    Feeling Guilty(as I should)

Is your surgeons office asking for you to see a psychologist to help with your food addiction? It might be a good idea

Need help deciding - Too soon or too late

Sorry I think with your low BMI you will find it hard to get surgery at least from my experience?
  3. It is a huge change but your body will get used to it. I was on shakes only for my preop and only taking in like 500 calories a day..
  4. Well done. 100 down. 100 to go.
  5. Yep all comes down to how strict and diligent you are with your diet

Follow the plan don't be in a rush to move to solids because your weight will slow down
  7. I'll speak for myself I started at 322 and I'm now 165lbs and I had RNY gastric bypass and had no issues at all.. lost all my excess weight and only took 8 months I had a lot of restriction for months and lived off shakes. Didn't even feel like eating had no urge at all for months..

    Bloated and constipated

Not sure what it was or what I ate but I had a bunch of prunelax tablets and some psyllium husk pills and after few hours I was going to the toilet and the next day I was better and lost that bit of water weight and back to normal now
  10. Hopefully your life is more under control now so that you have time to commit to the bypass surgery otherwise If you face similar issues you may face the same challenges. But I only dump if I have something high sugar or fatty content which is obviously rarely. You need to learn to eat clean and healthy again.

3 week post op intake issue

Sometimes you can extend your liquid diet if you're having trouble with food..
  15. 6 months after beginning my diet journey. I had lost 150lbs but I was very strict on myself... started at 322... 6ft0 Male.

F it I'm going to smoke

There's multiple reasons for not smoking. The chemicals in nicotine will definitely interfere with your healing and your breathing and every organ in your body. Most surgeons won't operate on someone that is not serious enough to make changes to save their lives...
  17. I will say I'm early days but I've lost all my excess weight and below the goals doctor set for me. I lost exactly 157lbs in 8 months that included 2 months before surgery. It's now 8 months since surgery and I've been maintaining well. I guess for me personally I stayed on liquids looking term literally with the bypass I had no urge to eat for months and protein shakes kept me satisfied... I was very strict on myself weighing every and tracking every single little thing I consumed. I logged everything and kept on top of it and had next to no carbs for months. It's only recently I've been exploring more real food and meals but still seem to be maintaining well... The bypass seems to have totally changed my metabolism because I will admit I've had some treats whilst in maintenance and not gained at all... I started at 322lbs and now most days I'm 165lbs and I look great and feel great with BMI of 22.2 :)
  18. Yeah it's awesome isn't it how well the bypass works

Dr. Duc Vuong is my new (bariatric) spiritual guide

Yes exactly what I said yesterday that dr. Will set an easy goal weight so most people are able to reach it and feel good but it is possible to lose 100%
  24. I would be looking closely at every thing you put in your mouth unless you have a metabolic disorder it's near impossible to not lose weight when only on liquids...
