Are you feeling any better? I am almost 8 weeks out and I still feel awful. Can’t eat or drink much of anything without throwing up. They have ran multiple tests and just keeping saying it takes time for you body to heal. I feel nauseous even when I am not eating or drinking. I just want to not feel bad. I have also had horrible acid reflex, which I never had before sleeve. Anyone had that, and does it ever get better?

I am feeling same exact way, plus I can't sleeep, my mouth feels like a dessert when I sleep.

Maybe invest in a thermos to carry? I like the Bariatric Advantage B-12 little pills, black cherry taste, one under the tongue, usually do it noonish, resolves pretty quick, Vitamin A & D check with your Bariatric people, see if over-the- counter suffices or whether you'll need a script. Wal-Mart where I get my meds, not sure if it's their policy or Silver Scripts my Medicare part D provider, but I pay a co- pay equal to regular price for Vitamins, even my special Iron pills Ferrocite, which are not a retail type formulation. Most of their Iron is Ferrous Gluconate, Ferrocite,is a different Iron salt. But I don't have all the answers, like most of us, you learn as you go!

I was given B12 shots today which was awesome will get another next month, and was prescribed gummy vitamins will pick those up today. She said my Vit a is fine. So turns out they did a biopsy to my stomach and I have a bacteria. My mom had it as well must be coming from a developing country so that can be in part why my recovery has been so harsh. I can eat pureed and stuff like chicken salad at this point. Dairy and I aren't great friends right now. I got some silken tofu so will try to make that today. And yes I am dehydrated but I try to constantly drink Water is just the eating is so slow then I have to wait for the 30-minute intervals.

  3. I went to the ER on friday was extremely dehydrated and potassium super low. But there no short comings that happen for a reason. I was changed prescription and given naseau medicine. Now I am actually eating tiny tiny amounts, but starting to feel human and not so weak. My energy is going up, and want to start taking Vitamins now specially B12, D, and A which I am low. Which do you recommend?

This is my routine right now.

Wake up at 5 am or 6 am: feeling super thirsty I decided to eat first so I don't have to wait the thirty minutes. But I think I should drink first.

I found I love infused Water much better than plain but has to be ice cold. What do you do when Out and about? I was looking at infusing bottles but they don't keep the water cold.

I am still figuring out what to eat, really don't like eggs or yogurt right now which sucks. Got some silken tofu let's see what I do with that.

And for everyone that has supported in my last posts thank you so much!

Are you going through this process alone?? Even with the surgery being completed it's still a process, any support at home??

I have family support as far as help for kids etc which is huge but I am alone for most of the day, and I just try to get by.

Iliana, I made an appointment prior to surgery to see a psychologist post op. I wasnt sure how I would feel emotionally after surgery. Actually I felt pretty good a few weeks out but it really turned into a great benefit anyway.I can hash out a few things before they really bother me and she’s been wonderful.

You’ve had major surgery so don’t rule out a medical issue. But with that said you have young children and life can get overwhelming. You might be surprised talking it over with an outsider.

    Best Wishes.

I was actually doing group therapy prior to surgery and that is one of the things that got me prepared for it. I havent done them in these weeks because I haven't felt up to it. Might have to start again, I just didn't expect to feel this way.

Hi, Iliana00000, no, at this point I don't think I need another surgery. Just an endoscopy to stretch the stricture. I dont think you get strictures with the sleeve because they don't reattach your intestines. I hope you'll be ok. Maybe your surgeon will have some ideas tohelp you feel better.

    Are you constantly thirsty?

  7. So I started on soft foods... and ever since I have been so nauseous like morning sickness lasting all day. TMI after 3 months finally got my period. My body just feels terrible overall feeling weak, so emotional, and tired. I am trying to be active but when I walk and such my heart starts to race like crazy. Idk if it is just me everyone I know seems to be doing fine post-surgery, but I've been struggling bad. I don't even care about losing weight at this point I just want to feel better. Even drinking Water is hard, its like I am regressing rather than progressing. anyone else experience this?

I'm so sorry that you're having trouble at this point. I've read where some people have a similar situation as yours. I was lucky and never had the first problem with any of it. Good luck and I hope you get better soon.

I am trying to find posts and see peoples updates but can't seem to find any. I have its just an adjusting thing and nothing serious.

    Thank you

Yes! I have exactly the same problem. I am 4 weeks out and no longer able to tolerate purees or liquids. Constantly feel like I am going to throw up. Saw my Surgeon's PA yesterday who ordered an emergency upper GI series and it turns out I have a stricture!! They are going to do an endoscopy on Tuesday to try to stretch the opening between my pouch and intestines. I had RNY gastric bypass btw. Don't wait, call surgeon's office Monday if you're not feeling better.

I went to the ER (cant even remember but sometime this month) they did a CT scan and turned out normal they did say I had a (Can't remember will ask my partner [spleen])) Doctor said it is harmless. My brain is all clustered. I had the sleeve and honestly I am having so many regrets at this point, I am terrified of food now. At least when I was on liquids I was getting by on Water. I have an apt may 1st, and I am in the middle of my college semester and really need to get good grades. I have been doing most of my work online already missed 3 weeks. So will they have to do another surgery for you?

I remember the day of my surgery having a heavy feeling in my heart not to do it and here I am really going through it. I really do hope everything turns out well with you.

Trusting the surgeon is not the issue dear. My body is sick of the crap I’ve been eating and taken in the past 3 weeks and 2 days early is not an issue. I haven’t had eggs so I’m going to try eggs

Your surgery was two days after mine you are going to make two weeks. I feel the same way I am surviving on Water and feeling really weak. I am can't take anything else that's liquid. And to pass water it has to be super cold, otherwise, I can't drink it either.

I had gastric bypass on 3/19 and I am about 2 1/2 weeks post-op. My first two weeks after surgery I was on a full liquid diet. I moved on to the next phase of my programs diet on Tuesday. We do not do puréed food at all but move directly to solid Proteins. Before switching I was struggling with knowing when I was full or hungry. Once switching to solids I can for the most part tell when I should stop eating. For most foods I can eat about 2 oz. However, tonight I had some homemade chili for dinner and I was able to eat a cup worth of chili. I’m not sure if it was because it was a liquid and had small bits of Beans and hamburger but after I ate it I was shocked how much I ended up eating. I feel like sometimes I don’t have any restriction to my new stomach. How much are you able to eat at 3 weeks post-op?

I will make two weeks tomorrow and still not even on mushy foods which we do but they gave me four weeks liquid and I am miserable. I miss eating food and I am literally just getting by on Water, popsicles, I miss having hot stuff. I wish I could go into solid Proteins.

I had a similar problem. I couldn't stomach any Protein Shakes. I ate high Protein yogurt and drank fairlife milk. I divided the milk into 4oz portions. I also drank Campbell's chicken noodle Soup broth only. It filled my insides and made me feel better. Good luck!

Omf thank you feels amazing to not be the only one will stack up on those tomorrow. I have been crying so much I am so frustrated and upset. I did hear about fairlife I cant drive so I have to wait on someone to take me. First thing tomorrow. God bless you!

    Hi Iliana,

Sorry to hear you're going through a bit of difficulty. Everyone is different and hoping you turn the corner soon. I've been lucky that most of my pain is subsided. I've been walking as much as I can and that did relieve a lot of the gas pains for me. Now its just taking it easy and not overdoing it as I"m sure it'll take a month or so to fully recover or that's how I'm seeing it.

Hang in there... keep walking and get some better tasting Protein shakes.... believe it or not I've been dranking the Premier Protein and buying them at Sams Club. Just found a popsicle freezer thingy and put some in the freezer. The chocolate flavor reminds me of fudgesicles when I was a kid. :)

Hang in... keep up the good work and this too shall pass.

Let me tell you I ordered three boxes of this haha so I have to get rid of it somehow I will try freezing it. Hopefully that does the trick for me.
