Had my surgery 5 weeks ago today. Seems like longer! I did have a stall for a week or so but I got on the scale this morning and I’m down 2 more pounds! I’ve been able to tolerate most foods. Sometimes I forget to chew well enough or eat to fast. I’m happy to say that I can drink coffee again. It tasted awful for the first few weeks. I made cauliflower pizza the other night and it was delicious! My family had regular pizza and I ate mine and didn’t feel deprived. They all tried mine and loved it! I see my doctor tomorrow for my follow up. I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving. HW 285 SW 272 CW 250 GW 175

I think one of the biggest differences is how happy you look now! There’s a brightness in your eyes that wasn’t in the other picture! Great job!

Hi betterL8! I can understand your concern! I’m almost 6 weeks out and I was able to eat what everyone else did on thanksgiving. I tried to stay away from the carbs but my doctor was reassuring and said try a little bit of everything. It’s only one day! The weeks leading up to the surgery and several weeks after are the hardest but for me, they went by fast! Now, I’m careful what I eat and having the surgery is my reminder that I don’t need bad food anymore! I hope that helps put your mind at ease a little bit!

Welcome back to the land of the chewing! Lol!

You’re human! Don’t be to hard on yourself! I ate a little bit of almost everything yesterday. I felt a little guilty, but today is a new day!

Congrats! Happy thanksgiving!

I had reflux too and had the sleeve done. I had a fairly large hiatal hernia which they attribute the reflux too. That was fixed during the surgery!

Thanks Liz!

Thanks for sharing the link!

Thanks Wanda247! the cauliflower pizza crust is so delicious! There are a ton of recipes online for it.

Thanks Cyndie. We’re neighbors! I’m in CT! Your scale will move soon but I know what you mean! Im doing ok with meat. I just need to chew it really well! What’s the califlour crust? Is that a brand? I didn’t mind making it but if I can find a good prepared one, that would be better! Happy thanksgiving to you too!

I did say I go to the gym! I’m also seeing my doctor on Wednesday and will be cleared for working out starting next week so I can begin working out with my trainer again! Thanks for your two cents though!

Good job!!!! I thought I’d have more motivation since the surgery but I’m still trying to find it. I do go to the gym a few times a week though. Next weeks my week to get my ass in gear!

Awesome!

That’s exactly what I had. The results came back as having sleep apnea.
-
Yes I had an at home sleep apnea test and had my surgery a month ago. From what I understand it’s not as accurate as the facility test but they still determined I had it. Good luck!
-
Wow! Thanks for sharing! Especially about the stalls you experience! You look fantastic!

I had the sleeve done a month ago. As per my dr, I began eating soft protein, eggs, chicken, tuna salad, fish, in my third week. Most days I still have a protein shake for one meal but I’m able to get in a few ounces of protein, as long as I chew really well, and this week I started eating soft vegetables. Every team is different with their requirements. Good luck to you!

It definitely is. The surgery was the easy part. It’s the head stuff that’s hard! So many years of abusing food doesn’t change overnight! I’m so happy I’ve been given this gift to start over!

Tell me what your favorite protein powder is or favorite ready to go protein shakes.

Thanks

Hmmm hadn’t heard that!

I got the genpro unflavored powder and it’s justcwhat it says, unflavored! Lol. It’s also a smaller scoop and 30g of protein.
