    Struggling with Pre-op diet

Make sure you find a good quality protein powder you like because you will be living off protein preop and then post op for a while
  8. Yes there's many kinds of protein. It may be easier to use the pre made shakes but it's much more beneficial and cheaper to buy a good protein powder, but you have to read labels and find the one with most protein per serve with lowest carbs sugar and fats.. If money is no object then go for whey isolate But whey concentrate is fine unless you have lactose intolerance. With powder you can mix it with water or milk or even yoghurt it will last longer than a shake drink and shouldn't cost more than $35 four 1kg which will make 30 shakes at $1 a shake. Most people I know choose optifast but my doctor said any good quality protein will be fine and I looked at optifast it had too much sugar for me! Also after the operation you will still need protein powder whilst on liquids for a few weeks but some still use it long term

    Pre-op and obsessed?

You should be proud of your changes. I've been asked to do up to 4 weeks preop so I assume I'll lose some myself before going under the knife. People say why go under if you can lose yourself? Well the surgery is about more than just weight loss the bypass will change everything internally for us.

    gastric sleeve consult yesterday

Yeah do plenty of research. Read forums. YouTube. Learn better eating habits. Find out what brand protein you can live off, get yourself prepared before surgery and maybe even lose a few lbs

  17. Yes all whey is milk related. You need rice pea or soy protein to avoid animals
  18. I've found a blend that has equal parts. WPI WPC & CASEIN plus amino acids and luecine. Best of both worlds

  20. I urge everyone to have a look at this site they have numerous options and reasonable prices. Yes it is Australian company but they sell globally and have 1000s of positive reviews and the powders are much more pure than others. Thank you

    Disappearing lapbanders

OVER THE YEARS there's evidence of way too many issues and complications and negative feedback on the band so many doctors won't even offer it anymore. I'm going for the bypass because I want something that will be permanent and will change my life.

    Where is everyone from??

    THE LAND DOWN UNDER
  24. Number one issue with surgery will be carbs simple carbs bad carbs. Bread pasta wraps flour If you're friends have a burger you can order a tuna salad or salmon there's plenty of options
  25. Surgery is a big decision personally if my doctor hard me talking like this he would say I'm not mentally ready to begin my new life. He said you have to be mentally prepared otherwise if you slack off the surgery will be a waste of time.
