All I know all the pre OP and post OP food is expensive. I been making Soups and freezing them in small containers. But Protein power and the shakes are expensive.

Amazon is a great place and if you think about it it's $.50-$2 meal.

costco also often has sales on their Protein and you can usually find it for less than 5g of carbs per serving.

  2. If you are tall please share your experience with WSL because bigger and frames just aren't the same as petite and average frames. My lean mass alone is higher than a lot of peoples goal weight that i read about, ~130lb.

Please share with us your height, goal weight and progress. Thanks

  3. I'm only a few days from getting a sleeve and honestly it can't come fast enough (plus missing work sounds great which I never do)

I've been really enjoying reading peoples experiences on here, more than I thought I would.
Does anyone have any reading material related to post-op that they'd recommend? books, blogs, articles etc.

I also am a minority it seems because bc I'm 25 years old, bmi 30 and 6'1, so if anyone has similar stats I would love to hear about your process.

I wish I could introduce you to my niece. She had bypass surgery in 2012 at the tender age of 20. At 1st she questioned herself about it and now after losing over 200 lbs she wouldn't have it any other way. She's happy she's now able to do things she never thought possible. The crazy thing is she eats like a grown man smoke and still drink alcohol. She has an amazing social life just like a young adult would. So yes you may have to give up the things you love for a short time but soon you will be able and free to do as you please without gaining any weight back. My poor niece wants to gain 10 lbs but can't because every time she put on a few pounds it fall right back off. She is now 26 and she's so in love with the new her.

It's ok to second guess yourself but don't worry about it. You will have your life back sooner than you no it. This time it will be the new healthier smaller you.

I'm so glad you said this. I'm 25 with a BMI of 30, and I worry about how restrictive my social life would be. I'm scheduled for Thursday and I can't wait

  5. My surgery is Nov 1st. Starting the month strong.

I will be starting my soft food phase thanksgiving day technically. I'm a bit worried about what healthy food options there will be for me th at I'm actually able to eat. I may just put off eating so ft foods for a few extra days so I'm not tempted. Is thanksgiving and Christmas a concern for anyone else?

How are people monitoring their progress? I created a spreadsheet of various body measurements, weight, body fat, bmi that I plan on filling out weekly, I started a week before surgery. As well as weekly pictures.

You're 6ft and your goal weight is 125lb? How did you arrive at that? Just curious. I'm still wondering if my goal weight is achievable. After four children, I'm not sure it's possible. I think I just like "how it looks" in print.

I'm 6'1 female and my lean mass alone is 130+, my goal is 155+/- 10
