  1. My appraisal came in today and I got a $40,000 line of credit to use towards plastic surgery!! The line of credit is open for 10 years and is at market rate interest, but currently just 5%!! I AM SO EXCITEEEDDDD. I have moneyyyy!! lmao.
  2. Right?!? I don't even WANT to put rice/pasta/bread in my mouth. Those were my vices and I don't need them in my life. I can't eat fish, either, and pretty much can only handle turkey as far as meat goes. It's really hit or miss with meat. WHO CARES. Food is fuel, nothing else. I really think OP is a troll. The things s/he was complaining about are extremely obvious things that anyone having bariatric surgery certainly would know. I can't conceive of her not knowing the limitations. Everyone drinks water, lol. And there is ALWAYS SOMETHING you can eat virtually anywhere. I've never had a problem. I even went to Christmas dinner less than 2 months out from surgery and managed to have some shrimp dip and a few green beans. With my gym supplements, I take about 20 supplements a day and I am more than happy to the rest of my life because I feel a heck of a lot better being 120lbs smaller.
  3. I was supposed to be on it for 6 months but my gallbladder crapped out on me anyways after 3 months and I had to have it removed. Sigh.
  4. My BMI was 50 when I started and now it's down to 30 in less than 8 months. I wear a size 10/12 now and started at a 22/24. Still have another 30lbs to go, but I already exceeded the expected weight loss from my surgeon. They said I'd lose 65% of my excess and I'm at 75%-ish. I plan on losing all 100%!
  5. Tell me about it! I think I'm going to see my primary care about Midodrine. I have GOT to raise my BP! Salt doesn't help. It's really scary feeling so woozy and losing vision so often. My trainer is concerned because I'll be doing something and then get like this thousand yard stare and confusion for a moment and then I'm fine again.
  6. Unf. The last 2 weeks I have been losing my vision nearly every single time I stand up. I also get very confused for a moment, occasionally. It's affecting my ability to exercise at the intensity I am at (and otherwise ready for). I stand up from the sofa, slowly, to walk to the kitchen, lose my vision and stand totally still, then as it's coming back slowly edge my way towards the counter to hold on for a moment until the blood rushes back to where it's supposed to be. lol. I messaged my doctor about this and he's just like "hopefully it will eventually get better". O__O OKAY
  7. Unjury Opurity Chewables. I have one bottle left and then I am switching to the BariatricPal capsule because I am ready to be done with all chewable things. lol. A 90 day supply is 29$.
  8. Sorry, I'm really sick today and didn't mean to come off as bitchy as that sounded. lol.
  9. I did call a bunch of other surgeon's in a 50 mile radius of my house and NOT A SINGLE ONE did arm lifts! They ALL just do boob jobs and lipo and facial stuff. Very weird. And several of the receptionist "never heard of" insurance for a tummy tuck and I explained I had gastric bypass and they said "they don't *do* that"... although I probably have less skin on my tummy than someone who gave birth once. Unless he says something totally absurd, I feel good about seeing my guy again.
  10. I've been in touch with my plastic surgeon of choice and they said if I want the last week of November to consult beginning of September. I told them it HAS to be November 20-22nd and they said that's no issue. There's never really a wait period, fortunately. It's just getting the pre-op testing done in between. I am going to go in August anyways. The last week in November is the ONLY week I can do it until like... September 2020. I should add I live in a fairly sparsely populated area and the demand for plastic surgery isn't like how it probably is in a metropolitan area. When he did my breast reduction I had the consult one month and the surgery the next.
  11. I still struggle with this - which inevitably leads to me getting foamies/vomiting. Now I am trying to be more conscious of watching the clock. It really only happens when I am eating snacky stuff like protein chips. It's hard to break the habit of just snacking on chips like you would have pre-op. I need a timer that dings like every minute to signal I can have 1 chip at each minute mark or something. lol.
  12. I am referring to eating 100 GRAMS of carbs 2 months post-op - and the risk of dumping if you do so. Which I sincerely hope you weren't instructed to do. And why would you want to take that risk? That is stupid. Of course we can eat complex carbs eventually. But I've never heard of any diet plan allowing someone to eat that many carbs to do what this girl is doing so soon post-op. Since it obviously upset you, I will clarify that I my PERSONAL diet plan doesn't have me at 100g of carbs until 12-18 months... which I *believe* I mentioned in one of my comments, but don't feel like going through and looking, tbh. Edit: Oh wait, I literally did mention that I was referencing my plan in my last comment.
  13. Except here's the thing. You had sleeve. We had gastric bypass. We can't add in those carbs needed for stuff like HIIT without getting dumping. My friend who had the sleeve can eat cake and feel fine. I would be dead on my butt for four hours sweating and puking. I can't even tolerate one bite of wheat bread. Bypass patients are forcibly on a ketogenic diet since we can't have carbs or fat. My ketone levels are through the roof simply because I can only eat keto-friendly things. I am almost 8 months out and still not supposed to really have peas and that sort of thing because of the starch. We're supposed to add in those things veryyyy slowly. My trainer wants me at 100g of protein a day and 100g of carbs. My dietitian says I shouldn't be anywhere near 100g of carbs yet - that's usually between 12-18 months. She agrees with the protein, but acknowledges it will be difficult. We agreed on 90g of protein a day. I still can't physically get in more than 50g of carbs a day without being full and/or sick. So, doing weights and squats and everything OP is talking about - she isn't nutritionally ready for. It is essentially just eating the muscle you are trying to gain because of such a severe deficit. There's nothing wrong with being safe and waiting a few more months to incorporate the gym into the routine.
  14. I am 7.5 months and eat about 700 calories/day. I don't track anymore because I eat virtually the same thing every single day so there wasn't really any use in it - but it averaged 600-700 religiously. Supposed to get to 1000 or 1100 by 12 months. Eh.
  15. Dude. 5 days per week just 2 months out from surgery is extremely excessive. It is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to eat enough carbs and protein to sustain that type of rigorous exercise she says she does.
  16. Got measurements at the trainer today. I lost 34.5" total in the last 3 months. That's a lot! I am shocked. Yet pleased. Also 32lbs. Down to 175!
  17. Is there a short two-sentence version of this I can go off of? LOL
  18. My dietitian said the shake should have no more than 3g of fat and 10g of carbs.
  19. OMG me too! I went to Pointer Ridge Elementary! lmao. My dad still lives there.
  20. I had a full body compression garment and yes it was insanely tight. I had drains in my neck before and it didn't hurt at all when they pulled them. Not sure about stomach, but if the neck didn't hurt...
  21. PS. I was born in Silver Spring and raised in Bowie. Hi! lol!
  22. I meant to clarify... the plastic surgeon and the hospital are both in Winchester. His office is like 5 minutes from the hospital.
  23. Unfortunately Bethesda is the same distance as the guy I was referred to. His office is in Fairfax and he is with Inova. My plastic surgeon here is also with Inova Health System, but in Winchester VA... not the Fairfax location.
  24. Define normal. haha. I mean, my entire lifestyle has changed. Every post-op issue I had subsided around 4 months and I was back to full regular activities. I get sick if I eat too fast, of course, so that isn't quite normal. I really need to work on that. Every day I am mindful of what goes in my mouth and how much activity I am getting - which wasn't my normal. But I am living and doing and working like I was before, except lighter. Since I am still in the weight loss phase, it is sort of all-consuming my life since I have a goal to reach. But having that big milestone keeps me going. I think I feel more normal now than I did before... since now I can actually go out and do things like a "normal" person without feeling uncomfortable or out of breath.
