    Venting about my husband

It's common that you notice things more after surgery and completely changing your life. You spent so many years stuck in a rut with him and now you know you deserve better. You deserve more respect. You deserve someonewho appreciates you and someone who wants to better themselves. You are changing your life and your kids lives yet your husband is stuck in a negative pattern. You are finally embracing your future and everyday you are living while your husband is barely existing. You feel why should you have to put up with him after everything you've done for him over the years. He can't even say thank you?!? Or even take the effort to shower for you?

  6. Why not have surgery if it is going to improve your quality of life and possibly extend your life
  7. I chose bypass because it's a more final surgery It's going to dramatically reduced my diabetes Weight loss is usually better the first 12 months I only want the 1 surgery and it is the most restrictive and malabsorptive. It completely changes your metabolism and internals
  8. Sit out a few events the first year. take advantage of this new tool. Think of the future!
  9. Be sure to look around find a place with a good reputation.
  10. All you need is whey protein, don't believe the hype about all natural bla bla unless you're prepared to pay double for minimal differences My surgeon even said only people who harp on about pure isolate are gym junkies. Regular whey protein has all the amino acids and stuff that is needed to repair muscles.
  11. No set goal but surgeon would like at least 10lbs prefers 20lbs before surgery which is 3 months away. He said any weight loss shows understanding and preparation for the future

  20. I'm just curious for those who had preop diets that was just shakes and liquids? Were you able to lose weight easily or did you need to include some physical activity as well If I chose 3 shakes a day I'll be looking around 500kcal a day and 80-90g protein, that is if I can manage to be satisfied just with protein shakes.. If you want to share how many weeks diet preop and how many shakes a day? I've got plenty of powder to mix up so that's not an issue!! Getting closer to surgery so curious tnx

Just diet and exercise. WOW! Never considered that.

It's definitely not an easy option most people go through months of tests and evaluations before even getting a surgery date!
