1 minute ago, Briswife15 said:Hi, Tracy, I'm having bypass on March 27th, too! My name is Sarah and I live in Connecticut. I just turned 57, am 5' 3, weigh about 235 and am hoping to lose 100 lbs at least, but getting healthy for me is more important than the number on the scale. I have a bunch of comorbidities. Thanks for starting this thread.

I am not 3/27 but only 2 days after you on 3/29. I wasn’t nervous before I got my surgery date but now that I have it nerves are setting in. The surgery itself doesn’t make me nervous I just have thoughts of “what if it doesn’t work”

Good luck Cindy! I know how you feel, I’ve been wanting this for years now.

Saw my surgeon today and they are going to submit all my paperwork to insurance today. They said I should get a call to schedule surgery in 1-2 weeks. 🤞 they approve me.

Yes insurance wants you to do a supervised diet to show you tried losing weight. Thankfully mine is only 3 months . Great thing that u are on your way to getting the surgery. Good luck!

Just be honest with your doctor. They already know you need their help. If those other diets had worked you wouldn’t be considering surgery.

Same here, learning more about the surgery it seem the best for long term success

Hello! That’s exciting that you will be having your surgery in just a couple weeks. I am still in the hoop jumping but I have chose the DS surgery. And hoping I will be scheduled in Jan.

1. Looks- I want to feel good in my skin and not feel like everyone is judging me. I also want to be able to go shopping with my sisters in the same store.
2. Mobility- I would love to be more active and not be in pain. My dream is to run a Disney Marathon!
3. Health- I honestly don’t have much health problems and want to stay that way. Doctors think I have PCOS and I know losing weight will make it so doctors will actually test me appropriately for it and not just think so because of my weight.
4. Longevity- I want to have a long active and fun life
5. Family- I don’t currently have any kids but would love to have some in the future.
6. Romance- losing weight will help but to be honest I have no idea if my husband will be together by the end of next year so yea....lol

I am also new and hoping for surgery late January-early February! I am just starting my 3 month insurance required diet. I don’t have a weight loss goal for the 3 months just trying not to gain any weight.
