  1. Congrats on your pregnancy and hope you start feeling better. I don't know if this helps but theres a shake that a local cafe makes that taste amazing and i know has lots of calories but healthy it made with almond milk with peanut butter and banana and they put protein powder in it. I really hope you feel well
  2. Yes I agree, starting healthier choices for all family members is ideal, in my case when I make healthier meals like salad, brussel sprouts, broccoli, it all ends up on the floor, not in their mouth. I don't understand how kids could be such picky eaters and as their mom, I can't let them starve so I choose to let in and give them what they like. I do believe after WLS I will change my food choices, which really I've been doing for a couple of months lost 6 pounds. I need to get creative with foods replace carbs with healthier foods trick my kids. But for now I've been practicing not drinking 20-30 minutes after a meal @10 mins prior, chewing my food until its soft getting in my protein in shakes and taking vitamins. Still very nervous about surgery but from it seems like most people are very pleased and most say wish they had done it sooner.
  3. Thats what I hear its the gold standard. Just want to clarify I take medication and daily vitamins so it won't be hard for me to continue vitamins. My kids are now 3 years old and all they want to eat are all the bad foods including mac and cheese ,cookies, hotdogs, so I'd actually would love to have some kind of dumping so I could stay away from those foods. I don't drink alcohol I don't even drink soda I drink seltzers, water and coffee but I eat my kids food. My blood pressure has been out of control and Im nervous going down the wrong path thats why I'm taking care of it now. I have read some sleeve people, the ones who didn't stick to the diet, and GERD needed revision to bypass so in my mind let me tackle the most effective in my lifestyle and mind. I don't want to mess around with my health. Thank you all for being there to guide us support each other. I whole heartedly appreciate it.
  4. Hi everyone Its my first post and would like to let everyone know how appreciative I am that this community is out there. Im writing also because I'm conflicted on which surgery is best for me and I know its ultimately my surgeon and my decision but still very scared. Just a little history of me I'm a working mom of almost 3 year old twins, I work at a fast pace medical office so Im pretty much on my feet 8-12 hours a day. I've been overweight all my life but since my pregnancy I have not been able to loose weight and have high blood pressure with high cholesterol levels. My father had passed away from a massive heart attack at 43 yrs old and I just turned 40. My BMI is between 36-37. My first initial visit 6 months ago was to get gastric sleeve but since I've been feeling in my heart I want bypass. On my endoscopy it shown some inflammation due to acid reflux and I've suffered most of my pregnancy with it and definitely do not want GERD. I know theres more vitamin deficiencies and more complications but I feel like theres more long term benefits with bypass. Again I really can't thank you all Ive been reading most of your posts and I feel so much more informed then I was when I started this journey. BTW my pre-op appointment with my surgeon is this week and Im a ball of nerves
