Just took my inches for the first time since my surgery on October 16th and I’m very happy to say goodbye to 15.25 inches!!!!!!
-
I began working out again after about 5 weeks as per my doctor. He still wants me to wait about two more weeks to do any abdominals. This week I started spin classes, which I love, and burns a crazy amount of calories. If you workout in a gym, can you ask for some guidance? If you can afford it, it’s worth hiring a trainer for a few sessions to teach you technique and how to get the best out of your workout. I hope that helps and good luck!

Thanks for the info. Good to know!

Wow, I had no idea about the anxiety med not absorbing correctly. Did your doctor mention that to you?
-
Good for you! Here’s to the new us!
-
Wow those sound like a cool concept but more than that holy inches lost Batman! Nice work!!!!
-
I hear ya! Especially from someone in that field! Seems like he skipped the compassion part of med school!
-
I’m sorry he made you feel that way! I know it’s hard, but try not to let it get to you and keep up the great work! As long as your surgeon was happy with your results, I’d focus on that. Everyone’s body is different!

I’m 6 weeks post op today. As a gift I treated myself to a spin class. My first one in a long time! I’ll admit I wasn’t sure I’d make it through the 55 minute class but my 247 pound body did! I was the biggest in the room for sure but I didn’t care! I was there for me and only me! I feel fing fantastic!!!! The instructor is one I like a lot. She’s very motivating and pushed us to focus on why we were there! What we wanted and reminded me that nothing changes overnight! I can’t wait to go back Friday! If you’ve never tried a spin class, I encourage you to. You work at your own pace and you feel awesome when you’re done!

I’m sorry you’re going through this! I’ll keep my fingers crossed you don’t have to go back to the ED!

I ate a lot of yogurt in the first few weeks. It was high in protein and made me full. I ate the Oikos Triple zero.
-
It hurts my bum too lol! Unfortunately there’s less padding on the spin bikes but I’ve found the more I do it the less it hurts!
-
Not sure what you weigh, but I first got into spin when I was 360lbs. It’s great cardio and great for toning the booty! Spin class is where you ride a stationary bike but it’s made to go fast. They play great music and get you moving! I started at much heavier. Check one out and you may be surprised! I like it because it’s kind on my hips and knees!

Oh boy! That sounds scary! Glad you’re better!

I never asked my doctor but I was fine after two weeks! Don’t tell your husband! Lol 😂

Good luck!!!!

You came to the right place! I understand your concerns but no matter how you lose weight, you may have excess skin. Let me mention I’m 6 weeks post op having the sleeve done. I’ve lost 25 pounds since the surgery and 15 inches on my whole body. The only nausea I had was right after the surgery from the anesthesia. The first few weeks went by fast. I just kept reminding myself it won’t last forever. I was able to eat a little bit of everything on thanksgiving. I don’t feel deprived because I am the one who chose to do this. After years of not succeeding on traditional diets, I decided this was what I wanted to do. I’m 44 and felt like this was the right time. I have an extremely supportive husband and friends who have all been cheering me on along the way. The bottom line is you need to be ready. You and only you can choose this decision for yourself! Good luck to you! -
