  1. Hit Onderland this morning! 6 and half months out... Happy but skeptical it will reverse itself here in a few days

  2. This weekend is 3 months post op. It has been a good journey so far with a few hiccups. Mainly figuring out how to incorporate veggies and use the bathroom more frequently. I am down 69.4 pounds, and my personal goal was to be down 70. It is ok. as of this morning i have less than 100 to lose to hit my ultimate goal. In a few weeks i will have my phone consult with my surgeon and see if he has a goal in mind for me or if mine is OK. I found a really good local support group that meets by stage of surgery and have joined the gym regularly. I am getting better at my ballroom classes and am looking forward to the competition in the fall. My next goal is to be below 200 by the time i go to Missouri at the end of April.. I got this! That is 34 pounds to lose in 2.5 months.. I can do it! I hope LOL.. Or be real close! Heres to many more updates and journeys along the way!

  3. Well today is a New Year and a New Me! I had a goal to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year and i woke up this morning at 51 pounds lost even! I am super excited. I am almost 8 weeks post op and will be 2 months post op in 7 days. I am excited to start 2019 at 252.6. I started this journey with a high weight of 340. When I decided this go around to get the surgery done, I was at 303.6 and day of surgery 284.2. Today just over 7 weeks later I am at 252.6. Over 30 pounds from the date of Surgery and 51 since i started the Pre Op diet. I am excited to see where 2019 is going to take me and where i end out the year! 2019 is my year, and this is the very first time in my 49 years of life that i can say something is mine and I am working on me for the new year!

  4. Well I did it! I wanted to have a 50 pound loss before the new year! Was positive 2 days ago but reluctant i would hit it with 2 days remaining! I hit it this morning. 50.2 pounds lost!!!Before the new year! YAY!- I attribute the extra loss to walking around Disney yesterday for hours! LOL.. Happy New Year to all!

  5. Well, it has been a while since i posted a status update.. So long, I forgot how to do it LOL.. Well i just surpassed the 7 week mark. I am overall feeling great. Learning how to eat is ongoing. I am learning to take time between bites so i am not overly full by bite 3. I am down almost 50 pounds total. The scale stalled again but only for a few days. It was just this morning it moved a smidge, so hopefully i will be down 50 pounds by new year :) Or at least by 2 months on Jan 8th. I am getting ready to join a gym.. I will go next week and see if i like the LA Fitness near the dance studio i go to. I would really like a personal trainer but will see what happens. I am excited for 2019 and all it has to offer and all that i can offer it! I have a family reunion coming up in Connecticut in June, and i have not told any of them i had the surgery. I also do not post pics on my facebook on purpose these days. I want next summer to be a super surprise to everybody there!  My main focus is to learn how to eat so that i can consume more each meal. My other main focus needs to be tracking calories. I am good at tracking water and somewhat protein, but not to the T.. That is going to be my biggest obstacle but i hope to have a handle on it by Feb1st is my goal time frame.

  6. Well, Today is 3 weeks post op. I am down 38.4, and just about 20 since surgery. I have one more week of puree. The Dr. said i could move to soft, if i have mastered puree after a week, and then i could go back to dance once i master soft after a week. Yep! Not happening. After a week of puree, i am having a hard time getting everything in. Either i drink my protein shake too fast and it sits in my throat. Or i lose track of time and by the end of the night have too much liquid to still drink. I definitely have not mastered Puree. One more week and i should be ok with moving on to soft foods.

I am excited about how much weight i have lost so far. I really want to join a gym, but have a treadmill at home and take ballroom classes a few days a week. I am going to wait on the gym thing until i go back to classes and see how much time i will have to make it to the gym. The dance classes are actually exercise, but if i dont walk out of there sweating, then i will have to add the gym in so i can get in a great workout. I would also like to work with weights and do not have those at home, so it may be the  gym, and treadmill on the days i do not have classes as the closest gym is over by the dance studio.. some 40 min away( Thanks to Orlando traffic) or 15 miles LOL.

Anyways.. One more week of this stage and next Thursday i will be officially at one month Post op and will take a one month post op Pic so i can monitor progress.

Congratulations! Sounds like you are off to a great start!

  7. Well today I am 2 weeks post op. I am down 11.6 since surgery and 20 before for a total of 31.6. I have done very well and been very lucky since day 1. I have a great surgeon and have not had any issues so far. Today I start Puree Foods for the next two weeks. He said I could try a week then move to soft if I wanted to, but if I was unable to hold the food down then I needed to back it back up to puree. I think I will just follow the two week schedule. I really want to get back to Ballroom Dancing, but I have to wait a min of 2 weeks and max of 4. He said it all depends on if I can hold down food and keep getting all my liquids and proteins. He did warn me that as of right now it was easy because everything was in liquid form, but starting today, the puree will take place of the protein shake meals and I still need to get 64 ounces of Liquids in. I am a little worried about the next stage as I have seen others not be able to tolerate foods, but I am confident I will figure something out.  Here is to the next stage!

  8. One Week Post Op today! I feel great and almost walking back to normal. I have learned in this short week to not drink your dinner protein shake at a constant sipping. I spent 30 min the last two nights trying to release the pressure in my chest. Lesson Learned! I am back down to Surgery Date Weight as of this morning, actually half a pound less. Now to look forward to actual losses LOL. I guess i had a lot of gas and liquids that are taking time to leave my body. Its all good, it will be gone eventually! I have no regrets, and take each day as it comes and look forward to the next stage next Thursday, and getting my stitches out on Tuesday.

  9. 5 days Post op Update:

Well today is 5 days. I feel great! I still have some gas i am dealing with but with each sip comes a burp. Hopefully this part will be done with soon. I started my blood thinners shots this morning as they stopped them day after surgery due to too much drainage. I went back to work yesterday, didnt do much! My boss made me sit in her office all day lol.. but i am back and i am feeling good. I was able to get my liquids in yesterday and had my first BM yesterday, with another following this morning! I think i am doing pretty well for just having surgery. My weight is still up. I had gained almost 14 pounds during surgery due to gas and liquids, and lost 10 of it to date. Have 4 pounds to go before back to surgery date weight!

Thanks Fluffy! It was the only one LOL. I talked to my nutritionist yesterday and i asked about smooth move and she said not to take it because its a dehydrator. She suggested something called Swift Kriss OR something like that i will google it today. She said take maybe a quarter of the tablet and break it apart and not take the whole thing just to get things moving if needed, but at this point she said.. not needed. Oh and for that final sentance! I have a 1.4 pounds to go to be back to surgery weight.
