy alternatives. I personally started protein shakes 2 months before surgery on my own choice and was able to shed 65lbs in 8 weeks and now 6.5 months post op I've lost a total of 150+lbs

    Second Gastric sleeve

I'm amazed they even did a sleeve usually they go for the bypass revision
  9. I'm 6.5 months post op and can eat most things obviously if I try sugar it will make me feel bad but in general I can tolerate most things with little issues and the bypass has been amazing I've lost over 150lbs

So mad at myself for regain

Well you just answered your own question.... Get back to eating right.. get your mind in the game..

A year and a half post op

Even if your portions have got bigger you still need to make the right choices... It's your choice to eat fat or carbs when you should be looking at protein first as protein will fill you up where carbs will spike your sugar and make you even hungrier... I made a promise to myself to be strict from day 1 and for the first 6/7 months I logged everything I ate and counted every calorie and carb I consumed and it's now 8 months 3 weeks since I began my own diet and 6.5 months since surgery with bypass and I've been in maintenance a few weeks now lost 156lbs as of today by being struct not giving in to bad craving... The surgery is only a small part of your success you're also meant to learn better eating habits; healthy eating not going back to junk foods otherwise you'll obviously gain weight..... It's not magic it's simple science eat right make good choices.... Go back to the start and tell yourself to be strict again so not giving into bad cravings.....

    Just a Suggestion

Well I buy powder in bulk.. Scitec nutrition 100% whey https://www.scitecnutrition.com/en/products/scitec_nutrition/proteins/100_whey_protein_pro Not sure if it's in America or not.. I did try a few others but they taste so weak I like strong flavours...
  19. Mate you've gone to food in the first week that's the number one issue for slow weight loss... Everyone knows the first month's is when you take advantage of the liquid and puree diet to lose the most.. I don't understand people who are in such a rush to easy solid foods.. Not trying to be rude but you've kinda set yourself up for failure eating those kinds of food so early and giving into cravings... I've been through surgery bypass and come out the other side and below my goal weight and feeling great but I did that by being very strict from day 1 maybe I was lucky I didn't have cravings for months nor did I give into anything for months.. I don't know what else to say mate...

    Just a Suggestion

I use shakes mine luckily taste like milk shake and only use water but sometimes I'll add a shot of coffee or Milo for caffeine that I need to get my day started i actually don't do much exercise just ate very little calories for months and lived off shakes for months but I had bypass and weight has come off quickly.

    Advice needed - VSG Failure

That's unfortunate... But you're one of many who wished they knew about the GERD and chose bypass... I chose bypass as my first ever surgery and it went well and one has no issues and only one stall and I've lost a record 156lb since started my pre surgery diet 8m 3 wks ago Never felt better.
  22. I'm 35 also started at 322 heaviest pre-op now it's been 8 months 3 weeks since I started my dieting and 6.5 months since surgery and I weighed in 166 this morning it's been amazing the bypass...
  23. I was in major pain the first 24hrs but luckily was drugged up on IV.. still was sore for a few days just getting in and out of bed you'll start to feel better after a week and within a month you'll be like new...
