  1. At 30lbs it was very noticeable in my face. I think I lost 30lbs only in my face in that first month. lol. After 60lbs, that's when I started getting a lot of comments.
  2. I think mine was a slow build. I was *almost* 300lbs when I had the surgery. I had wanted the surgery back in 2015, but after not losing the required weight for my insurance at the time I lost interest. I just continually hated how I looked in the mirror and was frustrated at the lack of clothing options and my inability to keep pace with my friends when out and about. I also was embarrassed that I could barely reach to wipe after using the bathroom! Little things kept nagging at me like how I had to turn down going to an amusement park because I knew I couldn't fit on the roller coaster seats, or how I couldn't fly anywhere comfortably anymore. So one day last year I called my new insurance company and the process was a lot simpler than my previous insurer so I was like what the heck. It was definitely years of compounding negative thoughts and the inability to do things like a "normal" person that finally snapped.
  3. You totally should be able to! I am looking into taking Krav Maga classes if I can figure out how to work it into my already packed exercise schedule.
  4. I do feel the heaviness with the cottage cheese again. I eat a full cup over a half hour, so 8oz, because I want to keep the protein up... but I may cut to 6oz today depending on how I feel later tonight (since it is making me feel fuller than it typically does). It's kind of a bizarre phenomenon because pre-op, if I would fast and then come out of a fast, eating anything would fill me up much quicker and I always attributed it to "shrinking my stomach". It's definitely the same sensation now, but I don't know the cause - whether it is tightening things up a bit or just changing the perception.
  5. Down another pound! lol. I don't feel very hungry at all. Honestly I could stick to this indefinitely if I knew I didn't need to get some more carbs in, lol. My two protein shakes equal 50g of protein + 14g of protein in 2 eggs + 24g of protein in a cup of cottage cheese (which is what I did yesterday) so... 98g! And virtually no carbs. I definitely don't feel full or totally satisfied by the end of the day, but not uncomfortably hungry, either. And I had a very intense workout last night and felt completely fine.
  6. Shoes: I own exactly 100 pairs of shoes. I only wear like 8 of them tops. I can't help itttt. I am always looking for new fly sneakers or heels I will NEVER be able to walk in. LOL. I wear the same 5$ black flats at work every day, despite having about 70 pairs of nice heels and wedges, etc.
  7. I had my surgery last November. I took off two weeks from work, but could have gone back sooner. Just didn't want to. lol.
  8. Yesterday I had two hardboiled eggs, two protein shakes, and a yogurt. Down over a pound (although I'm sure that's water weight, lol). So far today I've had one shake and one tiny egg white... thing. Planning on one more shake, another egg, and a yogurt.
  9. Just some smooshy/liquid stuff right now so there's no fullness or stretching.
  10. Yeah, I am going to have 2-3 protein drinks today (soy protein isolate) and one hard-boiled egg for lunch. Possibly a yogurt in the evening. Going to do that for 3 days, then wean off the shakes to some purees.
  11. Oh, totally. I usually do eat denser protein, but I have a TONNNN of canned veggies and was like "I have got to start going through some of these" so figured the beans would be a bit of protein with the zucchini. I did NOT expect to be able to eat that much and was mindlessly munching. I usually eat about 3-4oz of dense protein at a time. SOMETIMES I have eaten up to 6, but like twice? I don't feel so terrible eating a lot of non-starchy veggies, but I hope that this "reset" helps with some of the restriction again so I can measure things out and not be hungry! I've had one soy shake today so far (it's 1 here) and I am hungryyyy. Going to have a boiled egg for lunch and a shake in the afternoon. Been drinking a lot of water and tea but unf.
  12. I was looking at that schedule and that's "basically" what I am doing except I HAVE to have some protein because of my exercise - I'll pass out and die otherwise. lmao. So, protein shakes in the beginning. Going to mess around with it this week and see how I feel! I noticed I was able to eat an entire half can of pinto beans mixed with a half can of zucchini last night without paying attention and I was like aaaaaaaaaaaa! The fullness is definitely disappearing. I want to restart and start being more conscious again of measuring, which I had stopped because I felt like I was eye-balling correctly (and I was for a while).
  13. Is a pouch reset diet okay to do simply when you don't feel much restriction anymore, but aren't actually gaining any weight? Will it be helpful in any way to bring some feelings of restriction back? I'm finding I can fit a lot more in lately and I don't like it. lol. I was going to do a modified "pouch reset" of protein shakes and a hardboiled egg for 3 days, then purees 2 days, then soft solids for 2 days.
  14. The obsession never goes away. LOL. At least it still hasn't for me... 8 months later.
  15. Face to face. Day before op versus Monday.
  16. It depends on what I am eating. I am 8 months and never eat more than 4-5oz of a dense protein at a time. It will make me feel SO full and terrible if I do. If I am eating cottage cheese, though, I eat a full cup, which is 8oz... but won't stretch the pouch because it's "slidey" and really great for you so I don't feel bad about it. But yeah, anything that would ever cause me to feel fullness or sickness, I stick to just a few ounces. I know my book has specific guidelines, but I haven't looked at my book in months and seem to be doing better than my office expected so I gotta be doing something right.
  17. Instead of making a new thread for each of my quandaries and appointments, I'm just going to post here. lol. My home equity loan is approved! I go for closing on Friday. I have $40,000 dedicated solely to plastics, but I don't intend to spend more than 20K. I have my consult with my surgeon on August 16th for an arm lift and tummy tuck and to do something about my "side boob" area. They WILL do a tummy tuck and arm lift simultaneously. TO BE CONTINUED! I AM SO PSYCHED! AUGUSSSTTT!!
  18. I am 8 months out and eat 700-800 calories a day. I work out 6 times per week, 2 days with a trainer doing weights/HIIT, 3 cycling classes, 1 yoga class.
  19. It'll pick up. I stalled for EIGHT WEEKS. Not a single pound lost. Then it started again.
  20. My orthostatic hypotension is really bad. Like preventing me from doing my favorite exercises and I lose vision/get super dizzy almost every time I stand. Since my bariatric office was just like "hopefully it'll get better some day", I went to my primary care yesterday and was prescribed Midodrine to raise my BP. I've only taken two doses, but from what I understand it doesn't build up in your system... it wears off after about 3-4 hours so I have to take it 3 times per day and keep a log of my BP. I don't seem to have any side effects other than it's making my head feel REALLY tingling, like when you lose circulation in your foot or something... but "the internet" says that's a common side effect. Has anyone taken this medicine? Did it help? Do you taper off eventually or did you need it foreverrrrr? It wasn't the cheapest of my meds. =/ I tried adding salt and doing leg flexing, etc, before standing but that didn't help at all... so now I'm at the prescription option. I'm currently sitting at my desk and rapidly standing up every so often to see if it's helping and it is. LOL. My coworker is like... wtf are you doing.... hahaha.
  21. I go to spinning 3 times a week now! I bought the cycling shoes for my second class. I have plantar fasciitis and my foot was in so much pain using regular gym shoes that they were necessary; now I have no pain. I also don't use the butt pads anymore. lol. I just have perma-sore-booty. *shrug* Love it.
  22. Day 26: YES. That needs to be the mantra of the day because I have been SO STRESSED the last week over a company that stole 3K from me and now I am going through a ridiculous dispute with the BBB, my credit card, and the AG's office. My eyelid has been twitching for SIX DAYYYSSS. Will it ever stop? lol. Anxiety explosion. WOOSA
  23. I am still really struggling with this. I have NEVER EVER had an addiction issue with cigs. Ever. But now I am even freaking out during the work day because I want to go out to smoke. Or if I run out of cigs I HAVE to hop in my car to get some. And I think it is starting to cause problems because every time I smoke my stomach BURNS like it did when I had an ulcer. But when I eat/drink, it's fine. But I still haven't been able to let it go. Has anyone tried Chantix? I am scared because I take SSRIs and anxiety meds and I have heard the stories about Chantix making people depressed/suicidal.
  24. I used to be able to tolerate fish at first but now I can't anymore, unless it is super moist salmon. But shrimp and scallops are awesome. About 4 or 5 shrimp is all I can manage.
